I booked a staycation here with my friends and children. This is a cute little property on the beach but I was extremely disappointed with my stay here. At the initial check in the young lady at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful. She could possibly use a lesson in customer service. I wasn't the only individual she was rude to so maybe it was a bad day. The rooms were very small and outdated. It was advertised for 6 people. We had 3 adults 1 child and 2 toddlers but felt like sardines. Upon booking we got a notification that there is an additional $40 per person resort fee which we were fine to pay but it slightly seemed like a scam. When we checked in we were notified and charged for an additional per person fee which they were not up front about. Had they been up front about all the fees we would have opted to stay somewhere much nicer. They only allow 1 parking space per booking, but there is NOWHERE to park. After complaining they did refund a portion of our resort fees but over all it was an inconvenience to stay here. If the price point were better I would say it's more appropriate for drunk college kids who are just there to sleep.

We really enjoyed this place. Sheldon, the manager started to check us in and he was absolutely pleasant. He was wearing an amazing flamingo suit too. We were even offered free wine and beer. They have free drinks in the lobby from 4-5. The girl who finished checking us in was also a sweetheart too. If you do stay at this resort, note that you check in down the street in the opposite side. You can use amenities at all three resorts, and they're just a ma and pop type. They have human sized jenga and chess too. At this location they allow pets and they even have a gated area for them. Pets are an extra $25/night and there's is a resort fee. For both nights it cost us about $250. I think it's worth it. Our room faces the water and even has a full fridge and little kitchenette. You also get free beach access at the resort where you check in.

We stayed for 3 nights over Labor Day weekend in the Penthouse with Balcony Suite. The highlights were the spacious room and the water view. I was very happy with the bay view because it felt as though we were right on the water, as compared to the hotels with gulf views that are set further back from the water. I loved having plenty of room to spread out. We didn't really use the kitchen, but it was great having a full size fridge. I accidentally strained my knee the first night so it was very convenient being able to get crushed ice right there in our room. The room was clean and had everything we needed, but don't go expecting anything other than the basics. There's no heavenly bed or fancy bath amenities here. They don't even have daily housekeeping service, although that's fine with us because we usually don't need it anyway. For the size of the overall room, the bathroom could have been bigger. We went across the street to the Plaza Beach Hotel one night to watch the sunset. The bartender at the pool bar was friendly, and it was nice to have the convenient access to the beach. We didn't spend as much time at the beach as I expected, but I ended up being able to relax and lounge outside with a book on our balcony. Overall the Bayview Plaza was a good value, compared to prices that I was seeing for other hotels in the area. Sure we could have paid a lot more for a gulf view room on the beach, but I was happy with our spacious bay view room for the price we paid. I will definitely return for our next trip to St. Pete.

I'm so happy we found this place. Rooms are clean nice quaint old Florida feel. we will definitely return. You can fish off their docs or walk across the street to their sister hotel and have access to a private beach area.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bay Palms which is one of the three hotels that are part of the Bayview Plaza Resorts. We stayed in room 216 which was the two bedroom two bathroom apartment style room. The living room area and one of the bedrooms has a large window with a view of the boca ciega bay/intercoastal waterway. Beach access is a very close walk less than a block away across the street and there is a traffic light to cross safely. We didn't see any dolphins or manatees but lots of birds and fish. There's dishes and silverware in the room and lots of room to spread out. Management fixed some of the little things we noticed after our stay like a loose faucet and toilet paper holder attachments. As well as plastic wrap left on the lamps made it look like they rushed to get the room remodeled. But after asking the management, they said the mother likes to leave the plastic on because it looks and keeps it new. I was surprised that they didn't vacuum everyday with all the sand that you bring in. They are an environmentally conscious hotel and don't replace your sheets and towels everyday unless you ask. Which saves water and energy. The only draw backs were a few obnoxious, drunk guests (not spring breakers) and cigarette smoke from guests. Overall we liked the bay palms and it's kitchy boutique feel. It was nice to be a guest at all of the hotels and be able to use the parking lots of the other hotels because parking at bay palms is close to the street and you have to back into traffic to get out. Also beach access from the other hotel was nice to be able to use their restroom and clean sand off your beachy feet.

