Went to dolphin saying I wanted an hour massage. They called beach they said they could get me in. I showed up 8 minutes later and told the woman I was the guy who called about the hour deep tissue massage. She said "yes come in" she then says you must pay first. I paid her and the cost was $60. I thought wow, it's cheaper than dolphin by $20. Maybe she's new. After 30 minutes she says " I done". I said no you know it's an hour. She said oh no I already have someone and can't do an hour. I said I would never pay $60 for 1/2 an hour when a full hour is $80. She said " I tell you only 30". She never did as I would never agree. I got scammed read more

I have to start by saying that the actual massage was 4 stars. The lady did make a genuine effort and gave me a very good deep tissue massage. Would have been 5 stars for it if she spoke English and understood what I was asking her to do or not to do but that's ok. Now, the rest was a disaster. The place reeks of cigarette smoke. I smelled it from the moment I opened the door. One employee was smoking in the small open space on the back (outside the building) with the door open. That employee herself reeked. She so innocently thought that because it's outside blah blah blah. No, you reek. You can't work in a spa and smoke. Just can't. I was ready to walk out but she convinced me the lady giving me the massage was not a smoker. I really needed a massage so I sucked it up and went into the room. Which also smelled like an old Vegas casino. There was only a mid size towel to cover myself. Ok, I'm not shy but that was odd. The massage felt good until about 10 minutes in when the lady tried to upsell me. Something about extra $20. Her English was really poor so I just kept saying no. Then she moved on to tell me there was a mandatory minimum $20 tip. Literally half way through my massage. I ignored her. Right on the 45th minute of the massage she cheerfully said "60 minute over". No it's not. We started at 3.38pm and I looked at my watch. I even kept it on because I suspected they'd try to pull that off. It was 4.23pm. I told her No, it's not over and she said "5 more minute?" I said "15" and she said ok. She continued until 4.38pm. The last 15 minutes was very light foot massage, basically to pass time. She really had planned on getting away with the 45 minutes. And then she charged me some mystery $2.75 fee on top of what I paid for nobody knows what. Service fee. Beach Total and Dolphin Massage. I have been frequenting both of these places for about 8 years now. They are my neighborhood spas. Beach Total and Dolphin are sister shops with the same owner. My experiences at both locations are usually positive, I cannot recall any complaints about any session I have had at either of them. There are occasional time delays and distractions, some language barrier, as is common at these places. The staff rotates frequently, also common. (Providing more variety) The massages are always decent. Session prices are on the higher side of median, given the PVB location. A table shower would be an improvement at both. Overall, convenient, local and clean shops providing a great service at both locations. If you walk in one and they are busy, drive down A1A less than 2 miles to the other location. They will direct you to do exactly that! I recommend both, especially if you are a local. I would rate 4.5 stars, if was able to on this review. read more

Years ago in perhaps a James Bond movie I saw a little Japanese lady walking on a man's back. With age you develop degenerative disc disease (the disc spaces across the 31 pair of nerve roots from the spine shrink partly due to gravity and our upright posture and maybe due to heavy lifting too). I sought out this "walk your back" and found Mrs. Cai who is maybe 90 pounds soaking wet to do it. Even still, there are two rods in the ceiling so she can balance herself and not put too much weight on the back. She has done this several times and it seems to help. She is also the manager at Dolphin. It is true that she does not have a receptionist and your massage may be interrupted by a brief call from a client or a worker but that would not last more than several minutes. She currently has staff from China and Korea and had a Japanese lady there at one time too. read more

Pros: they take walk ins, they are pretty cheap at $70 for a 1 hr massage. Helped pain. Cons: the shop can be noisy, with a bell ringing every time someone walks in and paper thin walls between rooms. They only give you a towel to cover yourself and the shop can be quite cold. Therapists have been inconsistent with different styles. For the money you get what you pay for, but I keep coming back because they have helped with pain. read more

I've been a client at Beach Total Massage since it first opened. It's convenient for me since I live around the corner but ultimately, it's the best place in Sawgrass to get a massage. You can make an appointment but I usually just walk in and they always see me. You can get a foot massage, a chair massage, or a table massage. They even have a couples room. Wonderful, professional, thorough, magical...that's my total assessment; this is exactly why... I am new to massages, but to date Lucy was the best masseuse that has worked on me. Due to chronic lower back pain and sciatic nerve issues I have been having debilitating pain practically paralyzing me at times. About two months ago it was suggested by my doctor to begin a series of massage treatments as chiropractic may be too aggressive for my condition. I have been to a national chain service twice, too a resort hotel spa twice and have had two mobile masseuses come to me. My decision to go to Beach Total Massage was because I was visiting the plaza for lunch New Years Eve and noticed the parlor next door. I decided to drop in the morning after New Year's, Luckily, they had an opening. Lucy conducted herself with excellent professionalism and compassionate care listening to the details of my lower back pain and sciatic issues. We agreed that a 90-minute combination of deep tissue/sports type massage would be best, ending with a Swedish style for relaxation. Lucy is the first therapist to use the pressure necessary to give me a true therapeutic effect. I am a big guy, 6-4 250 lbs, and her use of hot towels to gain the grip to properly work my vertebrate and joints was excellent and classy. She thoroughly worked my IT bands and quads with the proper vertical pressure required to get results. She worked me close to tears for 60 Minutes, but I noticed the results immediately. Finally, someone who wasn't afraid to apply the pressure to get the job done. After that Lucy gently stretched my tissues with gentle long stokes to relax my entire body, it was as though I had two separate people work on me. Her technique is excellent, and for 90 minutes it was the best $110 I have ever spent. At no time was I pressured to purchase add-ons of Hot stones, special oils or any other treatment, (like others have done to me in the past). I work in the next office building over, and just walked in to check it out for the first time, and it was like they'd known me forever. Cynthia is so nice and caring, gentle and sincere. She offered me a free trial massage, and she walked on my back for about 10 minutes. I've never had that done, but remember my Dad asking us kids to do it for him, so this was sort of special in that way for me. I gave it one star but only because I have to, to make a submission. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had in any establishment. My boyfriend and I came in for a relaxing couples massage and what we got was farthest from just that. To start with, when calling to make an appointment, our names, price and the type of massage desired were never asked for. When we arrived, they were unprepared and only had one massage therapist waiting for the two of us. Getting dressed was difficult because we were constantly walked in on without a knock, which was uncomfortable. During the massage itself, we heard the sound of people using the restroom and were deafened by the sound of the toilet flushing. On top of that, our masseuse continued to leave the room to fight with an employee, numerous times. After my boyfriend was massaged for 20 minutes and I laid there waiting for the second masseuse, we got got fed up with it all, my boyfriend and I finally decided enough was enough & demanded for our money back. First time to Beach Total massage today, and had a great experience. True there was a bit of a language barrier, but they do their best to overcome it, and succeded. Went in with my wife on a whim for a couples massage and we were both pleased with their service. My wife has been to many massage shops around the beaches area and is a tough customer to please. She was satisfied with their techniques and said she was feeling better about trying them. She did say she wished they spent more time on her shoulders and neck rather than her lower back, but all in all did a good job. I have only been to a handful of massage shops and was pleasantly pleased to find the smallish woman giving me my massage was more than adequate to leave me feeling very relaxed and felling better. A good place to work out the kinks when on the road. I have been treated by 3 different masseuses here at various times. One was good and the other two were excellent. They helped me with sciatica, lower back issues and plantar faciitis. The Chinese staff were friendly, courteous and competent.
