I used to come to this office when it was run by Dr Gamble. She treated my (14 year old) senior cat with kindness and compassion above all else. He had localized cancer in one limb and we chose amputation and he lived happily for years with careful follow up within this clinic and was put down with compassion and love when his time came to cross the rainbow bridge. We were mailed a note from staff along with his cremation which we still have. I brought my now senior cat (17 years old) here and did not feel the same kindness and I'm very disappointed and miss the previous team. I was informed we're starting with blood work but his symptoms may indicate neurological up to and including a brain tumor. I do not disagree with this assessment or recommendations as I work in the medical field and brought him in for these concerns. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With that said, there is a way to deliver this information with kindness (as I previously received by Dr Gambles practice for my other cat) that was not delivered today.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I inquired prior to my appointment if it would have to be a drop off appointment and they said no, exams are with the pet parent present however my cat needed blood work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Feisty as he is, he would need sedation. This sedation I was told was only gas. I'm certainly aware this does not require hours of recovery but I understand the need for drop off. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, I was told they would call me when pickup is ready and I told the tech I need some time frame. I was informed it would be 6+ hours "because we have other clients".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I could understand if the rational was sedation for a period of time, but to keep my cat, in distress for being at the vet, for 6+ hours for blood work due to other clients when I made an appt discussing my concerns before coming seems excessive. Upon my question for this concern my cat was just brought out to me. I appreciate this as I do not want my cat in care where his time isn't considered as my main concern is his comfort especially in his age and condition. Overall, I won't be returning. I'm very disappointed in the care that has changed at this clinic. This is not the care that would have ever been delivered with Dr Gamble. **follow up, my cat had an appt with a different clinic and got blood work twice with me present in the room. He was treated with compassion which led to him being compliant without sedation. Additionally, the vet heard a heart murmur that was not discussed at the conclusion of this previous vet assessment. This makes me question the thoroughness of the assessment and the need for sedation as I was not present when they stated they attempted blood work. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I took my senior dog to get his teeth cleaned and when I picked him up, the person who explained the medication ended the conversation with how much he barked and took off a cone etc. I don't know why she would say that. He was obviously stressed out from the procedure and I told her that he really doesn't bark at home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really don't know what the point of that was besides to make me feel bad and not likely, but what if they were peeved at my dog and didn't treat him nicely. So I'm not grading on that but the fact that they made me feel bad and even think that made me feel uneasy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, before I dropped him off I asked to get his anal glands expressed and when I asked when I picked him up if that was done and they said "oh they were empty" (he's usually not empty). It made me feel like they forgot to do it and they just said it was empty. Overall, I'm just disappointed by how badly I felt after picking him up and not feeling certain of the care my dog received. We brought in our kitten and our older cat who had been here before. Our kitten was getting her shots and our older cat came in for his yearly checkup and to check some bumps on his chin. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The receptionist was wonderful, quick, and very helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The rest of the staff we dealt with was quite the opposite. The nurse? Vet assistant? Whatever she was, was incredibly unprofessional. She didn't seem to know what we were there for even though it should have been noted on their records. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then she very weirdly began talking to our cats in a baby voice for several minutes... it made us very uncomfortable. Especially when she proceeded to say backhanded comments meant for us to our cats in the voice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]... Our kitten hissed at her briefly, I'm sure because of the way she was holding her... and she told our kitten "you keep hissing at me and your parents are going to have to pay for sedation every single time." Our kitten did not bite or scratch her, this seemed very inappropriate and again made us VERY uncomfortable. After that Dr. Bahram Bozorgchami came in to check out our older cat and while he did diagnose the bumps on his chin... that was all he did! He listened to his heart for maybe 2 seconds and thats all... didn't check his ears, didn't check his teeth, just asked if there was anything else wrong with him??? I expected a more comprehensive checkup for $55 a visit. And this isn't the first time I take our older cat in for a yearly check up. The previous times this doctor also did not check his ears or teeth or anything really. