I have been using every dawgs dream since I rescued my puppy dog Levi 4 years ago! I have used their dog walking services religiously and done two types of training classes one with Mariela and one with Sherry! My Levi had some issues which is normal for any rescue but Mariela helped me clicker train Levi which I still use to this day to just keep up on our tricks and commands! I have had a few different dog walkers through the company and all have been friendly and willingly to text me when they come and go! (Yes i am a crazy dog mom) I feel so at ease know my dog is loved and pampered when I am at works thanks to Every Dawgs Dream! Just FYI Mariela keeps a tight cancellation policy! My friend and I usually dogsit each other's dogs but it turns out we had travel plans on the same weekend and our 2 doggies needed someone to come take care of them while we were gone. After researching online and reading yelp reviews, I decided to contact Every Dawg's Dream. Right from the beginning Mariela was very fast in her correspondence and was very flexible when we had to switch our initial consultation time. When Mariela and Martha came for the consultation, our 2 dogs took an immediate liking to them, which surprised us because both dogs are rescue dogs and are usually really weary of strangers. By the end of our 30 minute consultation in which Mariela asked many questions about the behaviors and the patterns of the dogs, the 2 dogs were snuggling with Mariela and Martha. During my trip away, I got numerous updates from Martha about the dogs' well being and she also accommodated my request to open/close blinds and turn on/off lights as well as take out trash in order to make my house look occupied. When I came home, I saw daily reports that Martha had written out about her time with the dogs. Since it was our first time to hire a pet-sitter and for a 2 long weeks, we were quite anxious and picky. We needed someone who is certified in pet CPR and/or First Aid from an organization which is licensed, bonded, and insured. I signed my dog, Sparky, up for training classes at Every Dawg's Dream after reading the reviews on Yelp and studying their website and FB page, and I'm very happy that I did! After only five classes, my high-energy, easily distracted, four-pound Maltese puppy knows how to sit, lie down, settle, look, touch, and leave it--all on cue! When I first met owner/trainer Mariela, I told her, "My dog will never 'sit.'" (All he ever did was dance around on his hind legs.) But Mariela and the clicker training method proved me wrong. Sparky learned how to sit on cue in no time. I've had dogs all my adult life and have attended other types of training classes, but nothing has ever worked as quickly and easily as the clicker method. The dogs just seem to "get it" right away. (It took about three "click-and-treats" before Sparky realized that that "click" means "yummy treat.") Mariela is extremely knowledgeable and adapts the technique to each dog's specific needs. Leaving a pet home alone is not easy, but the girls at EDD do an amazing job and really make you feel like your loved one(s) are in the right hands. Mariela is a wonderful trainer, and she will give you the tools to help you train your dog with positive reinforcement and operant conditioning. I took her Manners class. It's an amazingly affordable course of 6 classes for only $175. I would totally trust her with my dog for any of her other services! Our little terrier mix rescue is a wonderful dog, but he came with some serious leash aggression and prey drive. They are group classes, but she sets up little baby gate blockades to give you and your dog training space. I let her know about my dogs leash aggression so she hung towels on them so he couldn't see the other dogs. It worked like a charm. I was surprised to discover it was clicker training. Fortunately I'd heard about it before, and knew that it is a well respected method of training, so we proceeded with the classes. She's a really energetic person and you can tell she genuinely cares about dogs. She open to answer questions about your dog even if it's not necessarily something provided in the course matter. She teaches the importance of consistency and ensuring that your dog can perform important behaviors like sit and come not just at home, but out in the world where it could save your dogs life if he were getting into something he shouldn't. After rescuing my lab Bailey about a year and a half ago, I started taking her to EDD for training classes...she had many fear issues and needed lots of confidence building. Mariela's training classes are excellent because the class sizes are small so you get lots of individual attention and tips. We have taken several classes over the past year and a half, which have helped develop Bailey into a happy and confident dog! It is so great to see how the work we've done with the help of Mariela and EDD has helped Bailey! I have also used EDD's pet sitting and walking services on several occasions. I have one that's a rescue, so he needs lots of attention and Kelly met with me for an introduction and completely understood his needs. They keep in constant contact with me and are very reachable if I have any questions. They also leave a report card for each walk/service which is very, very helpful. There was one time where I had questions on something and I left a message - Mariela called me back right away and found out the information to help me. I used their services for puppy training. They were okay but I was put on hold starting because they wanted puppy socialization and when we finally were able to start there was only one other puppy. They did a few good things like introduce my puppy to children's toys and see how they would react, but the training