Mr Nolas Glitter - Welcome to Mr. Nola's Glitterg

I put mine in cheap spice bottles with the original labels and it worked great for me! LOVE the contests, the fun craft events and then even better inspiration. I had a lot going on in my life and this was a great source of fun and inspiration for me! I miss their store and everything they did for the community! Glad to still be following on facebook and looking forward to their next chapter!

I have been here a few times for Krewe events. I keep trying to like this place, but I have a hard…read moretime. First: the positives... there is a huge selection of glitter. Also? There's a lot of workspaces, so if you're there for a craft day or krewe party, there's room to spread out and have your space. Also? They have a bathroom, and it seems pretty cleaned and stocked, so no complaints there Now, the reasons that this is my least favorite glitter place in the Greater NOLA area... 1. the cost -- the amount you spend for the little bit of glitter that you get? It's not worth it. Yes, if there is a specific krewe blend that you're looking for and want to support that, fine, splurge. For me? that's way too pricey. 2. the containers. The glitter is given to you in a sealed bag that is filled with static and has no way to reclose. It's not ziplock, it's not a reusable jar. It's a waste of plastic that you have to replace as soon as it's opened. It's incredibly impractical, and if you have a huge stock of glitter to begin with, it becomes annoying to try to find another container to store it. If you need glitter, or things for your spinner cup thingys, they're an option. However, for the price and product, definitely no where close to where I'd go with so many other options available in the GNO area.

This is an interesting farmers market with an eclectic mix of fresh food, meat, seafood, bread,…read morefresh shucked oysters, homemade sausage, art, soaps, jerky, jewelry, dog treats, fresh cracklin', jellies & salad dressings, honey, vinegars, local coffee and tea, fresh pretzels, fresh juice drinks, desserts and fresh shrimp cocktails. I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but you get the drift. Obviously the selection changes every week, but you get to know your favs. Parking is generally available, though you may have to drive around or walk a block or two - at least it's free on weekends. Bank to get cash is close by, but most vendors take Venmo now; some take credit cards. You've got to get out of bed - might as well make the morning a good experience. :)

They have some freshly prepared food you can order and eat here and then other things that are packaged you can eat now or later. There are also many arts and crafts to enjoy and then an interesting selection of various other books, crafts and knickknacks. It does seem to be pretty variable here as I've been here when they had lots of amazing things and other times where the selection was blah. I've enjoyed some great live music here and then just had pretty blah times. The good news is this market is located right in downtown Gretna so there are lots of good options to eat and drink at in the area so if you arrive on a less than optimal market day there is still plenty to keep you occupied.

    Micah Puzzles - The puzzle.

I've been holding out on my 600th review...trying to figure out what is worthy of a five star…read morereview and something that represented my life now. Micah Puzzles Back in May of this year, the BF was in dire need of someone who could capture a puzzle for something that he had been pondering about for some time. I'm not sure how he learned about Micah Puzzles, but obviously his discussion with him satisfied his search. After spending countless of hours choosing the right pictures and putting them in the perfect order (while I was away in San Francisco visiting the family), he sent the order out. On June 24th, 2008 - I awoke to a scavenger hunt that the BF had laid out the previous night. Throughout the house were gray satchels with puzzle pieces and hints to the next spot. I spent the rest of the day figuring out the clues and in search of these puzzle pieces, putting them together on our kitchen counter. I had thought the BF was at work, so I took my time once I realized the impact of what this scavenger hunt could have on my life. I even took the time to make a birthday card for him since it was his birthday that very day. With the puzzle almost complete, the BF came home with the final pieces. (I soon learned he had taken the entire day off waiting for me to finish so he could deliver the completion of the puzzle.) When the final pieces were assembled, it read, "Teri, will you marry me?" I was already crying, and could only cry more. The BF was down on one knee and became the Big F with one statement and my simple response of "Yes." Micah had created a 79 piece puzzle for me, not just any cheap looking cardboard puzzle now, but a five-layer wooden block one, with intricate shapes and pieces. He also added a few 'trick' pieces - including a couple of cupids, and a train. The quality of his work help set the stage of one of the most important events of our life. Which eventually led to the Big F becoming the Husband.

Too many beads to look at. This place is stuffed with beads. All kinds, but everything is organized. There is a method to the madness. Staff recommend that you grab one of the small baskets that include small plastic bags and a pen. You place your selection in the baggy and write down how much it costs on the outside of the baggy. There are strings of beads hanging from the walls. Beads and clasps in bowls and dishes of various types, shapes, and sizes. A large assortment of chains, cut to desired length. Everything necessary to create your own custom jewelry. There were some serious bead shoppers in the shop. One of the ladies was assisting a mother and daughter duo the entire time I was looking around. They were still there when I made my purchases and exited. I purchased the cutest miniature tea cup and saucer and a faux pearl in a shell. There's even a back room where things have already been made. The staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. The back of the business card: Beads; jewelry; findings; beading supplies; classes; repairs; charms; kids and adult parties; custom designs; wedding jewelry.
