Wow, a real Veterinarian with knowledge & compassion. I brought in my Doberman Pincher for a second opinion on her incontinence. Dr Ena Valikov greeted us in the waiting area, even had a treat for my baby. She was both professional & friendly. She examained my dog with me in the room, so outstanding to be with your animal to ask questions and be informed of the proceedures. Dr Ena was very explanatory of what the possibilities could be. We went over them together & came up with a game plan. My dog was on high alert & very vocal during our visit. I contributed this to the presence of the resident cat. Although a very mellow kitty, my dog makes a deliberate dog & cat assumption. All went well, talking over the dog howls was easy for the Dr to do & we accomplished what we set out to do, & that was satisfying. I enjoyed having the time taken to address all my concerns. long story short, I hate yelp, I despise people making mountains out of molehills, but after this doctor sending me to a high dollar specialist out in Tustin, having them discredit BVH's ear medication as being too harsh for my dogs condition, I decided to come talk to the doctor. she asks if I got her letter, of which I did not, and takes me in an examination room, blocks the door, and starts talking down to me about her experience versus the specialist. when I asked why she sent me there in the first place, she continued to block me from the door and carried on. i asked if she was done, walked out, and wrote this "review." I came across Dr. Ena Valikov after reading some positive Yelp reviews and initially considered bringing my dog to her clinic. However, when I met her in person, I was completely taken aback by her rude and crass demeanor, it was not at all what I expected from someone in a caregiving profession and frankly I was shocked! A friend of mine had a similarly uncomfortable experience and later mentioned that she had come across Dr. Valikov's public social media accounts, which contained deeply disturbing, racist, and bigoted posts. Out of concern, I checked myself and I was horrified. Dr. Valikov has referred to LGBTQ+ individuals as "perverts" and has used her platform to aggressively attack anyone critical of the Israeli government's actions over the past two years. I believe that kindness, empathy, and professionalism are non-negotiable qualities in any medical provider, especially one entrusted with our beloved pets. Ena and her staff are amazing! We wouldn't take our pets anywhere else and we feel lucky she is in our neighborhood. Anytime we have an issue with our pups they are quick to make an appointment. When we come in, Ena always comes to the front and greats us and goes over our issue with us and asks follow up questions to make sure she knows all the details. She then takes the time to explain everything to us and really makes us feel like she cares, and not just like she is trying to see as many pets as possible and get them in and out. Dr Ena is wonderful! I have been trying to help my dog "Buddy" with his skin/allergies problems for the last 4 years and nothing was working. He was so miserable and looked so much older than he was he just slept all the time it was so sad to see him like that I would just sit and cry when I looked at him. My brothers girlfriend told me about Dr Ena. The 1st time I took Buddy to her she noticed he had something going on with his stomach that she said was more concerning to her so she took an x-ray and found out he had an enlarged liver and enlarged heart! She then took blood work to rule and some serious possible causes. Come to find out he had a thyroid problem all of this was within 2 weeks she had him on the much needed meds and now after only a month he's better!! He's better than than he's a whole new dog. He looked like he couldn't die any day before he now looks and acts like he's a puppy. My friends cant believe it they all say that's not the same dog and I say yes it is!! We have brought our pets to Beach Veterinary Hospital for a long time. It's is a small practice, but our pets have always received excellent care! I would also add that Dr. Ena is one of the most thorough vets we've worked with in 60 years of pet ownership. She puts in so much time researching issues, especially in unusual cases like our cat who did not respond to traditional treatment for a serious GI issue. I decided to try Beach vet because I'm only like half a block away, my chocolate lab Wilson had a Mass cell tumor on his lower left front leg, she told me if it was smaller than she could remove it but sent me to veterinarians cancer group it was in Torrance. A whole lot of money later they checked the spleen the liver the heart the lungs the stomach and they didn't see it had spread anywhere and they wanted 6 to 7,000 to remove it they gave me prednisone and Benadryl I gave it to Wilson for a couple of weeks the tumor got pretty small and and I went back to see Ena, she said she could remove it and the price was a whole lot and I mean a whole lot less than the cancer group wanted. Going to take a few weeks for it to heal up because it has to heal from the inside out but he's doing good running around like it never happened, she will sit right beside you and tell you everything need to do and what's going on and they love Wilson when he comes in there he doesn't even Flinch when they go to change the bandages she's number one in my book read more

I am forever grateful to Ena. She's not only an excellent vet, she is a kind and caring human being with a beautiful heart. She not only cares about your pets she cares about you! Her knowledge, skills, empathy and patience is first class. She will explain everything then always closes with "does that make sense" This is the kind of person she is...she diagnosed my little girl with diabetes. I was devastated and very nervous about giving the insulin injections but Ena was always there for me. We put a sensor on Cici so Ena could see her numbers. She stayed in touch with me and went above and beyond to help and advise. For a couple of days it looked like Cici wasn't getting her insulin injections so Ena became very worried that something might be terribly wrong. So..she called the police to go to my home for a Wellness Check and they did. About five minutes after they left Ena showed up at my door to make sure Cici and I were ok. THAT'S how much she cares. THAT'S her integrity and compassion. I was overwhelmed with gratitude. A month ago I knew nothing about canine diabetes. Ena has shared her extensive knowledge with me. She's coached me and is cheering me on. I couldn't have gotten thru this without her. Her techs Trinadee and David are the best. They are always there to greet you with a smile. This isn't just a job to them..it's their calling and they will do everything possible to help you. I would never bring my dog back here. Went when I first moved to the area because my dog was severely itchy. She barely glanced over my dog then made me get the ingredient list out for the food I fed my dog. Vet spent 20 minutes lecturing me on what GMOs were and how my dog must be allergic to the food. I had my dog on a special diet for weeks with no changes. Finally went to another vet for a second opinion and they were able to diagnose it as a flea allergy right away. She got meds and the itching went away right away. Side note, Dr. Ena Valikov is an infamous online troll who harasses people on twitter about GMOs (quick google search will confirm). Her views obviously get in the way of proper veterinary diagnoses. I was actually afraid to post this review for fear of retribution but I don't want other pets to suffer like mine did after visiting this office. read more

