I went here a couple of times and they were great, but then they started to fell off. I went in on my last time there and they ran out of foot supplies. meaning the sticky pads you put in your feet so you are not stepping on the floor while you are tanning. I have to walk on my toes hoping the tan wouldn't get on the bottom of my feet. But it did. She missed whole arm basically and the other side of my arm wasn't even tanned. it was great but then they started getting worse every single time. they have good pricing if you're looking for a good price Spray tan. read more

I wanted to get a spray tan later on in the evening. I checked the hours and it say they are open till 10. I arrived at 9:15.... 45 mins till closing and it was closed lights off and everything. I work till 8:00 pm on most night and this was my only chance to go. I'm very annoyed that the online hours are not accurate. read more

I loved my first spray tan. Madison is a doll and explained everything to me and made me at ease. I got a very positive vibe from everyone there. Madison told me she knew what I needed and she did. I came out with a beautiful tan. Not fake looking! They're very knowledgeable about all tans! The salon is big and very clean and well kept. The staff, including Madison are very professional. I I do not usually a person who tans I am 75% Irish so I burn easily and other salons I have been to have left me with bad burns. I was accompanying a friend to beach bum after the gym and I didn't plan on tanning but I did ask some questions there was an exceptional employee Brianna who was extremely knowledgeable about all the different skin types, she knew every detail of all the beds/machines and even suggested I do less time in the bed when most other places allow you to leave red as a lobster. I wanted to put on sunblock. Before i went into the bed but she convinced me with her extremely high knowledge of the brand and products that they sell product knowledge of every product on the wall. Beach Bum you are extremely lucky to have someone as quick, smart,intelligent, hard working and dedicated like Brianna on your team. I will definitely be back to this location. I have gone here for YEARS! Best tanning salon ever. I started going when they were in the shopping center on New Dorp Lane by Applebee's & TJ Maxx. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable & professional. It is & always has been, by far; the cleanest, best maintained, most professional, up to date with technology, & all around BEST tanning salon in all of Staten Island. Far more superior than anywhere else. I've never been disappointed in the years I utilized Beach Bum, all services have been great. After going here, anywhere I have tried to use while traveling or away for business, seemed stuck in the past. If you've never been to Beach Bum, the first time you go, you'll be amazed, everything is so new & they've always got the latest technologies. You'll feel in the future LOL. Seriously, they make every other salon seem to be stuck in the early 90's with basic, gym quality, "tanning" beds, that leave bulb marks or take months to get any results. After becoming a first time mom, I regrettably haven't been there in just over a year, I've been just itching to start going again. TmI went in for an airbrush tan and the girl (I hate saying that but I didn't catch her name) explained everything thoroughly. The girl who sprayed me did the same. I've been a member for approximately two years now and EVERY single time I walk in, the front desk staff greet me with a friendly hello AND when I exit, I always get a 'byeee, have a good day!"...I haven't experienced that kind of friendly and consistent customer service from many businesses, except maybe European Wax Center, they're the same :) ...Anyway, the front desk staff are also very knowledgeable of the products and tanning procedures. I have a monthly unlimited package for mystic spray tan and/or tanning bed for approx $55 per month after tax. I like the mystic because it's safe (no UV damage), it comes in three shades - light, medium, and dark - and it's quick, 5 minutes and you're done. The mystic lasts about 5-6 days and does not streak as long as you follow the instructions (exfoliate beforehand and don't participate in sweaty activities for 4 hrs after the spray, rinse off, and you're good to go)! What's nice about this particular package is that it's interchangeable in that I can choose which tanning option to select, OR I could even lay in the tanning bed for 10 minutes and then proceed down to the mystic after. My personal experience at beach bum has been nothing less then fabulous. From the girls who work there to the beds. It feels more of a spa then a tanning salon. The workers are always so pleasant ! The little blonde manager is constantly accommodating to me whenever I have questions about the beds or fit wrap. She is very informative about all my questions. I think it's excellent service the beds are very clean and I have had many experiences at many tanning salons on Staten Island I can't see how anyone would go anywhere else. I must say! you go into most tanning salons and think where the hell did they get this staff! well these girls at this location are wonderful! extremely sweet! explain all very clearly on what best machine or tans fits your needs. I was talked into the air brush versa spa instead of mystic 7 for $99 you cannot go wrong! the color is beautiful as they advised it would be with the settings they suggested. Worst experience ever!!! My spray tan was almost done when it blasted out a sudden gush of tanning spray all over my face and chest. The girl quickly started patting it off and I know it wasn't her fault so I was not nasty, I was however very upset and looking for the correct instructions on what to do since my face was clearly very blotchy, she insisted that I shouldn't wash it off and redo my face. I asked the ignorant girl at the desk what she thought I should do, she said to wash it off and redo it, after several dumb comments. I said please call a manager because I don't want it to set in and you two are telling me two different things! Nobody answered the phone. I said please try again since she clearly didn't seem concerned enough to try calling again, I explained I know it's not your fault but I need to know what to do about this Mess and I said please just try calling someone that may know better what to do. You would think that a business would have at least one intelligent adult to speak to, not this place! An ignorant young man calls me as the manager and instead of trying to help with the situation, and appogize, he calls to tell me that I upset a little girl!! If she's a little girl she shouldn't be working there! And if she is so clueless on how to handle a problem and can't deal with someone asking for help and asking for a manager then she should not be working at all. The rediculous response by the manager topped the cake for stupidity. read more