was kind of lack luster and the trainer was very scattered and repeated her lessons quite a bit. We didn't end up making it to the last class because we felt it was not beneficial. We need to use Mariela's services for our two small dogs under 10 lbs for a potty break when we're on vacation. Needless to say, she "bait and switched" her quote twice saying that she made 2 mistakes. Originally, she quoted us 30/day plus a 10% discount for a week. Now, she saying that's not enough time and wants at least 64/day and no discount. What? We don't agree with her recommendations. It's as if we have no choice but to follow her recommendations. Now she's saying that we need her services 3 times a day for 75/day. I have a copy of her email quoting an option for 2x/day service. She says she never gave us a 2x/day quote. She says she's not in it for the money. I disagree. This isn't a way to promote a business. Be aware how she does business. It's unethical. read more

We started using Mariela a few months ago, she is great. She is very patient (especially with us), and has totally won us over. She provides bedience training, dog walking, boarding, home intensive training and boarding, and my dogs flourish and love her and her helpers. I can't say enough about her love for all animals and her ability to train them and their owners!! I totally trust her with anytime access to my home and know I can call on her for last minutes services in a pinch. She always says YES! My husband found Every Dawg's Dream (EDD) through a web search. We have had several dog walkers over the years...one wouldn't walk in the rain, one moved away, one 'quit' the business, etc. It was becoming a bit discouraging and then we met Mariela, the owner of EDD. She is professional, warm and friendly, and certainly extremely capable. Our dog walker is Natasha, who has a very evident love for animals, especially dogs. Our dogs are both large breed rescues and one of our concerns was would someone besides us be able to control the dogs and avoid some of the local 'yahoos' who are so inconsiderate not to leash in public areas. Well, Natasha has passed the test with FLYING COLORS!!! She's excellent with the dogs and they love seeing her come through the door! She leaves a detailed note each time she walks them letting us know if they've done their 'business' and who they saw in the park. It's priceless! She also always makes sure she leaves clean drinking water for them. I have come home (with the previous dog walkers) and the water bowl has been empty. We have postponed taking vacations because we couldn't find anyone we could really trust at the house who was also reasonable and responsible. Finally, I truly believe the search is over! My partner and I just got our first puppy and after a week of hustling home to let him out, and generally upturning our lives, we came to Yelp to see what people were saying about dog walkers in the area. We made three appointments, and when Mariela showed up for our in home consultation we knew there was no choice but EDD. Mariela is incredible! She is so knowledgeable and accessible. I love this company. I have an agressive fearful doberman/collie mix and a doxie. I asked Mariela and Melissa to come to my home to see if they thought they could walk my dogs. I learned new things from them the very first day. Within 15 minutes they were petting both of my dogs! Wow. Melissa and I walked the dogs together the first two times so I could show Melissa the ropes. After that Melissa did great. She even spent two nights in my home with my dogs while I went to a wedding. It was so wonderful not to have to leave my dogs in a kennel! I've been using Every Dawg's Dream for about a year now after dealing with some really unreliable walkers in Laguna Beach, including one that left town one day and didnt tell me. I had a top notch pet sitting team in Philly where I had just moved from and I couldnt seem to find the same calibur here in SoCal until I thankfully found Mariela and her staff. My pug Charley is my baby and I'm very careful about who I trust with him. They have taken most excellent care of my boy, giving walks and love everyday and as needed - many times last minute when I have to work late or have an event over the weekend where I cant get to him in time. I also get a complete report (and sometimes a photo) of all of his activities during the visit, he gets treats and fresh water, and lots of pets. This review is coming from a first time dog owner, hopefully my experience can provide some insight to others. We adopted our terrier and wanted to start things off right by training her. Yelp reviews led us to believe Mariela was the way to go for a positive and effective way to train, after 5 lessons of group training, I came away disappointed. Clicker training uses a clicker to reinforce positive behavior, "click and treat, click and treat." This philosophy requires you to completely ignore the dog if they're misbehaving, that or toss more treats at them to distract them. Ignore them or treat them, neither approach worked to solve our dog's barking/lunging issue at other dogs. Mariela's additional solution, to become midnight walkers, was unacceptable to us. After the 5 lessons, our puppy was ok with the basics of sit, stay, touch, and follow, but in no way was ready for the real world with other dogs, other people, other distractions. We routinely practiced the lessons, but the results were slow, and in most cases went out the window when another dog came into her line of sight. Overall, the training was ok in teaching a dog new games or tricks (with a handful of treats nearby), but I would not recommend for teaching your dog to behave and listen. read more

