If you're considering moving to this condo because of the gym, think again! A personal trainer has practically taken over the space and turned it into her personal office. She gives exclusive classes to a select group of people and occupies the gym all day, from 5 AM to 8 PM. The deafening noise from their conversations and the complete lack of space for independent workouts make it impossible to use the gym. There's no respect for others' time or for the common area, turning the gym into a no-go zone for anyone just wanting to exercise. And if you think the office will help resolve the situation, think again! The customer service is terrible: if you need maintenance or help with issues like this, they simply ignore your emails. The lack of support and attention to residents is outrageous, and the frustration is real. The experience in that condo is far from what you'd expect. read more

Just moved out of Beach Cove Apartments after a little over 2 years, in 2 separate units. We could not have enjoyed our time and living spaces more. Definitely bittersweet leaving the perfect location of Beach Cove nestled on the Foster City lagoon. If you are lucky enough to score a waterfront unit in this complex, you will most likely have a hard time leaving too. It's hard to nail down what our favorite part of Beach Cove was, from the serene and relaxing views, to the upgraded appliances, clean and modern interiors, and quiet neighborhood--it definitely checks all the boxes! Throughout our 2 years we had nothing but positive and helpful experiences with management. Specifically Thomas, Will, and Danielle. When signing our first lease as well as when we upgraded to a waterfront unit, Thomas and Danielle supported us every step of the way and were more than accommodating. They were willing to work with us and it was evident they had more concern about ensuring their residents were taken care of rather than focusing solely on the bottom line--as many other property management companies choose to do. My friends, apartment living is tough in buildings older than the turn of the century, or not properly built to insulate against sound. To reduce running water faucet noise and maintain sanity for yourself and others, simply replace the faucet aerator. You may need to try a few for best results. I can't help you with the shower. As for my personal experience living here years ago, the moonlit nights are beautiful, the dudes playing handball in dress clothing is a sight to behold, the lagoon water is questionable, the management tries, and it's a crap shoot when it comes to your leasing consultant. I was also here during one of the firearm incidents and it was outrageous. Someone in a paddle carrying and arguing with another and thought it clever to shoot them. Then, the one shot at returned with his and shot at the first. Really wonderful neighbors and you get to see the 2nd Amendment in action by a couple of looney tunes, without regard to the safety of others living around them. As for most of the other gripes of the lesser reviews, I concur. If you luck out and find yourself among quiet, respectful, and like adults, your experience might incredibly, be tolerable, but don't bet on it. You may have to pay a bit more elsewhere, but it's a better bet. read more

I have not considered leaving a yelp review for Beach cove because it is one of those places that when you find it and enjoy what a nice place it is you kind of want to keep that to yourself, but today I decided to change that due to an extremely surprising and pleasant experience. The experience was surprising due to the fact I grew up in NYC most of my life and when you forget something somewhere it is usually gone forever. Especially if it is your camera bag with all your valuable items I would consider it gone for good but someone in the community found my bag and returned it to the office. The reason I include this information is because I can honestly say this is a safe community. As for the amenities you can walk the property (actually enjoyable), hit the lagoons (Kayak, SUP, electric Boat) , full gym with free weights (rare), pool , tennis courts that are actually free 90% of the time, and overall the entire place is pretty enjoyable. The office and grounds employees are 5 star without a doubt and always on top of things. Plain and simple it is an outstanding , safe and relaxing place to live. The type of place that has everything you could ask for and dollar for dollar there is not a better deal in the area for what you get in return. The area surrounding the community is outstanding , the pictures I included are of the actual property and the fireworks you can see from the property every year! read more

Don't ignore the 1 star reviews. There's a good chance the 4&5 star ones are fake. Every unit is having the same issue -- No sound isolation (noisy neighbors), Spiders/Silver Fish, Zero customer service once you signed the lease and are legally stuck. In my case I've tried, and tried, and TRIED to get a resolution to my neighbor's dog barking literally all day and night (the beast seems to only sleep a few hours). I got a couple pat answers from the staff and then simply ignored from then on. Now I'm just waiting out my lease and am happy to pay $100s more to just be out of here and away from this house. I do find spiders from time to time (say once a month) and silverfish and carpet beetles too (at first I thought it was bedbugs, but now I think they're not). So take heed of all the warnings here, this place will charm you with a sweet lease and then treat you like you're just a burden or squatters from then on. I've attached an image of correspondance, you'll notice there is often a month or so of time before they even answer, after multiple messages. It's futile to try and get them to care. read more

