On the day of the event she showed up on time with a smile on her face and her co-worker was also friendly! I checked out the inside of the truck which was clean and well-maintained. They served for about 3 hours and the line was by far the longest of all the trucks we had. I saw amazing-looking slushes, ice cream and boba drinks pour out of their truck. Beachin Boba catered for my teen's birthday party. They responded right away and were very responsive and professional whenever I had questions. They arrived on time and were very friendly. The sundaes with churros and the boba teas were a hit for 70 guests especially the teens after splashing in the pool on a summer day. There was enough variety for 50 guests (6 flavors of tea and 6 flavors of ice cream). Ice cream and teas were the perfect treat for a summer party. Most had seconds. Not sure how the boba is here, and I'll explain why in a moment. This review is solely for service. My husband and I were recently spending a Friday evening in Balboa Park waiting to see Mesmerica (very fun!) and we saw the boba truck. Went to go get some and stood in line for almost 10 minutes because it was busy. Not a problem. The woman in front of us ordered her tea and we went up to the window. Asked was flavor of jellies they have, and the women there just says "We don't have any, we're closing." My husband and I were a bit taken aback, but he goes, "Oh, so we can't order at all?" Very rudely, she says, "No, we're closing." And starts to close the window in our faces. We were super surprised at her rudeness and abruptness. The woman in front of us sort of joked about being sorry for taking the last tea, and we wandered off. Thing is, we ended up running into the woman again, and she let us know that they ended up taking the order of the people behind us. So not sure why we were so rudely ignored. I was interested in trying the food truck scene in Southern California and out of all the vendors, I was the most impressed with Beachin' Boba. They were set up at Balboa Park near the live jazz music. The service was much faster than normal food truck queues. I got the mango flavoured green tea. All I have to say is that the presentation of the drink was adorable, it was very refreshing, and most of all, the boba had the perfect chewy consistency. I came back later that night since I was really pleased with the friendly customer service and drinks. Tried the churro and it was delicious. Beachin' Boba was at Food Truck Fridays in Balboa Park on July 14. We ordered a mango tea boba for $6. First of all, $6 for boba?! Are you kidding me???? If it was high quality tea and amazing boba, it MIGHT be worth it. But what we got was far from that. It was extremely watered down.. practically tasteless. The boba tasted hard, pretty much inedible. Lastly, they only gave us one layer of boba (as in just enough boba to cover the bottom of my cup in one layer). It's actually quite embarrassing that they would even sell something like that. Wouldn't it be better if they just said they were out of boba/tea instead of charging $6 for practically a cup of water? We also ordered a churro that was almost rock hard. Wow, so disappointing on all fronts. I definitely do not recommend this. I don't even think Balboa Park should have even allowed them to be in their Food Truck Friday lineup. read more

This is the second time I've used them for our party and I have no regrets! Communications was a breeze with Lauren and she answered all my questions from the get go. Glen and Johnny are so professional and thoughtful. They always show up early and set up to be ready to serve our guests when the party starts. The product is just not good. Maybe people are just excited that there is a boba truck in Balboa Park. But the tea is really bland, some watered down tea bag version with as little flavoring as possible. And the boba itself was under cooked, so it's chewy with uncooked part in the middle that just sticks to your teeth. Probably the worst boba tea I've had anywhere. No good.