I recently attended the Reactive Rover class with my German Shepherd. She had been very reactive to other dogs and this class gave me the tools to redirect her and gave both of us confidence to know how to handle situations with other dogs. The trainers (Mariela and Sherry) explained exercises thoroughly and were patient in directiing all of us in the class. By the time the 6 classes were finished, all the dogs in the class had changed their behaviors dramatically. I am SO happy with Every Dawg's Dream! I was worried about leaving our (anxious) poodle mix for two weeks while on vacation. I researched boarding and a few other pet sitters before deciding to give EDD a try. My first appointment with Stacy and Mariela did not look promising, as my pup barked at them almost the whole time and did not let them near him. Both ladies were patient and did not seem put off by his anxiousness. Mariela helped me after the visit by sending me some info on soothing my little guys anxiety. I scheduled a few walks prior to us leaving and Stacy walked with us to get us comfortable. Our pup was still not letting her near him before we left so I was still anxious that it would not work out. Stacy was great, sending us an update and pictures every day. She was able to get him on the leash by the second day and within 3 days, the pictures showed our little guy smiling, running and resting on her lap! I highly recommend Every Dawg's Dream. Liz and Mariela have been a great resource for me with a new rescue dog, and they provide an avenue for burning some energy off of my sweet, energetic girl (60-lb Golden Retriever). I am writing this review as a response to what I consider to be bad business. It felt like it was a "Bate and Switch" tactic. Here are how things happened. After interviewing several Dog Walking Services and ultimately I decided on Every Dawg's Dream. Mariela and one of her associates came over to the house and were very friendly and spent time playing with my two small dogs and their puppies. At that time we discussed the dog walking and care options to include number of times per day, the time needed for the visits, etc. The discussion pertained to BOTH the adult dogs as well as the puppies. Mariela later seemed to forget about this important fact! After their visit I decided to go with Mariela. Mariela was contacted to finalize everything 3 days before our trip. The very next day I receive an email from Mariela saying she NOW all of a sudden felt that I needed triple the amount of visits at a much more expensive cost. She did try to explain that she felt the puppies needed more attention and that two 15 minute walks would not be enough. I disagreed. Besides, the mom is present to address any puppy needs. So, two days before I was to leave on vacation Mariela decides to change the agreement??? That is bad business. She left me scrambling to either be forced to use her more expensive services or find other means. I felt as if she was pulling a "Bait and Switch" on me telling one thing and then changing her story shortly before I was to leave on vacation. Either way it was very bad business. The other part of the bad business was Mariela knew exactly how many dogs and puppies I had at the time she visited my home and never once mentioned at that time needing additional visits/time etc. or I would have taken that into consideration in making my final decision. She claims to be the expert in this field. Why did she wait until the last second to change everything on short notice telling me it was due to the best interest of the dogs and puppies??? Where was this conversation when we originally discussed everything??? After discussing my frustrations with her she was very little help in explaining her actions. I was left with negotiating terms with her based on the situation. Mariela proposed a couple of compromises and sent an email outlining the new choices. I was interested in one of her choices to be later told, "No, that's not what I emailed you!" I was looking at the email she sent me. She quickly replied after looking at her email to that she had made a mistake but she would not honor her emailed quote??? Again, BAD BUSINESS!!! I was forced to find other means quickly. It was embarrassing, time consuming, and stressful to say the least to try and find someone the DAY BEFORE I was to leave on vacation. Thanks Mariela for not being up front with me, then later changing things, and ultimately making me scramble for other means. read more

Mariela is absolutely the best! I was away for most of the month of July with a few short home stops, and Mariela came to take care of my two kitties. She really went above and beyond! Not only did she feed my kitties exactly according to my instructions, but she also cleaned up after them impeccably. She spent a lot of time with them, playing with them and showing them love so that they wouldn't feel lonely. Mariela really shows that she cares! She even asked if I wanted her to do anything else for me (like bring in my mail or water my plants). Just love her!!! Her love of animals is simply unsurpassed. In my opinion, Every Dawg's Dream is the best dog walking company in the Orange County area. They are reliable, helpful, accommodating, and amazing! We have been their customer for almost a year now and they have been nothing but wonderful. Here are some of the top reasons why I would highly recommend Every Dawg's Dream to anybody who needs a dog walker: 1) They are always on time. 2) They hire the best dog walkers (patient, loving, and knowledgeable) 3) They are most likely able to accommodate last minute requests for dog walking services. 4) They offer in-home bathing. Our dog loves that he can get a bath at home and Every Dawg's Dream does a very good job at cleaning him with high end non-animal tested, eco-friendly products.
