Great service and nice staff. Grooming a Shiba Inu is not an easy job, but they nailed it beautifully. We have been bringing our dog here for almost 6 years.
Had a really good experience with our past couple groom appointment for our Cavalier. First thing I noticed when I walked in was how quiet the shop is, there are no stressed out dogs here. They also keep the dogs in kennels that are in the front of the store so the dogs are able to look out and watch the others. I love this set up for more anxious dogs. You can tell that everyone that works here truly loves dogs. They have all been so patient and understanding with our nervous dog. They also make sure to have your dog finished in a timely manner and I am never waiting hours and hours to pick up my dog which makes for a better experience overall. I can't recommend this shop enough and we will keep returning!

My poor anxious Shih tzu has been turned down by at least 3 other groomers because they couldn't get her to calm down. She get's so frightened by scissors. Beach Paws was referred to me by a neighbor and I am so glad I found them. They were quick to communicate and find a date that works for both of us, they were great with coco too. She fear bites/nibbles when she gets nervous and they worked with her despite that and I am so gracious of them. Thank you so much to each of your workers for taking the time to kindly groom Coco!! It was difficult for me for the first time to find a good place to park in the lot, it's kinda hidden in interesting building warehouse district area.
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! Cari is the best! She gave my puppy the best and cutest cut but, most importantly, Cari was so sweet and gentle with my fur baby. I had previously taken my pup to a place closer to home and they were so horrific. I didn't know at the time but, they had other bad reviews about them being abusive and rough while grooming dogs. My pup was traumatized so, I waited a very long time before grooming again. Thank God for Beach Paws and Cari because my dog so well taken care of and got a beautiful cut! Thank you for taking care of my girl!

There are a few times we've switched it up in terms of shorter or longer and they're really good at adjusting depending on what you want. His main groomer is Robin and she's excellent! The biggest thing I appreciate is that you can feel that they care about your pet and that it's not just a business. Every time we pick Pepper up we get an update on how he did and whether there's any areas he was sensitive to. One time, when we had an appointment closer to closing time, we came to pick Pepper up and instead of having him in the crate, they let him roam around in the back. Beach Paws did a great job on my nervous little dog friend today. He hadn't been groomed professionally in quite some time, and he looks fantastic...much, MUCH better than I've been doing at home, and he looks like a puppy again even though he just turned 11. He's not the easiest to deal with because he gets so stressed with people he doesn't know, but they said they didn't have trouble, and they got him finished up very quickly which I'm sure he appreciated. I could definitely get used to his new, sharp, trimmed-up look! We'll return for sure!
I have been going to Cari for a couple years and followed her here from her previous salon. My dogs always come out smelling and feeling great. My senior girl used to have issues at other grooming places before I found her but she is very patient with her and works around the things she doesn't like to make her experience less stressful. She has never enjoyed going to the groomers the way she does with Cari. My younger boy can be quite squirmy during his grooming but she is patient with both of them and somehow so efficient and quick at the same time. I have also had my dogs groomed by Karina and she is also just as amazing, kind and patient with them. I feel very blessed to not have to worry about having my fur babies groomed by them and know they are truly being pampered and cared for the entire visit. I also love the adorable thanksgiving bandanas they got!
The only salon where I trust to get my baby's haircut also love the fact that they fully dry my pets' fur completely, which I really love.

Our little Scruffy loves Beach Paws! They always take such great care of him. We took him here for his first grooming as a puppy and they made us feel comfortable and communicated so well with us despite us being a bit worried about how he'd do during his first visit. Have been going back since! Definitely recommend :)

We called for a last minute bathing appointment yesterday, and they were kind enough to squeeze my 4-month old pup, Maui, in. It was our first time in, and they were friendly on the phone and friendly when we came in. The environment was welcoming and felt like a grooming party in there with all the pups! Drea (coincidentally also my name--meant to be!) bathed Maui, and by the end, they were pals. Maui was following her around until we came to pick him up, which made me feel great about dropping him off for the first time. Maui was happy, clean, and very floofy! Highly recommended! I brought my Maltese, Elliott in and I made some special requests to keep him fluffy and to avoid cleaning his ears due to history of ear infection at previous salon and they were very cognizant of that and did such an amazing job! First time visit includes a free teeth cleaning for yelp users! Price was reasonable! Reliable and clean pet salon and the owner Robin was so professional and kind! Thank you so much! This is the best little groomer shop. The shop hidden around the back. The ladies working there are so friendly and do great work! They schedule only 1 cat at a time early in the morning, so there won't be any dogs to frighten the cats during their session. That was particularly important for me, as my cat was a rescue and totally matted. She was very scared and traumatized before I brought her to Beach Paws. They gave her an adorable lion cut. All her mats were finally gone! Since the moment she left the salon, Alula was a brand new cat! So playful and strutting around the house. She owns us now! Lol Thank you so much, Beach Paws read more

