Brakes-N-Axles was a God send and I could tell the reviews were right about this business upon pulling into the lot because they were jam packed! I was surprised when they didn't send me away because they were so over-booked. They quoted me a decent price (lower than any of the other places I contacted) and the service was fast! They test drove my vehicle to make sure it was safe for me to drive and that was that. I will say this, they don't talk much, but I imagine that I don't talk much when there is work to be done. I left there happy and satisfied.

To make matters worse, the second mechanic also found defective work from Brakes n Axels that is now causing additional issues. Paying repeatedly for unsuccessful repairs is frustrating enough, but finding out that previous work was poorly done makes it even worse. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. I also found out that they charged me for a job that they never did and when I confronted them, they got very rude and told me see you in court crazy how they went there, but I guess that's what we will do then do not trust these people.They will charge you for things that they do not do. They are not good people. Do your research. They also have a F with a Better Business Bureau.

The owner Jovan has no clue what is going on so he lies everytime we call for an update. I was told to drop it off because the transmission was in, I was told they finally started working on it last Thursday, now he says that they are having to wait for the transmission and there is logistics involved. He has no clue what lie to give us next. Why they don't just fix my vehicle and give it back is beyond me. Why keep dragging us through the mud for no reason. I paid the high down, I have made every payment on time even though my vehicle is not fixed still at almost 3 months into this. How can this even be real. The worst part is they do this to people knowing they can't do a thing about it. They don't lose anything and could care less because they will just keep getting away with scamming people. It's been over a week and all I want is an accurate update or my vehicle back. Is that too much to ask?!?! Even better when you get a call from the owner that last 2 mins and he answers nothing then hangs up on you because scamming customers is more important. Jovan is even more rude than his staff. The absolute worst dealership and shop! STAY AWAY!!! Update #2: They finally tell me to drop my vehicle off and have now had it for 2 days and have not touched it at all! Their awful excuse is it was too long to get in their shop so they had to clean the other side out. Are you serious?!?! Don't bother trying to talk to anyone because you can't ever talk to anyone just the worthless guy who answers the phone and is rude and can't do anything at all. This company just gets worse and worse. They don't care that your making payments on time while they run you around, or that they are leaving you without a vehicle for over a week when it was supposed to be 3-4 days which is still longer than most shops. Update: It has now been over 2 months since I started the fight with this company. I still do not have my 50k vehicle fixed. Still more excuses, we have to repeatedly call for updates and get nowhere. Don't ask to speak to the owner because it won't ever happen. The warranty they offer is just a cash cow for them they don't actually honor it or do anything with it. I called the warranty company myself and they have no record of my vehicle.....at this point I'm convinced they never planned to fix my vehicle. Transmission was supposed to be in today, here it is end of day no word from anyone and conveniently no one is available to speak to either. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM HERE AS YOU CAN!!! At first thought we found a diamond in the rough here. Had nice vehicles and even offer a warranty.....the catch is you will get a vehicle with a big mechanical issue then you will spend the next 30 plus days fighting to get it fixed. Fighting just to get communication. You will get the run around. Call the warranty company and after almost a month since I bought the vehicle they say they don't even show an active account for me. Yet I'm told by Vicki that I have an approved repair. Wait 2 weeks for a tacking number that I have to keep calling for updates on just to be told conveniently it was lost in shipping....how do you lose a whole transmission??? That's not counting the radio screen that doesn't work still. So here we are over a month later, a 50k vehicle with nothing but problems and no answers.

Not only could they never figure out the problem, they charged us again for more work AND for the tow! Two years later, my hubby's other car began running rough. He dropped it off at Earnie's again. For the third time in two years, they changed the spark plugs and the initial coil. Before he could get off Owen Drive, the check engine light came on and it began running rough. Being non confrontational and a loyal customer, hubby wouldn't call to let them know they did unnecessary work, charged him, and didn't solve the problem. Instead, he is now taking it to the dealer. I couldn't stand the thought of them taking advantage of him (again) so I called and spoke to Sandy who relayed the information to Warren. When she returned to the phone she said, "If he wants to take it to the dealer, he can. We can go our separate ways.". I can't recall how much it was, but I remember thinking "that's not horrible." Much to my surprise, tow truck arrived about 15 minutes later! Guy was cordial, and almost apologetic for how much he charged (which was the price quoted on the phone). This was about 3-4 weeks ago. Looking back, I realize the service was great, and the price was very fair compared to what I've experienced in the past. Around 35 miles and an hour round trip.

