I have been coaching competitive baseball and softball for over 20 years, both at the club and the high school levels. I'm going to tell you right now, if you are not a kid taking lessons-- Do not come here. If you are someone just looking for a place to take some swings ... do NOT come here. I came after work one day ...just to take some swings for fun, as I played baseball through junior college back in my day, and love the sport. Actually, I didn't just come here... I had to go through an internet portal to reserve 30 mins in a cage that is overpriced (but hey, maybe this is some high end place with top end machines). So... I come in ...and stand in the lobby completely confused and ignored for at least 10 minutes. I then almost had to go behind the counter, into a back room to find an employee playing on their phone. I don't know if I've ever met someone less interested in customer service or the sport of baseball. I immediately think to myself, "What did I pay for ??" After I changed and taped my bat, I had to go find her in the back room again to show me how to work this computer/machine. She unclearly went very fast over how it all works. But hey, I'm a 30 year old millennial, I can figure it out. ...The machine then proceeded to throw every pitch in the turf low and away for 30 mins. Minus the 10 minutes I had to go find the girl again ...who tried to show me again, the exact thing I already tried to do, the same way she showed me before. Minus the 5 mins to pick up balls every 20 unhittable balls or so. I even tried to politely ask a coach in the next cage to help me with the machine , and the guy acted like he didn't hear me. (Probably because of some Manhattan beach Karen cracking the whip over this poor guy to coach her son, sadly, I get it. But don't have to be ignored like I'm not there. ) I basically paid to take 10 hacks at balls bouncing 3 feet infront of the plate, be confused and ignored. Not to mention the claustrophobia , and Manhattan beach baseball moms staring at you over their iPad from 5ft away as their kids run crazy in there. All of that in 30 mins for about $50? When I left, I told the girl, "Hey, I didn't even get one good pitch. Lol" She was like , "oh well." So what did I pay for is what I want to know? This place, honestly, should be investigated by the BBB (or Better Business Bureau) as they are claiming to provide a service that they DO NOT provide. Yeah, you're giving lessons, but you advertise that anyone can come in there and hit --which is obviously not the case. For the record, I'm like the 5th review out of the 30 they have (that's a good percentage)..claiming this exact same thing. Every review I've seen , that is not a parent talking about lessons, says the same thing. And the owner responds very out of pocket and unprofessional. So, I'm hoping to hear from them and I can report further about this business. I do NOT recommend. My love for baseball was almost sucked out by these people. Be careful. Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a business period. Someone has to open a real batting cage in this area. read more

Facility is clean and inviting. Prices are fair and competitive with the area. Definitely would recommend for training and fun for the kids.

We visited because they have 40 mph pitching speed in their batting cages, perfect for my 8 year old. We made a same day reservation for 30 minutes. It was great-the machine was adjustable, my son had a really good time and gained some confidence. The entire staff was super friendly. read more

Update: We did receive a lesson....your machines are old compared to where we've been going, outdated and do not work correctly. Went in to use the cages and we were shown how to use the machine but the balls were coming out too low we adjusted the balls coming out and the coach in the next cage over started to tell my son off and kept going and demanded that we go to the front and grab the same lady that had already showed us how to use the machine......long story short these people are super super rude!! read more

Went out to Beach City Baseball Accademy from Las Vegas, for a 5 day baseball camp in July, with my 8 year old. Everything was better than I expected. The Staff was 1st class doing everything they could to make the experience great. Their private lessons, one each night for a different skill development was great and very reasonable. Really impressed by this place. Looks small from the outside but they also have an outdoor facility across the street, a mini field. During times of Covid-19 it was hard to find camps in general so baseball made sense. Outdoors for the most part, lots of distance. These guys had batting cages open the first few days (carefully so) but then had to scramble and do outdoor whiffle ball practice etc after indoor activity shutdowns. They kept it so fun, focused, lots of dynamic changes in activities. My son and his bff have loved it and it's been a fun, rewarding, enriching summer experience to an otherwise bum summer. They offer clinics too at an amazing price. They have a travel team. Etc etc. Tiffanie, Ryan, and all the coaches have been upbeat and just amazing with the kids. I'd highly recommend this place for enhancing skill AND for just knowing your kids are in caring, knowledgable hands. read more

I love the place and will continue to go here, regardless of the owner's childish response above. The interface to the pitching machine was broken. The buttons were cracked and broken, sorry. The hittrax was broken and basically unresponsive most of the time. The iron mike pitching machine was all over the place. The staff was not quick to help and was unable to fix anything, what can I say? Facts are facts, deal with it. It is not the best equipment you will find anywhere, yet it is still much better than most. Heartily recommend this place, even if they get a little defensive when someone points out their shortcomings. read more

