I booked a weekend on Feb. 22. I received an email stating my reservation was pending because I needed to add a third night (which was not mentioned on the site). I emailed back and said I was unable to book a third night for that weekend. I requested the reservation be canceled. I am reluctant to write this review for a couple of reasons. The first is because I don't want to give away the best kept secret in vacation rentals. The second I will keep to myself. I love the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I always have. People can complain about the beaches and the water, but they're missing several key things. First of all, this is one of the closest real beaches to New Orleans. Second, I spent a large portion of my youth out here with my family and for that reason alone, it will always be special to me. Those memories are what drives me to this beach several times during the summer. You see, those memories are so incredible for me that I want my own children to have similar experiences. So now that the sentimental stuff is out of the way, I'll explain more about the rental. I found these rentals while searching vrbo.com. I had stayed in a beachfront hotel a few weeks before and was massively disappointed. These rentals looked great and were half of what the hotel cost. Booking was incredibly easy, and the owner was very friendly. What is billed as a cabin is actually a trailer. They have been fancied up a hit, but they are still a trailer. Ours had a single bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/dining area and a living area with sleeper sofa. The bedroom was small, but manageable. The bed was a full so my legs hung far off of the end. If you're tall, that's something to consider. Having a full kitchen was a nice addition and saved on food cost since we were able to cook a few meals instead of dining out. The kids loved the sleeper sofa especially since they could watch the tv while lounging in their bed. There wasn't much of a view from the cabin I rented, but it was only one block from the beach. For the price, you really can't get a better place. read more

It is with a heavy heart that I must give this review. We have been customers of Beachview for several years now, going at least once a year. Up until today, we have had good experiences. The cottages were nice, clean and affordable. Recently we booked a stay for mid-March. Then my wife became ill and we had to cancel. The management has a 5 day cancellation policy with no penalty, and we cancelled 7 days out. I have been waiting for a refund of our payment ever since. There has been no communication from the management regarding this despite several attempts. This is over $400. It is very disappointing that they have chosen not to respond. I must warn any future customers that if they cancel, they stand to lose any money they deposit. read more

Don't Believe The Part About a View or Internet! Based on the other review here on Yelp and our discussions with the Property Manager we rented a "Beachview" cottage for one month. Unfortunately, we arrived in Gulfport and realized that there really wasn't a Beach view but a direct view of a house surrounded by garbage. We had been told we had a partial view but still did not expect a direct view of a house that was not at all cared for! I had stated when renting that with our work internet was a make or break. When we arrived there was no internet! The cottage had a Glade Deodorizer inside and had a very strong deodorizer smell. That made me wonder what odor was being covered up. Overall, the cottage did not even look close to the pictures on the website it was shabby and depressing. it's my belief that the cottages were significantly misrepresented! My husband booked this cottage for a week long get a way. The cottages themselves are cute, stocked with everything you need to cook although I do recommend bringing extra towels. There is vacant house on Paradise St. directly across from cabins 1,2,3 and 4 that is definitely an eyesore and the garbage and cans left out can produce an odor in the heat. Aside from that there are a few bars within walking distance and the cute stray grey cat that comes and meets all his new visitors was a plus. Neighbors were respectful and quiet and beach was fairly close across a busy road but still walkable. I do recommend doing your research before visiting if your planning on swimming, the gulf itself is full of dead and alive moon jellies. The booking process was easy and we didn't have any issues. read more

We stayed here for my birthday and we were a little unimpressed. When we drove up the smell of rotten trash hit us. The inside wasn't bad except the bed was so hard and felt like we were sleeping on springs. Cute cottages with mildew and roaches. The worst roach is the manager who needs lessons on treatment of clientele. He is barely visible or available until he gets full payment. Then, he alerts police friends who pass through during the night blinking their lights at teens who are gathered on porch. That's harassment! Do not go there!!! read more

I was somewhat disappointed upon arrival, the grass was not cut and we had a cabin with small children who had to endure mosquitoes while playing in the grass! There also was a serious roach problem the owner or manager did not spray for. We had a front cottage so there was a somewhat obstructed view of the beach. The nice thing is it was a very short walk to the beach. My major problem with management is on the last evening when we about to have family game night we were told it was to many of us..wth (we are AA which was offensive)! We had rented most of the cottages that can sleep up to 8-10 people! read more