Lived here for quite a few years. Place is good but current management has gone down hill. They are very rude and unprofessional. They will try anything to avoid giving your security deposit back when you move out. They charge you for carpet cleaning even if they have to renovate the entire apartment. Live there 5 years, should have moved sooner, my mistake. Ok location of apartments, close to I-101 and I-92, definite plus was promenade on the bay shore. Unfortunately, No more access because of the endless construction of the Berlin wall along the shore, effectively blocking access to the water. Speaking of the construction, apartments are investment property that required construction-reconstruction, big chunk of the parking blocked for the construction things. And surely constructions they do, day and often late evening. If you work remotely nose is no help or pleasure, for the Team meetings just keep doors and windows shut. WORST MANAGEMENT EVER!!!! I've been living here for 3 weeks and have only been able to park in my assigned parking which I pay for, only for 3 days! The management has done NOTHING about it. They say they don't know who the owners of the multiple cars that park there everyday and put up signs saying if they don't remove the car it will be towed plus the additional signs with towing warnings. When I requested the car to be towed I was informed by Will that and I quote " we don't tow cars here, those signs are only to scare people" and when I requested his boss to allow the car to be towed I was also informed that they don't tow cars. I'm paying for something that I'm not able to use. They would rather allow someone that doesn't even legally live here use the spot than the actual tenant that pays for it. Worst service ever, I wish I could move out immediately, I don't recommend this place to anyone! Wish I could give less than 1 star. Staff were ironic with me and rude! read more

Update: It's been a year living at Beach Cove Apartments and it continues to be a pleasant stay. My review stands the same or even better than before. Would definitely recommend this place! Beach Cove leasing has been by far our best experience. My past experiences had me believing that leasing agents don't care about tenants and only bother about the money. But it has been the complete opposite at Beach Cove. Our leasing agent, Thomas, has had our best interests in mind and takes the extra 200% effort In getting us the best deal. He has been extremely helpful, resourceful and considerate. She keeps rolling her eyes for whatever questions you ask or need help in navigating with process at beach cove(I feel this is some sort of discrimination). I have been a resident for the past 5 years and I have never met anyone who is as stupid as this person, she doesnt want to listen to what the question is or the problem the resident is facing, she simple talks non-stop and cuts the other person(stupid arrogant women) off. I went to the front desk asking for details on how to rent the clubhouse, omg the kind of attitude she showed left me fuming just to give answers on the process. Have been a resident here for a few years. The remodeled apartments are amazing with built in wine fridge and nice appliances. Thomas, who works in the office, listens and attends to anything that you need! Always tries to find the best unit for you and really makes living in the complex a pleasure. I have lived at Beach Cove for over half a year and have enjoyed my experience thus far. I had a pretty negative experience at my previous apartment in Emeryville, so comparatively, Beach Cove definitely meets all my expectations. I have a dog, so it's fairly important to me that the community is consistently well kept and clean as I want to feel safe and sound walking my dog. Maintenance always comes within 24 hours of my request. I appreciate that leasing office communicates with you when they plan on entering, and overall, they have been helpful and quick to respond. My only concerns are that the walls are thin and my apartment doesn't get much natural light in, but it hasn't been too much of an issue for me. Also, I think the weight room can definitely use an upgrade, but can't expect too much from an apartment gym. I'll update this review once I renew my lease, but as of now, I would definitely recommend this place for it's value and comfortable living. read more

Beware of living here. If you're looking for a quiet place to live, this is NOT the place for you. I know that nowhere is completely quiet, but living here is nothing but LOUD, screaming kids at ALL hours of the day. No parent supervision EVER. They let their kids run wild, SCREAMING, destroying the plants, trees, bushes with no consideration whatsoever to any of the neighbors. I have been staying in Beach Cove for the last 1 year and have nothing good to say about this community. Ok, may be the only good thing is its location-close to Catamaran park, Ranch 99 & Starbucks. BC is a pretty big community and as a result the service requests don't get attended on time and this is a big problem because the apartment and appliances are in a poor condition. The stove stopped working 4 times in last 12 months and dishwasher stopped working twice. The laundry rooms are a whole different story.. I lost count of the number of times our clothes didn't dry because of a broken dryer. There is always a big puddle of water outside the apt when it rains. And there is constant noise outside most days from either lawn mowing or leaf blowing or some repairs in the next apartment. I know this is routine stuff, but it will be a big deal if you are sensitive to noise or try to work from home. I have 3 outstanding service requests as I write this review. For the amount of rent they charge and the frequent rent increases they do, the quality of apartments/service doesn't even come close. read more