Bayview Plaza was AMAZING!! From the moment you check in, the customer service is unbeatable. You check in at the main resort across the street and since we came from the airport, they drove us to our room with our bags. We stayed in a queen suite with a bay view and had the best room in the whole place. The balcony was completely private and the entire room was so clean. We had a full-size fridge that was perfect for snacks as well as a kitchenette for cooking and heating up any meals. The amenities at the resort are amazing and you get to use all amenities between all three resorts. I cannot say enough praise about the staff and their level of service. They had a super convenient texting support where I was able to ask questions from places to eat to inquiring late checkout. I can honestly say that I plan on staying here every time. You cannot beat this level of service and comfort for the price!!!

I was very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the room was. Had a full kitchen, and they have gone out if their way to be Eco-friendly. Bed was a little tough, pillows a little flat but everything was clean and felt new. Had to go a little out of the way to check in... But there is free beer/wine 4-5, and free coffee in the morning. Pool is clean and clear. Don't let the outside fool you, this was a lovely stay for us who are used to 5 star resorts. We'd stay again, especially for the price.

Nearly full moon view from my balcony.

I came here for a long beach weekend with my two pups and we all had a blast. Attentive staff from my initial phone call to check out. My waterfront studio was well appointed and immaculate! They are eco friendly and seem to genuinely care about your experience. Rates are very competitive for the area. Only drawback was that there weren't any coffee makers in rooms. They offer it across the street but didn't feel like going upon waking up. Regardless, I didn't want to leave and am looking forward to my next stay there.

We were excited to discover that the hotel is just a short walk away from one of our favorite beaches, Upham beach, which made the trip even more special. The property had a fun South Beach feel with plenty of seating to socialize, a cute pool with bright flamingo floats, a hot tub, and a great outdoor pool bar. Natalia was a great bartender, she was friendly and gave the most awesome recommendations off the menu. She did not miss a beat! Randy was a fantastic host. He was in communication via text as soon as the room was ready and greeted us immediately as we arrived on the property which does not require you to check in as they send you your room number and code to get in. In the room they also leave all important information including your parking pass and two complimentary drink tickets for a convenient arrival no matter what time you get in. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with a king bed, updated bathroom, big-screen TV, and a convenient kitchenette. There were complimentary mimosas in the lobby each morning. They even have a wonderful restaurant on the 2nd floor, 82 Degrees, where we enjoyed most of our meals for the weekend.

Unfortunately, the noise level significantly impacted our stay. We were in Room 28, and directly behind the room is a hallway used by staff from the upstairs bar. Throughout the first night, we heard a heavy door repeatedly slamming and staff using rolling carts to transport trash. The noise continued until about 3:00 a.m., making it very difficult to sleep. The next morning, I expressed my concerns to the front desk. He was polite, apologized, and said he would pass the information along. However, the noise resumed again the following night. Around 11:30 p.m., I stepped into the hallway and observed someone pulling trash on one of the carts; they did not appear interested in engaging when I tried to address it. Closer to midnight, after another loud door slam, I spoke with a different staff member who was very receptive and respectful. After that conversation, the noise level did decrease. I understand that hotel operations continue behind the scenes, but for a property positioned as an upscale boutique experience, I would expect better late-night noise control -- especially in rooms directly adjacent to service areas. The hotel has a lot of potential, and the cleanliness was excellent. However, due to the repeated overnight noise disruption, I would be hesitant to stay in that location of the property again.

