Got a Groupon for this place for a week pass to get a light tan before my trip. Both girls working the counter were very rude to put it lightly. No where did it say I could only use the Groupon once for a lifetime. I hadn't been here in over two years. I will never be going back after the customer service I received. Luckily when I got home I could cancel my Groupon still. I'd recommend going to any other tanning place before this one. read more

The girls are all sweet and friendly, and inviting. The prices charged are too expensive though. I down graded my membership to help it be more cost effective for me but now there's only a few beds I can use. The place in West Jordan has a good vibe. read more

Beaches is the absolute best tanning spot. The whole place is immaculate. 2 lovely ladies greeted me with a smile. Natalie was so helpful and knowledgeable about all of the beds and perks. She really sold me on the membership. It's definitely worth it and ended up saving me a lot of $$ in the long run. Plus freezing the membership option is pretty streamlined and easy. I've really enjoyed having my Beaches membership for a couple years now. It's nice to have a little spa like retreat to get away and pamper yourself for a quick 45 minutes if needed! I'm a fan of the spray tans and there are a variety of undertones and scents they can add to make your experience more pleasant and help you not look so oompa lumpa! They do offer membership packages for the tanning beds if you do prefer that. I also love using their cocoon bed for muscle relaxation and it has stones inside to help detoxify you and a hyperthermic option to help you with weight loss. Just be sure to be hydrated if you decide to try it out. Cause your body is going to sweat! Also the red light therapy machine is great for your skin as well as cellulite. Many options to choose from! My only suggestion would be for them to have more Beaches North of Salt Lake. That's been my only issue is finding one close enough to me to make my membership feel worthwhile! Oh, and there is no cancellation fee and you have the option of freezing your account. I came in here and spent 80$ to get tan and the lady started my bed 5 minutes before I was ready to get in, so when I got in and out I asked for more time and she told me no so I basically wasted 80$ would not recommend this place at all they do not care about their customers. read more

I was staying in salt lake and needed a spray tan because we were leaving on vacation the next morning. My sister has always loved beaches so I thought it would be a good idea to get a spray tan here. When I walked in the girl at the front was rude and acted like I was dumb. There was 1 person getting out of the spray tan when I came in so all she had to do was go clean the booth. Instead, she helped TWO guys that came in AFTER me before she cleaned my booth. She gave both of them a tour of the whole facility and got them both set up in their beds before she cleaned the spray tan booth. It could've been a 10 minute in and out experience, but i ended up waiting 30 minutes to even get in the spray tan booth. It was ridiculous and the girl was a brat. Awful customer service, but a great place to tan. read more

In an industry like this, I would suggest training your staff on customer service, questions to ask to better understand your clients needs and most importantly, how to resolve issues; before placing them in a position that is THE face of your business. read more