Every year service becomes worse. Now it's a point when i suppose to share my experience of living here to prevent new casualties. It was June when workers started to fix a concrete. I was nine month pregnant and every day i use to get a headache from noise and chemical dust which was everywhere. Of course, nobody warned us about this!!! I supposed to do a wet cleaning every day. Now it's the end of November and they still continue a reconstruction. First two weeks of November our windows were taped with double plastic because of the painting works. No fresh air at all, so every day i took a walk with my baby, and we patiently have been waiting for 11th of November. That is the time they made a notice everything should be completed. Week after everything was done (how i thought) when i was feeding my baby a stranger claimed on my balcony, i was so scared, for my luck he was a painter. Now i'm so stressful because don't feel any privacy, don't feel safe in my own apartment. People, please, DO NOT RENT AN APARTMENT HERE!!! Their service doesn't worth your money. read more

My wife and I were placed here by my employer. We spent 7 months here and LOVED it. We had a waterfront 1 bd apartment. After 3 months we had to pay the rent ourselves and although waterfront units are quite a bit more money, we felt it was worth it. My wife loved that there is a STARBUCKS within WALKING Distance :)) Grocery store, nail salon, Post Office, parks, and dining all a very short walk from Beach Cove. From our 2nd floor balcony we just loved seeing the kayakers, electric boats, canadian geese, ducks, dragon boats etc using the lagoon. It really made for a serene home. We also loved seeing all the jets on approach to SFO. Being a fan or airplanes we always had something to entertain us. Parking - its all carport or uncovered. You only get one carport stall in a 1 bd so we had to fight for a free "visitor" space in the evening. Sometimes it was a long walk if the second car came home late. Someone in an earlier review mentioned spiders. I only saw 3 my whole 7 months there. Spiders live in every corner of the planet earth. Learn to deal with it. Someone mentioned thin walls. We couldn't hear any of our neighbors except when the Giants or 49ers were playing. The folks below us were BIG fans so we kinda knew who was winning or losing. Aside from that, I don't agree about the walls be thin. We never heard a peep from the people on the three sides of us. We found the office staff to be quite pleasant. Kathy & Erica were always eager to please and took care of things right away. The grounds are well kept and repairs happen pretty timely. Oh, and on the subject of "parking lot trash" (I noticed someone posted a photo), the black crows that live in the pine trees feast on the garbage left in the dumpsters. I would see them scavenging regularly in the mornings with seagulls waiting on the sidelines. This could be fixed with upgrades to the trash areas and covered dumpsters (and people who would actually close the lids). These places are kind of small. We moved because newlyweds combining homes need more space. Even their 2 bd apartment was too small for us otherwise we would have taken a waterfront 2 bd and stayed. I think the 2 bd was about 970 sq ft. Laundry rooms are spacious and kept clean. Very busy on the weekend. Loading the payment card was a pain in the butt, particularly when the card reader in our building stopped working. Took forever to fix. Overall, we would stay here again and be happy about it. read more

