1 Star -- Completely Unprofessional and Unqualified "Groomers" Who Shouldn't Be in Business Avoid BeachDogGroomer at all costs. They lack both the skill set and the integrity to handle real grooming work. If your dog isn't already "show ready," don't bother--this place only wants perfect, easy cases so they can rush through as many dogs as possible. I had a confirmed 2:00 PM appointment, but they called me at 11:00 AM asking me to come early. I rearranged my entire day and went out of my way to accommodate them--only to have them call after I left and say they "can't" groom my dogs unless they completely shave them bald. I was explicit when I dropped them off: one dog had a hot spot, and I asked for that spot to be trimmed and blended, not a full shave. My labradoodle has manageable matting that any competent groomer could brush out. Instead of doing the job, they claimed it would take "an extra hour." In other words, they were too lazy to actually groom. When I pushed back, they suddenly said my smaller dog was "biting"--a complete lie, since she was calm and friendly when I dropped her off. It's obvious they just didn't want to put in the time or effort. This is what happens when you have unskilled, corner-cutting groomers who overbook, rush jobs, and take no accountability. They called me back and told me to come pick up my dogs--two days before Christmas, after wasting hours of my time. BeachDogGroomer is the definition of lazy, unprofessional, and dishonest. They'll shave your dog instead of grooming it, blame the pet for their own lack of ability, and then make you pay for their mistakes. If you love your dogs, do not bring them here. They should be ashamed to call themselves groomers. One star because there's no ability to give stars. Don't bring your dog here!!!!! I took my dog here to get her nails trimmed and he was so rough with her. I ask if I could help hold the dog still but he said he was fine. He cut the nails so bad my dog was barking for help and trying too get away from him. He was wiping blood off the table and using the cauterise stick to seal up the nail vain. The lady groomer before was good at trimming nails. I don't know who this guy is. I will never bring my dog back here for any services after this. read more

I made an appointment a week in advance for my dogs, who have been here once before. My first experience was not that great with all of my dogs very nervous when I picked them up. This time one of my dogs bolted for the door and ran outside, was shaken and visibly scared. Their door opens up to a main street. After asking how long it would take I was told 5-6 hours. I walked out of the place with my dogs. They were going to cage them for the entire day, with only one person there to groom 10 dogs Yikes. Clearly mismanaged, under staffed and they cut one of my dogs face the last time and never told me. The owner called the day before to make sure I was on time, what a joke. He never called to tell me he was understaffed. I strongly recommend against this place. My dogs usually love the groomer, but not this place. read more

Just wanted to give an update about my interaction and service I receive from Beach Dog Grooming as it has been a few years since I left a review. Upon updating, I was appalled to read some of the recent reviews that customers left and after reading them, I realized these reviews were about a certain "man" working there who I don't know or have any knowledge of. It was very sad to read these reviews and I hope the problems can be fixed as all of our pets are family to us all. I use a lady named Mami there for as long as I can remember and I have never once encountered any problems with my dog. She comes there happy to see Mami and leaves happy and well washed and groomed. To those of you who didn't like the service there, maybe give Mami a try or talk with her and I'm sure you will enjoy and respect her service and the way she handles your pet with love and care. Ive been taking my two poodle for 5 yrs now and Mami is tbe groomer who i can only trust. She treat my dogs so gentle and does detail grooming because they are 14 yrs old and hard to groom and needs extensive care. Recently they hired new groomer and guy groomer are not good... so dont go with guy groomer. But Yayyyyy Mami is back in business and shes working every day except monday. This is a long over due review since I've been coming here for almost 3 years. I've never had any problems here,the service is great!friendly professional staffs and they're always on time. My dog used to hate going to the groomers but not to this one! If you love your pet, you should never take your pet to this groomer's. My friend took her Pomeranian here to get groomed for the first time, since she moved farther away from her usual groomer's. To her surprise, her little Bear came back with multiple spots of missing fur and exposed raw skin. The groomer knew what she did to my friend's pet as well, because as soon as her Pom got returned to her, the groomer said "oh your dog has these spots because he scratched himself." From the way the wounds looked, and the location, it was definitely at the fault of the groomer's. Even after confrontation, they didn't even discount/refund the grooming fees. An apology wasn't even given. The experience at this groomer's was a huge disappointment and a danger to all pups who gets groomed here. read more