The views are beautiful, and the location is right on the beach. There are plenty of spaces in the lobby for working, plenty of meeting rooms (or ball rooms if you're there for a formal event), and areas to just relax or work. The resort provides live music various days of the week as well. I will say that I was surprised about the lack of dining options. There is a lobby bar (which doesn't open until 3pm), and just two restaurant options. Maritana is only open a few days a week and not open until 5:30pm, although the lobby bar does serve a few small plates. The Society Table has a bar within their restaurant (Rowe Bar I believe), and I experienced both as they both have different menus. The lobby bar menu is small but great; the Wagyu Sliders and charcuterie board were both delicious. The wine list is fairly extensive as well. I dined at the society table for lunch on the day that I left and I got the Gumbo with jalapeño cornbread. This was very delicious; I do feel there should've been more than a few pieces of chopped up shrimp. My waitress was wonderful though and very kind as well as the hostess. For the days we were provided food by the resort for the work conference, I was very impressed! All of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options were incredibly extensive, fresh, and delicious. The servers were very attentive and helpful. The room service menu although overpriced and included a $5 "delivery charge," is very extensive and tasty. For example, an omelet with toast (small salad included with the omelette), was almost $60 including tip. That being said, it was the best omelette I've ever had. The guest services for room service and the cleaners were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Evan! Do note that this is a cashless resort. There are a few shops on the first floor for souvenirs, basic necessities for traveling, and then an adorable little shop/café with ice cream, coffee, wine, snacks, and drinks. On to the room! I really enjoyed my room. I feel like for one person or even two, it's a pretty spacious room. The bed was very comfortable as well as pillows. They cleaned my room each day, and provided new towels. The bathroom was clean and a decent size for one person. All of the events that the hotel put on for our conference were outstanding. We had a welcome party and a beach party, and I was incredibly impressed. The food was delicious, the staff incredibly attentive and kind, and the music wonderful! The Don CeSar was the perfect place for our conference and I would highly recommend a company conference there. Between the delicious food, impeccable service, beautiful resort, and location right on the beach, I would recommend this spot for an event, quick getaway, or staycation.

The service in this hotel is very good overall. The pools and the beach are superb. We chose this resort as a special anniversary vacation, and this is part of the lower review. We ultimately felt the hotel discount promotion and phone sales was misleading. Ambiguous communication led us to believe we would receive a free night, however we later realized and were told that the discount was already built in to our price, although no sign of discount was found anywhere on our invoice. I'm self employed and I've managed business for 35 years, and I've not seen discounts that don't show on an invoice. Se beware of promotional discount offers as it may not be what you expect, and you'll be left with no way to disprove the phantom discount because it's not on your invoice, apparently is just spoken. Overall service was very good. We had a minor blip in the maritana, which was the wrong dessert brought to us, and presented as "happy anniversary" with a chocolate that said that, but was strangely charged to us. The waitress handled it like a pro. I would advise the chef to either ignore birthdays and anniversaries and that sort of thing, or offer a small free dessert. But definitely don't bring out a "happy anniversary" dessert then charge for it. Also had overcooked hard poached eggs at the society table - no big deal just no runny yolk. If not for the price, who cares? But with such a great menu and fantastic chef, they should get eggs right. No discount offered. But I ate it so... All of our food was great, and really well developed and complete dishes as if it were Michelin rated. Cheers to the chef. Just two very minor fails. Overall it was a nice stay but we won't go back mainly because ultimately they didn't step up over a $600ish discrepancy over a 5 night stay. Look at my reviews. It's very rare I don't write 5 stars. I'm not one of those people that gives a bunch of bad reviews. The highlight of this resort is the beach, the pools, and the menu. Service is good overall. So definitely some good.

That's about it for the positives. It is a VERY dated hotel so if you like fresh and new, look at the 2014-opened Hotel Zamora a hundred yards down Gulf Blvd, however it is not beachfront, so that's its huge problem. The rooms here you can tell have seen some better years with patches and paint easily spotted on the walls. The appliances in the kitchenette are very old but perfectly functional if you want to enjoy a week on the beach without the expense of going to restaurants for every meal. If you're wanting to catch a football game on TV, better to visit a bar because the rooms still have old school tube televisions. The front desk is not staffed 24x7, so there are restrictions on check in and check out times to keep in mind. My only real complaint about this place is security. The room I stayed in had broken locks on at least two of the windows making it impossible to lock them. The door locks still use traditional keys, so who knows if someone has copied yours in the past. The rooms on the south side of the property (not sure about the north side) have a sidewalk area and second door on that back side exiting from the bedroom; it would be easy for someone to break into the room from that site without it being very obvious. So if you have some true valuables, you probably won't feel comfortable leaving them in the room. I'm not sure if the front desk has some more secure method of storing items for guests.