I live here for 3 years. Each year it gets worse. Management here is horrible. I will give you few examples of classic BeachCove. June 2014, they sent workers to fix walkways and they not informed any resident. All the dust coming out of walkway machines went in apartments.... WTH! Tell me so i can close all windows and hide flowers. Fail #1 Feb 2014, in the morning i woke up and saw worker watching in my bedroom!! I live on 2nd floor!! WTH! I was naked and wife was scarred. BeachCove decided to paint something without notifying. Fail #2 Maintenance is horrible as well. I call 2 times them to re-fix fixed things. Fail #3. November 2014, Scheduled painting of outside walls was over. They have asked to remove all things from balcony during painting. So painting is over, we moved all things back. A week after painting is completed. My wife was home with kid. Without notification, without asking, some guy jumping on my balcony(2nd floor). WTH! Is it criminal? Should i call police? Freak. The guy break in my balcony without notice. Turns out it was a painter. Everything i got from management "We are sorry, next time we will notify you." I don't need your "Sorry". I need to feel safe and be treated as customer of your apartments. Fail #4 Thanksgiving day 2014, quite awesome day. You have nice mood and feel Thanksgiving in the air. 12 pm workers came and started fixing floor on 1st floor, right under my apartment. Till 3 pm they were working.... Loud, noisy machines, hammer works.. Hell. Thanksgiving mood is destroyed. Spoken with workers, answer i got "Manager said to complete work, we don't care about Thanksgiving." Fail #5. The units are cold, dark and not insulated. The lease says they can do construction when they need to and they do, all the time, every single day. Living here is a continuous assault of loud noises, vibrations, toxic smells and banging. On top of the construction, there are loud leaf blowers that smell like burnt rubber. Every week our car is covered in the debris they blow around, even during the wildfires when there was ash and other particulates in the air, he was out there blowing it all around. Every time someone turns water on in any apartment you will hear it and feel the vibrations the entire time the water runs. Walls are paper thin. I have lived here a long seven months and have had 2 hot showers in that time. These buildings are very old and we constantly wonder what we're paying for. The windows all face one side, which means you get very little light even on the brightest days. At first glance the amenities seem appealing but they don't mention you share them not only with the 400+ other units in this complex, but with two other apartment complexes as well, and they close at 6pm when they are open, which they haven't been for months. We were told the heated pool would be opening within 2 weeks when we moved in. That was June and it has remained closed all summer and fall when local Covid restrictions were lifted. Our unit faces a parking lot and we get to hear car doors slamming at all hours, car alarms going off yet we don't even have one of the 10 parking spaces right outside our apartment. Some of the people in the office are responsive and at least seem to care about the quality of life here, another is so rude and arrogant it's almost amusing. This is a nice place for the price, as far as Foster City goes. One bedroom apartment for $1350 a month. We moved after a year and 3 months because they wanted to charge us $300 extra to stay month to month, instead of signing a lease. We got back about half of our $500 deposit, I think they charge about $200 for cleaning regardless of how nice you left it. It is fairly quiet here, but of course that depends on your neighbors. Our unit faced the parking lot (building 715), so we could hear kids playing and bouncing basketballs a lot. The apartments form a circle around the parking lot, so noises like that bounce off the walls and amplify, as do neighbors having parties. Other cons: -Lots of spiders! I have never had a problem with spiders like this anywhere else, I didn't even know there were so many different species in California. I would invest in an exterminator before you move in. -The summers were miserable. Yes, windy Foster City and I thought I was going to die, even when it was only 75 degrees out. We were on the second floor though, but I can't believe how hot it got in there, even with all windows open, and several fans blasting. -Lots of temporary work done after people move out. Paint peeling off of drawers, handles falling off, horrible caulking in the shower, along with cracks in the actual plastic walls of the shower. Maintenance does come fairly quickly to fix things, but again, they have this "a little tape should fix it" attitude and go for economical solutions that will not last long. Be diligent about documenting this stuff when you first move in. -Expensive water and waste fee, which is based on the whole building, not just your own usage. So even if you try to conserve water, your bill might be high because you are sharing the bill with someone who doesn't. -The parking can be irritating on the weekends or late at night. As someone mentioned, they give you one spot for a one bedroom, and there were two of us, so either of us had to struggle with the visitor parking lot. There are less spaces than it appears, unless you like cleaning mass amounts of bird poop off of your car. So...most people go for the ones with no trees overhead in front of the tennis court, or street parking. -No pets Pros: -Our experience with management was very pleasant. They really do try to help you, although there isn't much they can do if you have a legit noise complaint. -Good storage space. I was surprised to see a nice walk in closet in a fairly inexpensive one bedroom apartment. -Decent laundry rooms, although Sundays for example, you will have a hard time finding a vacant one. They have cameras, too, and I never had anyone steal anything. -Mail man was friendly and usually left my packages on the porch, and I never had anything stolen. -They give free classes in the gym twice a week I think...stuff like Zumba or pilates. I never went though. Just the fact that they have a gym is also nice...a few treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and basic weight equipment. read more

