This is a very nice park. It has a lot of parking by the marina. I would come here just to watch the planes fly by since it's so close to SeaTac airport. It's kind of fun to be able to just sit and watch the planes fly by and play a game with yourself to guess which airline it is. While a large percentage of them are Alaska airlines planes you can catch a Lufthansa, American, ANA, etc. If you're the outdoorsy type, there are a few walking paths and you can walk on the pier as well and basically stand out in the middle of the water. It's perfect for people watching. You can catch fishermen and fisherwomen, scuba divers and people in boats, runners, and people searching around for treasures down in the shells. It's really a place for most anyone to find something to keep busy with. You can just sit and relax and listen to the sound of the waves gently wash in if you like the simpler side of life. I'd say it's probably one of my favorite parks. read more

Great little park that has plenty of things to offer, along with the surrounding marina and trail. The marina hosts the farmer's market (which is pretty okay) as well as other events through out the year, while the beach park it self gives you easy access to the water and beyond during low tide. Do not swim in this water. Seriously. There's also a long pier, part of the marina area, where people enjoy crabbing and fishing off of. Low tide will yield several delightful sea creatures for your viewing pleasure. The park also has the benefit of a large grass area, which is used for all sorts of events during the summer months. Beyond that there's a very nicely maintained, paved trail. The over all area is a nice place to get out and enjoy the fresh air while there are a bunch of little cafes/restaurants all along to main road. read more

I came here to walk off the wonderful lunch I had at the Chinese restaurant a few blocks up the street. This is a beautiful little park but it seemed very strange that they charge to enter this tiny park but on the other hand there are a few amenities that makes it attractive; a walking trail, a bridge, a beach, a few benches and a few ducks swimming in the creek under the bridge that's meandering to the sea... read more

Des Moines Beach Park is a nice park for a stroll. When the tide is out, there's countless ocean life you can discover if you look closely! Walking on the tide can be a little tricky, so be careful. There's also a very long dock for ocean fishing. You can get really out into the water and it can be pretty deep. There's not much to do besides walking along the coast and around the water for nice views. read more

Once again, Yelp comes in handy for finding places to visit. We had a few hours to spend before our next stop so I looked for nearby parks and found this place. I think the name is what attracted me most. It's a marina and it's by the ocean and it's really nice. I found some shells and beautiful rocks. We walked along the boardwalk and took some time to watch the birds and ducks hanging out in the water. Not too many people here which is a plus. A great place to come relax and enjoy nature. I wanted to enjoy my lunch near the water and this park showed up :) it's so quiet and not too busy, but I'm not sure because it's a weekday. It was low tide and I walked out carefully onto the rocks. There are many places to sit and chill out. I wanted to walk the 2 mile trail but I didn't want to go alone, don't like to take chances . What a gorgeous park! I came here with my dog and it was such a nice walk. Great views of the ocean and the trail was nice and relaxing. The park is maintained well and clean. The marina area is beautiful with benches along the way. For dog owners, it's a great place to walk! There are poop bag stations along the way and I didn't see an issue with owners not picking up after their dogs. I went on a weekday and there were lots of people there that day. If your dog is okay with being in an environment with a lot of stimuli (children running around, joggers, skateboarders, lots of people in general), it's a wonderful park. My dog is a social butterfly so he absolutely loved this park and the attention he received from the walkers along the way! read more

Great place to bring the kids and teach them about nature. Very peaceful and serene not a lot of people which is good. Awesome place to watch the tide or even go for a run on the trail. If you're not from around here then it's fun to just walk around and read the history from the area and location. read more

Such a nice relaxing place with plenty of free parking and historic charm. This is the "birthplace of Des Moines" according to one of the signs near the beach trail. Great view of the sound and huge grassy area to play or sit on the benches and have lunch at the tables. There is also a great trail attached to the park that goes along the river. I often run down here. They're starting to charge for parking which is great IMHO cause maybe it'll help keep the rugrats out. $1 an hour unless you're a local you can get an annual pass for $30. Beautiful and clean. I wish dog people would carry dog bags so they would pick up their dog poop. read more

The Beach Park Event Center is in a great location - right next to the Des Moines Marina and the beach, can't beat it. The main event center and other spaces are truly unique not to mention historical. I've been to a number of local Chamber events and a Holiday party here and they all really well done. The newly renovated spaces here lend themselves to almost any type of event and come with small kitchen areas for catering preparation. This was a great park. Plenty of parking. I walked around the beach and onto the pier. Then walked along the little trail. Its well maintained and well marked. It was cooler that day and even on Thanksgiving it wasnt packed. They have buildings you can reserve for functions as well. read more

I got married at the Beach Park Auditorium on April 11th, 2015. i was so thankful for the helpful staff that runs the venue. They made my entire wedding experience so enjoyable. They even helped me rent tablecloths and chairs through their vendors. I called almost daily the couple weeks leading up to my wedding with questions for them. This review is solely on their staff. Our venue was beautiful and I couldn't have asked for a better spot. We held our reception at the dining hall. Back to their staff. In the beginning, all seemed well. As we got closer to our wedding the person who we originally dealt with no longer worked there. After a second direct contact, that person was eventually replaced by yet again a new employee. A couple of other employees ended up assisting us a couple of times and they were somewhat helpful. If you want to have your wedding here, have PAPER TRAIL for everything. Don't get me wrong; they were friendly. Just not efficient. We arrived on time and nothing was set up even though in the email stated clearly that they would have the tables set up, chairs on the lawn and the tent outside for the DJ. That was part of the deal which they did not deliver. I didn't wanna stress about it so I just let them work without saying a word to the person in charge who by the way gave a pretty huge attitude towards my husband. And lastly, they told us that our guests wouldn't have to pay for parking but yet about half of them had to. If I were super petty I would've asked for reimbursement but I still had a great wedding. I just wished things were ready when they were supposed to be. So..... if you're thinking of having your wedding at this park or their venues, have everything in writing. I cannot stress that enough. Be thorough with them. Ask all the questions. GOOD LUCK. read more