Great machines. They have fair cages, only about 5-7. The thing that I didnt like was the staffs attitude. If Im paying $100 a month, and you want me to pay a $100 registration fee, I need a smile and to be treated like you want us there. NOT like your going out of your way just to talk to us about my kid signing up. For that reason I wont be back. read more

Have been coming here every year for the past 4 years. Everything about the facility, from the coaches to the owner, are absolutely top notch and nothing in the South Bay compares. I first found this place many years ago when my younger brothers were playing baseball in high school. It was great then and it was great yesterday when I went there to break in my softball bat. The place has changed a lot in the years. There's a ton of cool memorabilia hanging on the walls. I showed up solo not knowing the machines are self fed, but the young man working was kind enough to feed the machine for me. He even gave me tips that helped me not to lunge forward. Beach City Baseball Academy is the completely remodeled and revamped version of the former "Total Baseball." It offers fantastic amenities, including 4 baseball cages, 2 softball cages, a gym, gorgeous bathrooms, showers, and more. The new owners have really gone all out in terms of the remodel and offerings of the facility. Nevertheless, I give Beach City Baseball only 2 stars, because the customer service and demeanor of the staff and owners is as awful as the facility is nice. I have been paying for a monthly family membership ($60) since it was Total Baseball--probably nearly 3 years, all told--and whenever my daughter and I walk in the place we feel palpably unwelcome. We are never greeted...never even acknowledged. Today we came face to face with the owner on our way in. I said "hi." He literally ignored me. They also answer their phone probably 1 in 5 times that we call. During off season this isn't much of a problem, because a cage is usually available on a walk-in basis. But it's a real pain during peak season when you call to check availability and can't get an answer. Beach City Baseball will continue to get my business. It is the only place nearby, and it is about the best facility of its kind that I have visited. But until they start treating their paying customers better, they get 2 stars. read more

This place is EXCELLENT for all ages ... available for coach pitch in the cages and ideal for kids (typically ages 6 up) that can hit off pitching machine as slow as 40 mph and up to I believe max 75/80. For use at cages, they offer ample batting helmets, bats & gloves and sell great equipment. Facility very nicely renovated, good size workout room, updated bathroom, and upgraded backyard (for members) with outdoor batting cages and extra recreation for kids/family (basketball hoop, ping pong table, etc.) An awesome, experienced and professional staff. They offer excellent one on one baseball instruction (hitting, pitching, fielding, conditioning) and great camps/clinics. And with one of the primary owners being a part of Murad spa & skin care ... there are lots of nice products (lotions, hand soaps, sunscreens) for moms especially to try and magazines galore! read more

i live a couple of houses away from this place, and it is horrible. the business does NOT respect the neighbors. they are constantly having parties there with loud music, yelling, cheering and talking that disturb my ability to have quiet time at home. on many occasion, my child are not even able to go to bed because of the loud noise coming from the customers. their customers and the parents of the children constantly take up parking in the area that should belong to residents. they even went so far as to mark part of the street loading and unloading only, taking even more parking away from the neighbors who live here. the parents waiting for children, frequently double park or illegally wait in the middle of the street and alleys making it difficult to drive and park and dangerous for children and pedestrians. on many occasions, they even doublepark in front of driveways making it difficult for residents to enter or leave. the previous owners used to have this an indoor only facility, and had their own parking, then the new owners made the outdoor parking into an place to practice and have parties, taking away from the parking of those who live here and increasing the noise levels to unacceptable levels. The residents do not want this current business here and are all UNHAPPY with them. Please support the residents by NOT SUPPORTING THIS BUSINESS. read more

This baseball facility is by far the best I've ever seen. It's much more than the 7 batting and pitching cages that you see when you walk through the door. The staff is both knowledgable and friendly, there is a state of the art workout room for conditioning, and a comfortable lounge area to watch your kids practice. I signed my grandson (10 1/2) up for some coaching sessions and he really enjoys them and his batting has really improved. Love this place!! Safe and family oriented place for my son to hit. No Foul Language, etc like you may see at the Teen Center across the street. Lots of cages, and everyone is helpful if you don't know how to work the machines. The place has recently been renovated and if you have a membership, mom can work out in the gym while the kids hit balls or are pitching. My son has taken lessons here and really likes his teachers, Kenny, Dane and Jeff. As someone else mentioned, there is a lot of equipment to try out and borrow and excellent Murad products available. read more