My experience with Harrell's Tire & Automotive has been an absolute nightmare. What followed was a series of miscommunications, incomplete work, and questionable billing practices. From the start, I was told by Kaleb that a full diagnostic and fuel pump replacement had been completed. I approved the fuel pump replacement based on this information. However, after multiple follow-ups and showing up to pick up my vehicle, I learned the fuel pump was never replaced. Despite being told the vehicle was running smoothly, I paid nearly $900 and received my car back in worse condition--it no longer even turns over. I also provided the necessary parts for the EGR valve replacement, which they ignored. Instead, they charged me $248.32 for their own part, despite clear instructions to use the one I provided. Their response afterward? "Oh, you wanted us to use your part?"--which had already been discussed. I was billed for multiple levels of diagnostics and essentially nickel-and-dimed, yet I never received a single clear diagnostic report. When I requested documentation to justify the work and charges, I received vague responses with no real findings. I followed up repeatedly by email, and no one responded--even now, I still haven't received the information I asked for. Every time I asked for clarification, I was ignored and when finally receiving a response, i was told the issue was now "out of their scope"--but only after hours and only after repeated follow-ups. This is especially misleading since they are listed as a Jasper-certified transmission repair shop, and that's exactly why I brought my vehicle to them. Despite this, they referred me to another shop that isn't even Jasper-approved. What's more, only 1 of the 4 core issues was addressed. No O2 sensor replacement. No proper resolution of misfires. No transmission diagnostics. No fuel pump replacement. The vacuum leak diagnostic is listed on the invoice, but the explanation doesn't make sense--especially when they claimed they couldn't run the car long enough for transmission testing, yet also said a test drive was done. Prior to dropping my vehicle off, it had misfires, but it started and ran. After picking it up, it won't even turn over. The situation is worse now than when I left it with them. Kaleb claimed it was running well right before pickup--but that clearly wasn't true. They are legally required under NDOJ guidelines to provide detailed documentation of diagnostic findings and repairs, and they've failed to do so despite repeated requests. I never expressed confusion. I approved the repairs--I simply wanted a record of why they were needed and what was found. Instead, I was dismissed and told I didn't understand, which is both false and insulting. This shop lacks honesty, transparency, and professionalism. I paid $900 for a car that's now non-functional, received no valid documentation, and was misled about what was done. Absolutely unacceptable. I would not recommend this shop to anyone under any circumstance.

They're affordable, let you know about other service recommendations without pressuring you, take the time to explain why you may need other services, and the waiting area is clean and welcoming. While you wait, there's usually cold water and some candy in the waiting room. They are usually pretty fast with getting your service done and I'm just now seeing they have specials as well! There were also several people that walked in while I was waiting asking for things and they are honest when they can't/don't have the supplies to execute a service. Really nice people!

However, my wife would have still been left stranded on the interstate in Fayetteville - or worse, potentially in an accident from driving on a very underinflated tire - had I not been on the phone with her and had her check the air pressure in her spare tire. My wife got a flat and had to pull over on the right shoulder on I-295 north just before exits 21 A-B-C (All American Frwy, Bragg Blvd). Long story short, PJ replaced the flat with the car's spare. My wife asked PJ if the spare was safe to drive on and he said yes, judging by the look of it. He should have checked the tire pressure. Instead, he told her she was good to go and left. PJ charged $45, payable via credit card (Square), which we thought was fair. My wife asked if she could leave a $5 tip and PJ rang her up for an even $50. If you want to leave PJ a tip, you need to tell him before he processes the transaction (there wasn't a tip-after option). I was on the phone with my wife and asked her to check the pressure in the spare before she got back on the highway. The spare was at 10 PSI and needed air. My wife has a portable car tire air pump/compressor. In her attempt to inflate the spare, the spare ended up going flat too. So, my wife was still stranded on the highway. I told her to call PJ and have him come back. Thankfully, he did. He inflated the cold spare to 45 PSI - high for a small car like a Corolla, but OK. Fortunately, my wife was able to drive her car home safely to Chapel Hill (about a 1.25-hour drive) and we went to Discount Tire the next morning. When PJ first showed up, his air pump was broken, so he had to use my wife's air pump. Luckily, she carries one in her car. Otherwise, I'm not sure PJ would have been able to help her. When PJ came back to help my wife inflate the spare, he brought with him a working air pump. In the time he left and came back, maybe he went to get a working one. Along with being polite and nice, PJ was also prompt. When my wife first called him, he said he would be to her in 15 minutes. He was on time. When my wife called him to return, he showed up again in 15 minutes. His response time was great. I also have to mention that PJ attempted to fix the flat, but the tire wouldn't hold air. We appreciated the attempt and his help overall. He told my wife he's been doing this for about 3.5 years. My wife found Quick Tripp Roadside Assistance by Googling "roadside assistance." Google recommended Quick Tripp based on her location. I do think Quick Tripp is worth calling, but you need to have some basic car knowledge/education yourself to be safe. I think PJ showed up faster than a service like AAA would. Also, AAA isn't perfect. One of the customers that showed up to Discount Tire the next day with us had AAA Roadside Assistance help her replace a flat with a spare. In doing so, AAA screwed her lug nuts on wrong - some fell out and some seized into the wheel due to being screwed on at an angle. Yikes. Be careful out there, folks.