Update... Three years later, this is still the only groomer I will take Wolf to. Still consistently wonderful grooming and baths. Still the same loving and gentle care for every dog. I will continue to bring Wolf here for the remaining time I am blessed with being his Pup Mom. read more

Been meaning to write this review for a while. I've been taking my 120 pound Great Pyrenees/Maremma mix to Robin for around 3 years now. This place is EXCELLENT. I've taken her for grooming at other places and always there's fur dumping off my dog right away. Not so at Beach Paws. Everytime I take her in, literally not one strand of fur coming off my dog and it lasts this way for a while. Gracie Girl and her family thanks you! read more

Boz has been going to Robin at Beach Paws for about 9 months. We love it! Great grooming You tell Robin what u want and she listens Very clean and Boz loves coming here. You make your appt. and It's usually about 2-1/2 hours no our last groomer that would take 8 hours and I would call at 6 and he still wasn't done. read more

My first time taking my pug to get groomed to Beach Paws. The staff are all super friendly and all had smiles. I felt very comfortable dropping off my Pug here to get nails trim, brushed, bath and blow dry. I picked him up and he looked like a model! All his nails were cut, which I was happy about, unlike other places don't cut all the nails and leave some long ones. They were very detailed with grooming here. I was very happy with the services. Zeus had his first visit earlier this week.... we took him on his usual Back Bay walks and we have never been stopped by multiple strangers to tell us how well he is groomed. We always get stopped to compliment us on what a cute pup we have, but to compliment his grooming?!?! Wow! I think that goes to show people recognize great work when they see it. Beach Paws is truly the best groomer I've ever used for my shepsky mix pup, Summer! Robin and her team are truly exceptional at what they do. They run an honest, top-notch business that provides excellent service at an unbeatable price. Summer is just over 5 years old and is a gigantic ball of fluff (she's a mix of Husky, German Shepherd, Border Collie, Chow Chow, and Australian Cattle Dog, for reference). I thought previous groomers did a good job on her until I came to Beach Paws and realized how she should ACTUALLY look after a groom. I don't know what special shampoos or conditioners they use here, but Summer always comes out looking SO soft, tidy, and gorgeous. They do an excellent job with deshedding her, and people always comment on how soft and silky her coat is (even weeks after she's been groomed). It's very apparent that the staff at Beach Paws know their breeds - unlike other groomers, they would NEVER consider shaving or otherwise disrupting the coat of a pup like Summer. They usually trim her paws and will occasionally do an outline trim for her "sleeves" as I call them (I believe the proper term is "feathers"!), but otherwise focus on baths and brush outs for her. It's hard to explain, but they just KNOW how to handle her fur. I can really tell that they do an amazing job of maintaining her coat health because she doesn't shed nearly as much as one would expect on a day-to-day basis. We've been Beach Paws clients for two years now and in that time, Robin and her team have gotten to know Summer so well. The staff all know her by name and greet her with open arms, which means she's always super excited to come to the salon! (Genuinely - I say "You wanna go to Beach Paws?" and she starts doing happy spins and woofs.) They know what things she's a little more finicky about - like getting her paws trimmed - and know how to approach her to keep her calm and happy throughout the grooming. For a dog that can be really playful with others, this is a really wonderful quality to have in a grooming staff that I had to call out! On the business side of things, Beach Paws offers amazing service at a super reasonable price. Before coming to Beach Paws, I paid so much more at other groomers who didn't handle Summer nearly as well. I was shocked when they did such a great job here for less than I paid at the other places! They're also great about scheduling and rescheduling. They have automated reminders which are super helpful, and their teammates on the phone are always very responsive via either call or text. There have been one or two times where we've had to cancel at the last minute for unforeseen reasons and Robin has graciously waived any cancellation fees for us, though she'd be completely within her rights to charge them. Given that Beach Paws is a small service-based business, they miss out on income if someone cancels last minute and they can't fill that spot with another customer. With that in mind, it means so much to me that Robin and her team have been so gracious to us in these few instances. It's apparent that they truly know and care about each customer and go out of their way to provide exceptional service! I've recommended them to several folks, who have all been equally as happy with their services. Though Summer and I will be moving out of Orange County, I'll still be making the drive to take her to Beach Paws for her grooming. That's how much I trust them with her care! If they're able to take on new clients and you're looking for a groomer, get in with them immediately - you won't be disappointed :) read more

GREAT PLACE FOR YOUR CAT. I have a MaineCoone, very mild mannered but he has never been groomed before. I was looking for a place that would take care of my cat and this is the place! Not only did they do an excellent job on the cut itself, but he didn't even mind it! They kept him away from the dogs (although he was "mean mugging" them according to staff), and he left completely dry and clean. When I called, the owner answered (always a good sign), assured me Mr. Calhoun would be in good hands and worked me in for the next day. She also advised me that early appointments or late afternoon appointments were the best for cats to avoid the dogs. Great place! Great for Cats! read more