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After the doctor was done, the assistant came in to give us a run down of the shots our cat was going to receive. My wife and I understood that having our dog spayed would involve a healing process, and we were prepared for that. Unfortunately, our experience was more extensive and difficult than anticipated. While we recognized that the rate at this clinic was more expensive than at some other clinics, we accepted that because we always took her here. However, factors outside of anyone's control led to complications--specifically, her initial sutures did not heal properly. We were told this outcome occurs in about 1 in 200 cases. After several follow-up visits about her recovery we were told she needed more time to heal but it wasn't getting better, the clinic re-stitched her incision with physical sutures and took out the previous dissolvable one (didn't dissolve), and we followed the guidance provided, including administering her medication prior to next appointment in two weeks for removal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Two weeks later at the visit, we were told she had not cooperated during the removal attempt and that we should return the following week. They were ready to come out but unfortunately, no alternative options were discussed with us at that time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My wife and I were sad and concerned because the physical sutures appeared to be causing her discomfort, so a few days later we sought a second opinion. That clinic presented us with several options to remove the sutures immediately, and we proceeded with one of them. Total duration of the experience was May 30 - August 11 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ultimately, we decided to transfer her care to a new clinic. This particular situation highlighted a gap in communication for solutions to remove her suture and left us feeling that our concerns were not fully addressed after turning her away without an alternative option made us very disheartened.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Side Note: I know dogs may have bad experiences at the vet but my pet was fearful as well as reluctant to wanting to go to this vet during her visits, and not at the new one.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I should have took that as a sign earlier but didn't. They take them to the back so I am unable to see what is going on but when I picked her up from her spayed procedure, she had feces in multiple places on her cone and they did not clean it off until i requested it and after a routine visit for her shots I noticed she was bleeding in the car at the incision site, I've never seen that from any of the dogs I've cared for in the past during these check ups, after noticing it in the car I took her back and asked what happened and they said sorry and cleaned it up. In December, we brought our newly adopted Miniature Pinscher, Bruce, to this vet to address issues with unusual droppings. After an exam, they informed us he would need a shot. We were seeing the newer vet this day. While the new doctor inspected him, Bruce became visibly scared. The vet told us that next time, he would need to be given gabapentin to calm down. I didn't think much of it. They gave me a tiny muzzle to put on him. When they took Bruce back to administer the shot, I have no idea what happened, but he became so terrified that he urinated, defecated, and even ripped off one of his toenails. When they came out to tell me this I was horrified. They also acted like there was something wrong with our dog because he pooped and peed out of fear... If you have ever had dogs, you know, this is not necessarily an uncommon experience at a vet. I was then told that to give him the deworming shot that day, he would now need to be fully sedated. On top of that, they wanted to charge us over $200 to address the now-bleeding toenail. This would sky rocket the bill. I declined. When I took Bruce home, his toenail--while gone--stopped bleeding. I spent $35 to purchase deworming medication over the counter - which was what should have been suggested. I later spoke with the foster mom of our other dog Barrett, who is well-connected to local vets, and Lois shared that she also had a poor experience at this clinic. She even questioned whether they genuinely like dogs. Looking back, I now regret bringing my previous dog Iggy to this clinic. He died of mast cell cancer in June of 2024, and I suspect part of the reason was their failure to get clean margins during surgery. I won't be returning to this vet and cannot, in good faith, recommend them. read more

This is a really great place! Reviewing again. My dog was on antibiotics for a separate infection for months so she developed an ear infection secondary to that. She also gets monthly dermatological injections here for her itchy skin- they have reaaaally helped. Vet prices are always steep, but honestly here they are lower than I would expect. & the service is amazing. We can make appointments just within a few days at most, and we're seen almost immediately. There are 2-3 parking spots in front of the place (it's technically around the back of the building) but there's extra back parking for the entire Parkview Plaza. Today I just walked my dog out towards the back entrance & waited on the bench by the back door for her. The technicians are very friendly & informative. They found cocci x2 in her ears AND yeast so she was put on ear drops & oral antibiotics. I've always had a really good experience here, and they're able to give you approximate price estimates before any work is done, so you won't be surprised with expenses. I really appreciate having this hospital so close to me & I trust them with my beloved Belle. Highly recommend! read more

