First, I want to recognize Matt, the technician who came to my home. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous throughout the visit. He took the time to answer my questions and shared valuable information about water treatment systems and installation considerations. He also mentioned that when these units are shipped and transported on their sides, it can sometimes create issues depending on the equipment and how long it remained in that position. I appreciated his expertise and his willingness to educate me on the project. My concern is not with Matt, but with the company's communication regarding fees. During my Yelp communications, I was advised that this would be a free estimate. Based on that representation, I scheduled the appointment. Matt reviewed the project and provided a quote of approximately $2,700. After obtaining several other quotes in the $400 to $550 range, I decided to move forward with another installer. Only after I informed Matt that I would not be proceeding with David Gray was I advised of a $49 service charge. At no point during the Yelp conversation, scheduling process, or prior to the appointment was I informed that there would be a charge associated with the estimate. Had I known about this fee in advance, I would not have scheduled the appointment. What made the situation more frustrating was that after declining the work, I received an invoice via email for the $49 charge, despite my understanding, based on the Yelp messages, that the estimate was free. This came as a complete surprise, as no fee had been disclosed or discussed beforehand. I believe companies should be transparent about any service-call, trip, diagnostic, or estimate fees before scheduling appointments so customers can make informed decisions. Again, Matt was excellent and represented the company professionally. My review reflects concerns with the company's communication and billing practices, not the quality of service provided by the technician. I would encourage future customers to confirm in writing whether any charges apply to estimates or site visits before scheduling an appointment.

Later, our contractor walked off the job, leaving it unfinished. By this time the appliances had been installed except for the hood vent. "We'll be back to do this," said the install team. Now Ferguson refuses to schedule or install the hood insert because the builder's name is on the paperwork, not mine (our address is too, of course, but that's not relevant to them, apparently). The invoices were paid in full - including the installation charge for the hood vent yet they still refuse. I escalated and spoke with the floor manager, Leah. She was even less sympathetic and helpful than the first person I spoke with. Leah acknowledged that the builder wasn't present when we made selections and that this is essentially just a paperwork / computer problem. In spite of that, they are intransigent. We paid $300 for the installation. It is not a significant sum but it's wrong on principle. They are simply the worst when it comes to actually solving problems.

We purchased and installed a new pump and check valve for our sprinklers in March, 2025. The check valve failed within 6 months, and when we tried to return it under warranty, we were denied. Clay who has been just OK to work with in the past was rude on the phone when I discussed the return, and then it got worse in person. He tested the valve and indeed it was sticking. Because the check valve had an older date of manufacturing on it, he denied the return because he claimed it was not the one he sold me. He had the sales invoice and no proof of what he was claiming. So apparently, he sold me an older check valve that failed within 6 months, then instead of replacing it under warranty, he said it was not the valve he sold me. Again, he had no proof it wasn't. I even showed pictures of us replacing the PVC valve with his brass one, but he would not even look at them, because his mind was made up. After some discussion he lost it, called me a liar, and told me to get out of his store and that he would not do business with me. He must be an owner, because if I ever heard any of my salesmen speak to a customer like that they would be let go. Anyway I did purchase a replacement check valve at Lowes for half the price. Recommend you go elsewhere for your plumbing and electric needs.

But Setzer's staff worked hard to keep us advised, get the manufacturer to deliver our appliances as quickly as possible and install the appliances quickly once they arrived at Setzers. A special shout-out to Candy who answered our many calls and got us to the right person, Jason who tirelessly reached-out to Viking to track the progress of our double oven and Mr Setzer himself for hiring the best installation team to install what we now call the beast - which if you look at the photos you will see an amazing Double Oven with Cafe doors that had to be lifted with a special jack it is so heavy and solid. The installers did an amazing job! Our kitchen is beautiful because of the amazing appliances the Setzers tram helped us install. The Samsun refrigerator is so versatile- it has 4 doors making it especially easy to slide bins and shelves out of the lower freezer - especially nice if anyone in your home is challenged by mobility issues. An added plus is the ability to switch one or both of the bottom sections from freezer to refrigerator if like many families you need more refrigerator space but keep a garage freezer close and handy. As the pandemic continues to make Appliance availability challenging we just want to thank the Setzer family for working so hard to make our kitchen remodel so beautiful.