We were referred by a close friend to see Dr. Ena because our little Maltipoo (Mochi) was diagnosed with Cushing and high bp and I needed a doctor that would take their time to not only review my dog's case, but actually care for her (the previous vet did what they can but I felt like she was just another case in the books, they didn't even know her name every time we would go and for her conditions, regular visits were required (testings and so many meds), how could you not remember?) I'm so thankful to have connected with Dr. Ena since our initial visit I knew Mochi would be in good hands. With her elevated bp, it's important to get the most accurate reading and of course being at the vet will increase your blood pressure (like anyone else wouldn't you feel anxious), she wanted Mochi to feel at ease and after numerous high bp readings, at our first visit it was lower than usual!! (compared to where we were originally going we had some insane numbers!) From there I knew Mochi would be cared for! On top of it all unfortunately Mochi had already started several medications, and Dr. Ena is helping me find the most optimal solution to have her live a comfortable life with all her conditions. I brought my dog for a check and to get some prescription medicines. Dr Ena started the conversation saying that she had a bad experience with a big dog this weekend and she was a little afraid. The check consisted of walking in the parking lot and giving him treats. At this point we had being waiting for almost an hour and we were ready to get the medicines and leave. Our dog was also uncomfortable and antsy by this time When I saw the invoice $62 were for "Brief physical exam" (She didnt do any physical with him, only a couple of taps in his head) I asked why would I pay this amount if it was no physical exam (because she was not confortable with him) and the nurse very annoyed said: if I give you a refund you are not getting this medicine with us now or in a future either. The last 2 visits were also a joke, when my dog had to get 2 vaccines in the waiting room, surrounded by other patients with their animals there. ( We were not able to go inside a room because the need of 6ft apart) but we could stay in a waiting room packed of ppl. We thought with the Dr would be better. But same. Very frustrating. read more

I cannot in good conscience recommend this veterinary clinic. Being specific seems to be a good way to get in an argument with and doxxed by the owner, so I'll be general. I didn't enjoy the experience, and neither did my pet. The staff was inexperienced and lectured in front of me. The paperwork I filled out prior was obviously ignored and unread. I was repeatedly cut off and condescended to and it took my utmost patience to finally get my information across. In pursuit of a "clever" differential diagnosis, obvious information was discarded. My pet was handled brusquely and my advice on how my pet would react was ignored completely. At which point the vet was incredulous as though I hadn't warned her moments before. The procedure on my pet, which I had done myself previously and had done by three other handlers was so sloppily and violently done I sincerely worried real damage was being inflicted. Dr. Ena is the best veterinarian! She laterally saved my Italian Greyhound, Talia, when an emergency veterinarian thought is was best to put her down after she opened her up on the operating table and discovered she had become septic from a bowel obstruction the first veterinarian failed to completely remove. Dr. Ena was out of the office, so I had to take Talia elsewhere for the first the first surgery and boy, was that a mistake! Talia had to have 50 percent of her intestines removed due to the first veterinarian's botched surgery. I had to make a quick decision while Talia was opened up, and even though Dr. Ena was out of the office when this was happening, I left her a frantic message and she called me back right away and helped me make the right decision. Dr. Ena and I spoke over the phone and corresponded by email over 50 times throughout this ordeal. Not only did she provide me with the facts to make an informed decision, she talked me off an emotional ledge. I had seen Ena for a couple years for a multitude of animals, both my own and fosters, and is the best Vet I have had to date bar none. She takes her time with the animal, to better understand the animal, and keeps current with your animal and all of their medical history to help give the most accurate diagnosis. She also takes a more holistic approach to healing and pet medicine, which I very much appreciated. Had open appointments compared to our normal vet service that we take our dogs too. Were able to get my pup in very quickly. Doctor was great. Very patient and really made sure my dog was comfortable. Did not try and push too many services on to me. Just answered some questions and made sure my dog was taken care of. My only complaint is the cost of a visit is over $60.00. My normal vet is in the $30.00 dollar range. That is a big difference. read more

Dr. Ena, Jed, and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful. My 6 month old puppy, at some point during our walk, ingested some marijuana without my noticing. So, a few hours later, after the effects set in, my fiancé and I were horrified as our puppy couldn't hold her bladder, walk straight, or hold her self up. Within minutes of our arrival, Dr. Ena diagnosed the issue, but to be safe, also asked us to get blood work done, to ensure that the issue wasn't bigger. So, still very frightened for the puppy, she referred us to another vet, we went and got blood work (which came back negative for anything bad), and he reinforced her initial diagnoses. The whole staff was patient, comforting, and properly masked the entirety of the time we were there. As Veterinarians, they definitely understand biological science and did everything they could to protect our dog, and protect us. Highly recommend. read more
