A woman who fell squarely into the "surprised and afraid to find herself in charge of a hotel" category was incredibly rude to my wife when we were working from the room (as we had been told we could) the day we needed to inexplicably vacate it for a different room. "My husband is showering, we need 15 minutes." "You can't have 15 minutes." Like, what are you going to do? Forcibly remove us from the room? You guys were the ones who told us we could use the room. 4. I should also note that the rooms were LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO EACH OTHER and to my eye completely identical. (The one we moved to had a small balcony but otherwise I didn't detect any material difference.) It doesn't seem like an insurmountable puzzle to solve that you could have just put the other people into the vacant room. 5. They decided for some reason to empty the hotel's septic tank during our friends' wedding photos. 6. It's one of those places where a hopeless fussy person has laminated lots of signs with rules and instructions. Do NOT remove the laminated guide to the room from the room itself. Do NOT use any towel other than the blue ones for removing makeup. Do NOT flush anything other than toilet paper because the house has EXTREMELY sensitive plumbing. It all seems like someone very, very angry runs the place. (Is there a significant problem with guests removing the laminated guide from the room?) One star for a good location and another star for a pretty good breakfast (you are entitled to ONE cooked item, per the rules).

We didn't have a problem but if you travel with bathroom hogs renting on the the cottages would be best. Rob & Robin who run the B&B are sure nice and very helpful. Breakfast starts at 8:30 AM and they started an hour earlier for us. So I'm sure if your a big group and need to start your day earlier they can accommodate you. Overall I would return again and try one of their cottages if I'm traveling with less people.

I was connected with a woman named Beth, who was shockingly rude and unprofessional. When I began explaining the situation, she literally said, "I don't have time for this," and then followed it with, "Are you making a reservation or not?" I was stunned. We were ready to spend a week here, but after being treated like an inconvenience for asking a basic, medically necessary question, there's no way I'd trust our family vacation to this place. I'm genuinely at a loss for words at how poorly I was treated. Also, I might like to add it takes a lot for me to leave a negative review. I think I've only ever left one other negative review on my account. Trying to support small local business has always been a priority of mine and I understand people have good days and bad days so I don't usually take two social media to post a negative review but this was over the top nasty. I remember it being very quaint and lovely. The owner Bob was the first to introduce me to raw tuna and he had a cool basset hound. I remember clam digging in the ocean, sailing and meeting some of the most interesting people ever. There was a middle aged couple that stayed there for a while that use to take me out with them quite a bit. They were like hippies and I loved everything about them. She would listen to Carol King and his name was Frank. There was also this really cute guy that came to stay in the summer, I think he was a seasonal waiter at a nearby restaurant or something. My time was there was very interesting and I will never forget it. Oh, and there was this old jukebox in the bar area and I use to play Sugar Sugar by the Archie's and dance around. Lol. Very cool.

We had booked a couples getaway package, so there was a bottle of wine, fancy chocolate, and a $35 Southold General gift certificate waiting for us in our room. The king bed was extremely comfortable and I slept well, even though the bedroom and living room were only separated by a black out curtain. The continental breakfast (from 8-10am) had delicious pastries (also I think from Southold General), cereal, yogurt and fruit, juices, coffee, and tea. The friendly staff also made complimentary lattes, cappuccinos, or espresso, and were quick to clean up and ask if they could get us anything else. The bar and lounge area had a lovely view of the water and I spent a morning reading and enjoying the view. We didn't have a chance to use the fire pit or sit out on the adirondacks to watch the boats, but maybe next time. Overall, I'd highly recommend!

This is the first time we've stayed at the Sag Harbor Inn post-renovation and were impressed by the…read moreupgrades and new decor. We stayed in a second floor Harbor View King Room which was immaculate, large and quiet. The room had twin sinks, a desk, sofa and flat screen TV. Generous complementary breakfast was self serve in the spacious dining area including juice, coffee, bagels/cream cheese, cereal, pastries, sausage, fresh fruit and cereal. Front desk staff were very friendly (hi Kathleen!). The Inn doesn't serve lunch or dinner but the rooms do have small fridges for beverages or whatnot. There weren't any towels when we went to the pool so we had to go in and request them at the front desk.. Also we hope they install mini-safes in the rooms. It would have been nice to use the pool without bringing our wallets along. Still a very nice stay.
