We absolutely loved working with Billy! We had our engagement shoot with him about a year before our wedding and loved his vibe immediately, he put us at ease in front of the camera, was very friendly, stayed over the time frame discussed to get all the shots we wanted, and delivered awesome pictures! Also, we don't live in San Diego so we didn't have anyone to hold our dog during pictures that didn't include her, and he was amazing at wrangling her while simultaneously shooting shots of just the two of us! He was also an absolute godsend on our wedding day. I'd definitely recommend him for couples who are getting married at the Safari Park, as it's quite a big venue and it was incredibly helpful to have a photographer familiar with the park and who knew the best places for good shots. When we got our first batch of photos from BE Studios after the wedding, my husband told Billy that he was both shocked and completely unsurprised at the same time with how amazing the photos were. Shocked because he actually didn't mind photos of myself for the first time in seemingly forever and unsurprised because his portfolio is exactly what you get. Billy rocked! He is a Jedi Master when it comes to the details, logistics, lighting and anything and everything that comes with photography. And since he has done tons and tons of shoots in the San Diego area, he knows where and when to take specific photos to get it just right. Engagement Shoot: At Balboa Park for an hour and he asked for our requests. He incorporated those as well as some other hidden spots and we performed a shoot where we all had fun and made the experience very special for me and Shelley. TL;DR - Billy and his team(s) are the BEST OF THE BEST. My first encounter was an email - my friend recommended him to us for our wedding because she LOVED him and his team. When I emailed him, he was so grateful for the rec and seemed like a fun dude. After tedious emails and DMs to other photographers, Billy always stood out to me. He was actually our first vendor we hired. I made the BEST decision going with Billy and his team. On a personal note - Billy Economu is quite possibly the nicest person you will ever meet. I booked Billy for our family photos based on a recommendation from friends. Our uncooperative crew included a 3 month old daughter, a 2 and half year old son, an exceptionally energetic and neurotic dog, a mother-in-law who hates having her picture taken, and a mom who requested a light-unfriendly mid-morning session time because NAPS (me, I'm that mom). I cannot say enough good things about Billy and his team! We hired BE studios for our photography and videography for our wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum in October 2019. We hired him based off of a recommendation from our friend, and we did not do engagement photos, so our first time meeting Billy was on our wedding day. From the second he walked through the door, he made everyone in the room feel at ease. He kept things moving and on schedule without making us feel rushed. Everyone on his team was so friendly and worked flawlessly together. We had quite a large team of people from BE studios, but we never even noticed the cameras at the ceremony/reception. The end product was AMAZING! We were blown away by our photos and video. Everything exceeded our expectations. Billy had our sneak peak photos to us (over 100 photos) less than a week after the wedding and the rest of the photos just a few weeks later. Our package included re-touching on 50 photos, but honestly they all already looked so perfect that we have yet to even get any of them re-touched. The highlight video was also done way sooner than expected (just over a month after the wedding) and it showcased all the best parts of the day perfectly. The prices are extremely reasonable compared to other photographer and videographers, yet the quality far exceeds that of others.
