I've had my nails done at other salons for multiple years and never had any issue like this. I asked them to remove the gel as my nails clearly need a break. They said that my nails did this because they "curved upwards", but I informed them that no... they do not and this happened because of filing the nails too thin. They then agreed and suggested trying other forms of color like powder gel, builder gel and other forms. At the end of the service I asked how much I owed. They did $6 for the removal and then added $25 for "spa manicure" which I was not advised of before hand. I paid the $31 and tipped, but was quite surprised. Overall, the people there are very nice and efficient. The environment is relaxing and clean. I'm believe this was a one off for them, but even in trying to fix the issue the gift certificate wouldn't cover 1/2 my next appointment if I returned.
