We've had such a great experience with Coach Charles as my son's pitching and batting coach. He's incredibly patient and knowledgeable, which makes a huge difference--especially since my son can get frustrated easily. Our son has worked with with Mason as his hitting coach all throughout his high school years and has played summer ball with Wrecking Crew for the past two years. Mason and all his assistant coaches are tremendous, quality people who really know baseball but above all really care about the kids. Not only does Mason provide expert assessment and instruction, he reinforces it with questions that ensure the learning sticks: how did that feel? what did you do? what adjustment could you make? etc. It's definitely improved my son's performance at the plate. In addition, Mason offers solid encouragement along the way. His comments are always constructive and delivered in an upbeat manner. It's obvious to me he enjoys teaching. This is a great facility to up your baseball game. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff all around. They offer cages to practice in as well as lessons. All of the instructors are very knowledgeable and attentive. Coach Masons Hitting instruction is exactly what my son needed. So happy we found this place. Basic hitting coaches are a dime a dozen, and can only get you so far. You may be able to find cheaper, but just like everything else in life, good work isnt cheap and cheap work isnt good! Wow, Mason Morioka and his Wrecking Yard facility and staff are top notch. State of the art technical equipment like Hitrax and a very professional set up allow the instructors to really identify challenges and teach. The real differentiator has been the 1-on-1 personal care and instruction. It's not a "cookie cutter" approach, I feel like each lesson feels customized to my kid. Nice little facility with three batting cages, including one with hittrax. We visit family in torrance every year and used to go to the Refinery, which closed during the pandemic. First time there we had a 30 minute session with Mason who hit the ground running and impressed with his insights and understanding. A really cool experience. You would need to book well in advance for the Hittrax as it is only in one cage and is only used by one instructor. Otherwise, a regular 30 minute session was $60. read more

we have been a part of the wrecking crew 12U team for the past couple of months. we came from a previous team, so being here has been a breath of fresh air from the typical south bay baseball community. the coaches genuinely enjoy teaching and running drills with the boys. they make practices fun while still keeping form and technique a priority. my son recently got injured and isn't able to hit or throw, but they have still managed to keep him a part of practices, so he hasn't felt left out or too bummed that he's on the sidelines for a bit. since the injury, we have been taking privates with coach nick, who has been working on other mechanics of his swing. we are so grateful we found a positive baseball community, they've really got a good thing going and we just feel so lucky that we get to be a part of their team! read more
