I've taken several cars to Jeff at Beach City Tint, and every experience has been consistently frustrating. Appointments are almost always delayed, and the materials they promise to have ready in advance are never actually available when you arrive. On my Tesla, they had to redo the windshield three separate times because of visible specs trapped underneath the film. This should not happen even once if done properly. At one appointment, no one was even there. Jeff called me over an hour later with no explanation. The most concerning part is that they advertise themselves as an authorized Llumar installer, but they are not truly authorized to offer the warranty that comes with it. That means you will not receive the official Llumar coverage you are supposed to get. I would strongly recommend taking your car elsewhere. There are more professional and trustworthy tint shops in the area. read more

I rarely leave 1 Star reviews especially for small businesses. But, I don't want others to go through the same experience I am having. Bottom line, do not leave a deposit or pay upfront with Jeff. He owes me a $450 refund since 10/01 and has yet to pay me and it's coming up on a month. I've heard everything from I'm picking up the check, I forgot to deposit the check, I'm waiting for the check to clear, and you'll have it tomorrow. Many tomorrows have come and gone. In case anyone is interested, I can share the text messages with you. I guess my only recourse is Small Claims Court. How it got to this point... I have a special edition car with factory decals/stripes that are no longer made by the factory. Fortunately, I was able to find a set and went to Jeff at Beach City Tint to install. Jeff called me back a few days later after working on the set for the trunk and said he couldn't get the bubbles out as it was not air release vinyl. BTW, the decals were not salvageable and that was about $200 worth of material. He mentioned he had a guy that can make a set but needed to be paid upfront $450. Waited over 2 1/2 weeks to find out the decals were not good enough. At that point Jeff states he would refund me. Also, I did find out for OEM decals you can wet install them to aid installation and removal of bubbles. I know others had good experiences with Jeff and Beach City Tint, but I'm not one of them. read more

I've been forced to take legal action. I paid $4000 to wrap my car in the spring of 2024. The wrap ended up peeling off and got super discolored. Jeff offered to re-wrap my car for $2000. I paid the $2000 up front in April 2025 - big mistake and shame on me. They removed my wrap and took my decals off. My car sat in the lot for weeks and weeks and weeks without action. I finally had to ask for my money back as I needed my vehicle and was not receiving the service I paid for. Now nearly six months later I continue to get reasonings and excuses DAILY as to why Jeff cannot send me my money - bank issues, family issues, out of town, ICE raids, etc - I have all the screenshots. I came to Yelp and my heart sank when I saw a number of other people say the same thing. My only recourse now is to provide transparent reviews and take legal action. It bums me out because Jeff has done work for me before and has always been nice. But I cannot say this more clearly: DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY. I'll preface this review by saying Jeff is a good dude. He loves and takes care of his family and friends. Unfortunately he's a terrible business owner and ppf installer. He had my Model y for a month and even after that the full ppf was only about half done and what was done was poor. In addition to the ppf, tint on front windows has scratches and bubbles. Found out he and his crew had a big LA Metro job that limited his time. He kept putting me off. Not showing up to the shop multiple times. There was even a time where one of his guys had the keys so he couldn't open? WTH?! I ended up having to spend more money to get multiple pieces redone and to get the job finished. I know it shows he has 5 stars but read the low star reviews. This is par for the course. So many better options nearby. Only way I would adjust this review is if he refunded my money but I doubt he will. read more

Very happy with the tint on my Tesla, and very happy with the experience I received from this business.

A friend of mine referred me to Beach City Tint because he found their work to be satisfactory. I messaged the business through yelp and was able to make an appointment the next day. I scheduled an appointment for two front windows and requested a quote for the front windshield. Upon arrival, there was another individual that got there at the same time as me, but my appointment was honored and I was taken first. I was walked through the options that were available, pricing, and recommendations. I opted for ceramic tint for the front windows and front windshield. I was in and out in about 90 minutes. I followed the instructions to not open my windows for 2-3 days and parked it outside in the sun so the film can cure properly; all the bubbles and hazy parts of the film disappeared. The reason I removed 2 stars is because they left swirl marks on the top of my hood when removing windshield solution overspray and they did not remove all of the old tint fragments on the front windows prior to applying the new. I know they left the circular swirls because my car had a layer of dust on the paint and I NEVER wipe any portion of my car using CIRCULAR motions, only up-down and left-right. If anything, they should have left the overspray and had me wash my car afterwards. Now, I need to paint correct my hood to get rid of the swirls and ignore the eye sore of the new tint over the old. read more

Tech needs more practice, they scratched my paint, damaged my window (front passenger) using the cutting blade. Also called a few days after the visit to inform them of some hair bubbles trapped beneath the film. They told me it was "normal and not to worry about it". The bubbles are there to this day. read more

STOLE OVER $10,000 DOLLARS FROM ME!!!! STAY AWAY FROM JEFF ENGEL HE IS A THIEF. I was awarded judgement against him (Case No.: 20STLC02752) (see attached) in Los Angeles Court for stealing money from me in 2019, and finally this October 2021 they swept his bank account. Too bad he only had 2 grand to his name. We will just keep sweeping it now till I am paid. I paid his shop for car parts that were never received only lies after lies. Over 11 months after he cashed my check he sent the attached message blaming not paying me because his wife had cancer when she was fine. From there its been 2.5 years of dealing with this. I've taken three cars to get tinted here and the quality of work is good. However, the reason for only two stars is because this shop is completely disorganized. On one occasion, I had scheduled an appointment for tint and when I arrived, there was no record of my appointment. They were able to squeeze me in so it wasn't a big deal. Same issue on my second vehicle. My third appointment is what really turned me off. I had an appointment to get my wheels powder coated and the calipers painted. I thought I had everything worked out as far as the color, etc. however, when my wife dropped it off, there was confusion about what I wanted done. Long story short, the car sat at their shop for a week and then I got a call from the owner that they didn't have the color that I wanted and that they should be able to get it in stock in one to two weeks. I asked him if he could give me a discount for the inconvenience of not having my car for a week. He was polite and said it wouldn't be a problem. I followed up with him two weeks later and it was like he had no idea who I was or what I wanted and the conversation ended with "Let me follow up" Of course I never heard from him again. What a waste of time! I quickly found another shop that was organized and professional that provided a detailed invoice and was able to complete the job done in two days. Worst experience anyone can possibly have and DAMAGED my 2020 Aston Martin Vantage Hood, side mirror and side grill and he didn't even pay for it and charged me for the job that he never did! I took my car there back in October to get full front end ppf. Before scheduling me he asked for half of the money for the deposit and cash only lol. After about 4 days, I didn't hear anything from him I called him and he gave me an excuse to not even touch the car. I got mad a little bit but sometimes things doesn't go right so I said fine I will bring it back later. He did the same scenario 10 times again with me, drop the car off and after couple days call again sorry man with non sense excuse and pick the car. Finally after many attempted he did do the job on December. I got the car and went home. After that I realized he didn't do all the panels and lied to me ( night I picked it up it was raining so I couldn't check the car good ). I kept calling and texting him and he ignored me for almost a month. After couple weeks, 3 panels that he did ppf start pealing off. I decided to just go to his shop everyday until I find him.