Even if you have lotion or have a membership already. When you say no to whomever they will have a attitude or they will keep trying to sell you something else. Even after I say no. I want to be respected as a customer when I say no. They need a new manager and new emoplyees at this location ASAP. I love Beaches Tanning . Their centers are clean and have great equipment. The staff is super friendly and they always have great deals. They think of the little things like wipes and goggles in every room and they even leave you a little treat on your bed. I've gone to lots of tanning places and none compare to Beaches. I would NOT recommend Beaches Tanning to anyone. Although their staff is friendly, they are not educated very well. I went in on 04/16/15 to sign up and received an AMAZING deal. When signing up the employee went over the contract with me, and the dates. Letting me know I have until the 15th to cancel, otherwise the payments will come out the 1st of every month. With this I asked her specifically.... "Will the first payment come out May 1st? Or June 1st?" She replied "June 1st, you have until May 15th to cancel if you want, at which you have to come in". With the understanding the first payment wouldn't come out till June 1st I thought I was getting away with a steal! Like how awesome is that?!? Well...as May 4th rolled around I found that I was charged the $79.00 fee for May 1st, which was NOT what we had discussed. After I contacted one of the stores (because it seems like the West Jordan stores phones are ALWAYS having issues) they were unable to do anything and advised me to contact the corporate office. When contacting into the corporate office and told the woman of my issue, she basically told me it was my fault. I signed the contract and was aware of the dates, and she could not verify as to what the girl and I may have discussed, or if there was a confusion. Have it be if there was confusion it was on THEIR end, not mine. I explained as a corporate office and dealing with customer service they should never tell a paying customer they are wrong. All she could do was keep repeating herself that I signed the contract, and that it was my issue for not reading it. When I told the representative I would be disputing the charge she told me to go ahead and try, but they have my signed contract which they would send to the bank letting them know I was aware of the dates. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING! She was willing to do NOTHING for a paying customer. I know how contracts work, and when an employee is standing in front of you going over the contract, I am not going to read through it as I am putting my trust into that employee to give me all the information. So basically with this, and if I was to cancel on May 15th they are expecting me to pay $144 for 4 weeks... however it is only suppose to be $79 for a month for the membership I opted for. I also had a few other friends who went in a week after me (because I told them what an amazing place it was) which was still in April and was told the SAME EXACT THING. Their next payment would not be due till June 1st. I guess they should have read over their contracts too...and ignored what the employee was saying. Because of this we will all be cancelling our memberships as we do not want to do ANY business with a shady company who wont back up their own employees for THEIR mistakes. I was planning on keeping my membership activated and tanning at least until September, for my wedding. Your company could have made a lot more money off of me, but after this will not see a dime more. I understand accidents and mistakes happen, but you NEVER call a customer wrong, or a liar. I would highly recommend putting some more time and money into educating/training your employees on how NOT to give PAYING customers incorrect information. Contract or no contract, there is no excuse for the way I was treated after Beaches Tanning gave me the incorrect information. I also see some other people having the SAME EXACT ISSUE. So if you do plan to go here, READ YOUR CONTRACT AND DO NOT LISTEN TO THE EMPLOYEES AS THEY CLEARLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THEIR OWN CONTRACTS AND THE WAY THEY WORK. read more

Beaches has the most horrible customer service! Let me start by saying one of the girls there had me sign up for a membership & LIED to me that it would only be around 20$ a month. When my monthly bill came, it was over 70$. I couldn't believe my eyes. She literally sat there & lied to me 3 times just so I can sign up for a membership. I called their corporate office & of course they couldn't/wouldn't refund me my money. They gave me in store credit that I HAD to use by end of the year. They still tried to get me to sign up for a membership after that.. Unbelievable. The girls are always trying to sell stuff... If you tell them you already have lotion that you bought from THEM, they still try to push you to buy another product. & if you tell them no, they have attitude bc you're not making them money. It makes you not ever wanna go there again. Customer service is everything!!! Great beds, horrible customer service!!! Whoever is training these girls needs to be trained themselves. they always say they have great membership deals, DONT FALL FOR IT. They will steal your money! 70$ a month is not worth a tanning membership..... unless you tan every single day. I'd like to give them ZERO stars. They outright lied to me in order to get me to pay five dollars a month after freezing my account. They sold me on "freezing" my account and GUARANTEED that I would be able to come back and get a free month or two membership depending on how many months my account was frozen - I had to pay five bucks a month toward this and I would receive seven dollars toward my account, which they promised could be allocated toward a monthly membership. When I tried to come back after a little more than a few months, they informed me that the money I paid could only be used for upgrades and lotions. They were completely dishonest in trying to get me to "freeze" the account, and then they were unwilling to compromise after I had been faithfully allowing them to take money from my account based on false information from an employee - I've been a good customer and the dishonesty I've experienced from them is really irritating. I probably reemphasized three times to the employee that I would be using this money for a monthly membership and she repeatedly assured me that I could do this. I feel like they needed to cheat me out of my money to keep me as a customer. Seriously - that's not right. read more
