There is a septic service that comes every 2 weeks. We genuinely loved our stay with our beloved dog. Neighbors were quiet and friendly. There is a beautiful beach with gorgeous views of the lake. House has fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, exercise room, pool table, 2 bikes, dart board, entertainment system, and computer. 5 bedrooms, 3 baths. Master suite is enormous with walk in closet , shower and separate oversized tub, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker if you're too lazy to go downstairs. The roof deck has a hot tub, comfy lounge chairs, and table and chairs for dining. Walking distance to downtown for shopping, dining, movies. This place is ideal for family vacations or groups of friends. I may never leave.

If u like kayaking and canoeing and swimming and that's ur number one priority then this is the place for you. We came from Long Island and wanted to just relax. The view is what got us to book. But...... we pulled down Long Pond road and were like wth! It had a lot of run down and closed up homes on the block. The only way i can explain it is it was like gloomy. The pics only showed the back of the home but pulling up we almost turned the car around and drove away. The house looked very run down with overgrown brush almost blocking the home. We paid a cleaning fee and was surprised that the house could Have been a little cleaner at our arrival. The fridge was covered in greasy handprints, there were cobwebs in every doorway the carpet was clearly not vacuumed nor was the floor swept. It smelt so musty and damp We went out and bought air freshener and candles. There were dead bugs in the corners and behind the bed and the bedroom carpet was so dirty i could feel it barefooted. I understand that it's a lake house but vacuum that stuff up before ur guests arrive especially if they are paying for a cleaning service. This house seems like it wasn't in a good area very creepy. And no We didn't co tact the owner about the cleanliness of the house while we were there because didn't want him to come and clean while we were there that would have been too weird. Also there were extremely big strange looking tan spiders with spotted backs that came out at night especially in the bedroom.

I wouldn't say close enough to walk, especially if you are bringing chairs, coolers, food, etc. You are within minutes drive to restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, etc for all your shopping needs. Beech Tree also has a little shop that have some drinks, trinkets, clothes, decor, etc. that my fiance says is adorable, cute, etc. If you love going to the beach and want to stay at a place owned by some nice people rather than some big corporately owned motel/hotel with no personality or character, check this place out! You won't be disappointed. We haven't, we're planning our 4th trip back here hopefully sooner than later!

2nd year back and it won't be our last!…read more What a fabulous vacation retreat! Feels like a little slice of coastal heaven. The location and decor make this such a relaxing place. Easy to sit for hours in the sunroom or on the rooftop deck, take in the sun and watch the birds and boat activity on the Mystic River. It's hard to find rentals with access to a deep water dock. And this dock is perfect. My husband went out fishing on his boat nearly every day. And when he came home with flounder, we cooked up a great meal in the fully equipped gourmet kitchen. Plenty of restaurants close by if you don't feel like cooking though. Glori and Chuck are also wonderful hosts and very thoughtful and responsive. Can't say enough good things about them.

We were lucky enough to enjoy incredible late summer/early fall weather for the length of our stay. But I would gladly stay there in rainy or snowy weather. My husband and I most enjoyed the sunsets and our two boys loved the HUGE level yard. The home is located on the small Mason's Island, but less than 2 miles from adorable downtown Mystic and many other destinations/conveniences. We have already booked a return stay and are so looking forward to it.

They're just so proficient at there jobs. Everything from beach chairs to hand sanitizer is at the house. The houses have all been immaculate, never any worries about cleanliness.