Everyday meeting me at the office.. stealing lunches from trucks and table tops... She was like your personal security walking with you everywhere.. so when it became clear that her quality of life was not what it use to be ... Parkview staff was very emphatic... Took my kitty for a check up and exam for the first time and they were patient, informative and very helpful. My cat threw up three times on a Saturday and once on Sunday, when I called they immediately booked me that same day to see her and were very helpful. They also were willing to book my other kitty for an exam and fecal test. The price was fair and honestly it was pretty good, too compared to other places I've been to. I took my cat to Parkview Pet Hospital on Saturday morning (4/27). After I called Friday afternoon explaining that my cat had a wound that I wanted to get looked at. I showed up 10-15 minute prior to my 11AM scheduled appt and was pleasantly greeted by the front staff. I filled out the 1 sheet of information on my cat and waited my turn about 5-7 minutes to be take back. September the (vet tech) took diligent notes and was compassionate to the situation that had unfolded in front of her. A little backstory... My cat lives with my father at his home in the mountains due to a large backyard space to be able to roam. My father was out of town this particular week and the babysitter that visits daily informed us that he had a gash on his cheek on Friday (4/19). I was able to go see him that weekend and being a Sunday (4/21) (Picture #1). limited to the vets who were able to see him. His usually vet doesn't have hours on Sunday. So, I browsed Yelp for vets that were open. Unhappy with the reviews on Yelp and worried about further infection I desperately picked one close to my fathers home. This vet that we saw, briefly looked him over with the tech and advised surgery to place stitches. I expressed my concern as my cat is 11 years old (a senior cat) and clearly has an active infection with puss and swollen face. I pushed conservation treatment. The vet offered an injectable antibiotics and pain medication which my cat subsequently received. The vet informed me it would never heal and he would need stitches later on down the line. I told them I would be back, fully lying between my teeth as I would never return to this clinic. I proceed to take my cat home with me, keeping him indoor and in the e-collar. The swelling and infection was healing but now my subconscious was worried if maybe the gash was deeper than perceived and maybe he did need stitches. So now I needed another vet to take him too, so I started browsing local vets to me in Cerritos. I spent hours looking at reviews different business, veterinarians, staff encounters and outcome with cost. The closes vet was VCA Cerritos which had horrible reviews. I knew I would need to seek further from my home for a quality vet. I then came across Parkview Pet Hospital and settled on the decision to take him there seeing they had 4.5 starts with 188 reviews. So off to Parkview Pet Hospital I went.... Back at the office... The vet, Dr. Chami came in reviewed the note taken by September (tech) and review the medication given from the last vet. Dr. Chami was surprised my cat given was given a pain medication that usually reserved for animals of higher weight and younger as it can cause kidney problem and vomiting. Information not disclosed to me by the previous vet. Dr. Chami visually viewed the wound then put gloves on and touched around the wound and open his mouth looking to see if there was damage was done inside. He then took a q-tip and tried to insert it around the wound ensuring no further damage. I expressed my wishes to do conservative treatment. Dr. Chami validated that my cat did not need stitches and the wound would heal with time about 2 week in the E-collar. He recommended a medical cleaner and strong topical antibiotics to keep the wound clean, both obtained in his clinic. The office visit cost is very reasonable and price for medication was feasible. Much much cheaper than stitches recommended by the first vet. What surprised me was the vet said I could send a picture of my cats wound to view to verify that the wound is healing well or whether he would need to come back for more treatment. Most vets would want you to come back to get an extra office visit from you, it was heartfelt that he was more concerned about seeing that my cat was getting better vs making another dollar or wasting my time. If looking for a new vet or need a vet for an injury, don't resistance where to bring your furry family. Bring them to Dr. Chami and his staff at Parkview Pet Hospital. Sorry for this late review. We brought our dog here 07/20/24. I found this vet out of desperation. Our 17 year old dog had a seizure and was paralyzed and had stopped eating. We can no longer watch her suffer. It was a hard decision but it was best to have her euthanized/cremated. Our vet was going to charge us $750 if we want her ashes back. I called several vets and Parkview quoted us the lowest. For the price that they gave me, I wasn't expecting an outstanding service. They were friendly, professional and empathetic. The facility was nice and clean. They let us in the room during the process. It was so hard to watch her die in my arms. They gave us a moment with her. When I picked up her urn after 2 weeks, they threw in a ceramic plate with her paw print. What a surprise! Got all teary when I saw it. This would have been an additional $50 but they didn't charge me for it. We don't plan on having another dog in the near future but if we do, we'll definitely use this vet.