I've been bringing my 3 pups for awhile. Mami is such a sweet and caring person. She treats me and my dogs with respect. So this one star has nothing to do with her. I recently went and unfortunately she wasn't there, but the owner was, an older man. First he looked annoyed at the fact that I came in wanting nail trim service for my dogs (which Mami happily does). He was so rough with one of my dogs, that she kept crying. I felt so bad, so I had asked him it's ok but can he please stop. On top of that there were other dogs there barking and he was yelling at them to shut up. I told him even though I stopped him midway that I would still pay. He got so angry with me and started yelling at me to never come back again and to take my dogs to the vet to get their nails trimmed. I was shocked, I couldn't believe he was so angry, and treating a customer like this. My intention was not to offend him, I just felt so bad that my 1 year pup was crying so much (she never does with Mami). I will never go back there again or recommend this place to anyone. I've been coming to Beach Dog Grooming for years now. I only trust the owner here to groom my dogs. One of them is an Afghan Hound with a difficult personality, so it's hard to find someone who does not get intimidated by her. I never have to repeat my request because he knows exactly what would look great on them. In fact, he suggested that my Afghan only needs a trimming every few visits. I really appreciated his consideration. It's not only friendly on my wallet but I can tell he truly cares about my dogs. I went here today to get my partner's Shih Tzu groomed. They greeted me and were very kind when I went to drop off Candy. They explained the services she would receive today and the price. They did notify me ahead of time that they were a bit behind and to expect her pick up time to be later. I picked her up 2.5 hours later and she looked gorgeous. They have great practice grooming Shih Tzus and my overall experience here was amazing. I would 100% recommend coming here because they provided great service for a great price. I paid $50 to have her shampooed, groomed, ears cleaned, and nails clipped. The price will vary depending on dog and tip isn't included, so please tip them! I have two shih tzus that I have been taking to Beach Dog for several years now. And I have yet to be disappointed! My first dog hates being touched around the face and is quite squirmy in general. When I take her anywhere else, she either comes back with a choppy, uneven cut or gets razor burns. One groomer even complained to me about her inability to stay still... The staff at Beach Dog never complain and my dog comes out perfectly cut and scratchless. Beach Dog asked us once how we wanted our dogs cut. Now every time we bring them in, we never have to repeat our requests (unless we ask for adjustments, which they are more than happy to take note)! I love being able to just drop them off and not worry about how they are going to look. My second dog will walk right into their arms and he doesn't even like to be bathed! So I know they are treated right. Their prices have gone up since I first went in, but who's hasn't?? And I guess business is booming for them because sometimes I have to wait a month before I can get an appointment! But I would rather pay the extra couple bucks and wait the extra weeks than take them anywhere else. :) Just be sure to plan ahead and make that appointment well in advance! FYI, they apparently went "cash only". Not sure if it is a temporary thing or permanent, but I would double check when making that appointment. read more

Beach dog grooming is great! They really do a great job with small dogs. We like our doggies cut really short and they're able to do this while keeping them looking great. We have tried many different groomers in the Torrance and Gardena area and they really haven't been able to do great of a job. They love and take care of the dogs as well. Really highly highly recommend! The only thing I would say is that they increase their prices every year which is tough especially when you're a loyal customer. read more

I've been taking my Lhasa Apso here for over 6 years now. They are very gentle, thorough, they do EXCELLENT work, and the staff is very pleasant. They put bows on Mackenzie that flatter her or even coincide with the season (red for Christmas or orange at Halloween) and they even send Mackenzie post cards for the holidays. Seriously? This place own 5 stars on yelp?i made the reservation ahead asked about price they told me no price until they see the dog. Before I get the estimate they told me groomer can do the poodle teddy bear cut for sure. Then I bring my poodle here show to the Japanese lady the sample pics how I want to cut plus explain very detail about each parts because I don't trust our English communication. Be honest that's only trim job!!! When I pick my dog I barely can't believe it's him!!!!! I show the pics again to groomer lady, ask are they similar? She said yes! OMG!!!!!! Since almost 5pm I don't want argue with her anymore and my dog don't have any major hurt or scratch something. I still left the tip but will never ever come back to this place again! My dog has been going there for 5 years..I went today for his monthly grooming appt to learn that they were under new management..Needless to say, I was distraught when I saw him..he looks HORRIBLEEEE!!!..his cut is crooked, they didnt trim his tail, they cut hair off the back legs but didnt cut the front..they cut too much off his face not to mention one side is shorter than the other..the trim around the paws looks zig-zagged, didnt trim or cut the stomach area around the butt..he looks a mess..I'm so embarrassed and hurt..not to mentioned it was dirty and smelled...I have always been so pleased and excited when I would pick him up...My dog luvs his groom days and is use to getting pampered by them but not today, I wanted to cry..They wont be cutting my dog ever again!!!!..if I could give a zero rating I would..my friend ask me 3 times if I wanted to go back and get him bcuz something just didnt sit right with her...we continued to get some shopping done..I called and told her I'll just send them pictures and to please keep his shape, just a trim....he looks nothing like the pictures anymore of course his hair will grow back...I also kno that if u cut this particular breed wrong it wont grow the same...I'm just hurt because I trusted them and paid my money for some junk.. read more