Beach Cove apartment is the best place to live in with beautiful lagoon view. We stayed here for almost 2 years and never had any kind of problem while staying. The management and the maintenance team are damn good. They are very sincere with their work,very quick response to mails, phones or anything.Really appreciate their work. Its a beautiful and calm place with two tennis court,swimming pool,gym and all kind of amenities. Its very close to all kind of shops there like costco, safeway, ups, target, cvs,ranch and many more almost everything is near by. Property management handled our complex issue with a high level of customer service. We have lived at Beach Cove for 2 years now and enjoy the experience. In January 2020 a pipe below our building became blocked by roots. This caused a significant amount of damage, and some flooding in our bathroom. This was not a quick fix and would require heavy labor to resolve. Danielle (property manager) bent over backwards to take care of me, my wife, and our dog while our bathroom was unusable. We offered a number of different accommodations while the bathroom was fixed, all of which were more than fair on us as tenants. Clean up and repair was organized within a week, and full use of our bathroom was returned within 10 days of the initial incident. It is hugely inconvenient not having a bathroom, so I am grateful for the level of care Danielle and her team showed. Looking forward to another year here. read more

I have been living @ beach cove since July of 2018, I have found the office to be extremely helpful and responsive to my questions. I have requested to have service in my apartment and was quickly answered and the service was conducted in a short time. Michelle from the office has been a pleasure to work with on my original lease as well as with the the new lease for a larger apartment. The complex is quiet, amenities are nice, the other tenants are respectful. I will continue to rent here as they have met and exceeded my expectations, many of the negative reviews on here seem far-fetched and inaccurate. Kind and excellent service. Thomas in the leasing office has been so helpful to me and my husband in our search for a new apartment. He went above and beyond, taking the time to get to know us and to tell us about the pros and cons of various units based on our specific, personal criteria. He showed us apartments on several different days, was very responsive to questions in between our visits, and was very thoughtful in his answers to our questions. In addition to his warm and welcoming demeanor, he was also extremely knowledgable about the property. He even pointed out that in a tree outside one of the apartments we were looking at, there was often a woodpecker - which delighted me and my husband as wildlife enthusiasts! It was a joy getting to explore new home possibilities with Thomas. He and the whole staff also made us feel safe from a COVID perspective, always wearing a mask, respecting social distancing, and using plastic shielding around desks in the management office. My wife and I live here for about 2 years. It's a nice community and the price was good for a one-bedroom. Management or staff turnover is quite high but the maintenance supervisor sticks around. The only problem I have is that we are allocated only one covered parking lot for one bedroom unit. All other vehicles must park at the visitor parking - near the leasing office - which is a walk for me. Fortunately there are lots of open (un-covered) parking lots that I park at. Nobody seems to care as long as you don't take someone else spot. Like the place.. quiet and near Ranch market. read more

We rented a one bedroom apartment for two months and could not have been more impressed with the service, the amenities and the looks and condition of the unit we rented. Service: was flawless, our rentingagent, Thomas Smith, was outstanding in every way, he was helpful, patient, knowledgeable and the customer comes first attitude. The amenities: there was a very nice pool near our unit but, what really caught our attention was the fitness center, it is a quipped like a private fitness club, everything that one needs for a workout is there: treadmills, weights, stationary bikes, rowing machines etc is there. In addition there is another room that I think it's call the Whalers room ( ask Thomas about it), is furnished very nicely and with big tv screen. Is almost like a nice library room. The unit: we had a one bedroom,recently remodeled apartment. Kitchen had new appliances, leaving room came with a nice touch :crown moldings. If you are looking for an apartment that offers several location options, on the water or garden view, with good looking apartments and exceptional service, Beach Cove is the place you are looking for. STELLAR SERVICE CONTINUES: We moved out of Beach Cove apartments 5 months ago but the great costumer service continued. A package was delivered to our former apartment, the preset tenants took it to Thomas Smith in the rental office. Thomas took it from there, he got our present address ( we are no longer in San Mateo County) and shipped it to us. Thomas is a tremendous asset to the organization, a professional who can give clinics on what consumer service is all about. read more
