    If there is one word that sums this property rental company up, it is unprofessional. I have had…read moretwo experiences with it. Both were fraught with inconvenience, unprofessional attitudes, rude phone calls, and headaches. The first time I dealt with this company, they had acquired a listing from another property management company. I had a reservation on the acquired property and had previously paid a deposit on the rental. I also had a valid lease agreement on the property. I was informed by one of the agents of D-D of their newly acquired management of the property I had rented. Along with this notification came a demand for payment of ANOTHER $300.00 deposit. When I asked why they did not simply get the deposit from the other company, I was informed that if I did not pay as they were demanding that they would cancel my reservation. After much back and forth with these unpleasant folks, it took a call to the actual owner of the property to get D-D to back down from their ridiculous demand. Fast forward a few years. I reserve yet another property and pay yet another deposit four months in advance of my vacation. This vacation had been in the works for much longer than 4 months and involved coordination with a number of parties. Two months after I reserved my property and paid my deposit, I was met with yet another unexpected and unpleasant phone call. This time, I was informed that I would not be able to lease the property that I held under contract and that I was being moved to a different property. I could either accept the move or have my reservation canceled. I elected the latter in the hopes of never having to deal with these jokers again. I spent the next two weeks trying to locate another suitable property. My experience with this management company was, bar none, the worst I have ever had in Port A. I have been going to the coast for years and have never had a problem with any other company. Frankly, I am surprised they have managed to stay in business with practices like this in place. To wrap the story - Thankfully, I was able to find another unit and salvage the trip, but with no small amount of added headache thanks to D-D. I find great comfort in the fact that I will never have to deal with them again. I provide this review in the hopes that those who happen to try to book a property in Port A will not fall victim to the antics of the circus that is D & D Property Management.

    We have been staying in PA for over 20 years. In Oct. we rent for one month. This home by far was…read morethe very worst. It was Loaded with little black beetle bugs, they got in our clothes.The home was filthy we spent our first week just cleaning and that was after we had to beg for cleaning products of any kind from the property management . When it rained the upstairs bedroom flooding thru the glass doors terrible. Everything got wet that was on the floor throughout the room. The home had no landscaping at all with tons of stickers. There is more but the fact is its a bad place and I do not recommend staying there. They manager actually would call me on the phone and yell at me for trying to get what we paid for, very very unprofessional company. D&D Management has no clue on how to run there business I suggest using another property management company for your stay in Port Aransas

    We talked to Erica about a property on the island everyday for a week…read more You keep coming up with different excuses and having to reschedule showing us the property. When we asked about putting in the application she told us we were not allowed until we view the property we even asked about putting down the deposit to secure the house before seeing it along with the applications and said we cannot do that either until we see the house. Friday she told us that we can see the house 10:00 a.m. on June 30th. This morning she now informs us that she has three other applications and is not going to show us the house. Then this Erica chick whoever is representing y'all decided to get Mouthy with my wife on the phone. I'll be sure to relay the kind of business practices that are going on at kesling to the rest of the people I know here on the island. Y'all have a good day and we're going to use Caldwell banker or The rental Management company on the island might have to pay a little more but at least we won't get shitty service

However, after only a short time, I discovered Kessling was even worse. I had simply asked to have a quick property inspection to assess the condition of the house specifically the fence my renters were asking to have replaced. It took them months to complete this and then he didn't inspect the condition of the air filter, which is something I specifically asked him to do. On top of that, he "referred" me to a contractor do repairs but refused to follow up with the guy when my renters complained and sent pictures of the job not being completed. That was apparently "my problem". And, if that's the case, why even have a property manager if they do nothing more than collect rent? I can do that myself without being there in person. On top of that, they refuse to embrace technology which alone isn't a dealbreaker but makes them very hard to work with. My renters were not happy to be having to drop off a physical check at their office all the time nor was I satisfied with handwritten (barely legible) statements with next to no details on them.

Longing for surf and sand, we scheduled a long weekend in Port Aransas and found a fantastic house within 5 minutes of the beach. "Villa 4 Rita" is dog friendly and can sleep a total of eight. The setup includes two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. An open loft sleeps 4 but it has a low ceiling and the stairs are treacherous. Melissa made our trip fantastic. We got her take on restaurants and took her up on a few of her suggestions. Check in and check out were as easy as the beach breeze.

Not only is there website the most friendly, so are their prices. They never charge hidden fees and they carry mostly mid-range properties. They provide two tabs for dishwasher, a small dish soap, at least two toilet paper rolls, a trash bag, and all of the linens (towels, too). You bring additional of the other if needed - but this is a small price to pay for NO FEES. Getting your key is as easy as stopping by their office (located near the ferry landing). If you arrive after 4pm, there's a drop box and you can pay on your way out. You must put down 1 night deposit (you can use credit card online) and pay full amount when you arrive, but they only accept checks, money orders and cashiers checks up to 2 weeks prior to your stay. Upon arrival you can pay with credit card (although it's very courteous to pay with debit) or cashier's check. We once had several houses booked for a large party so I made sure to bring a cashier's check to avoid the fees. There are very few properties I've not completely loved in the last 5 years of booking with them. If you want an honest opinion about a property - hit me up and I will let you know. TIP: Hang on to your keys - only fees are for lost keys!
