Cute little spot with a big, appealing breakfast/brunch menu. I went for the softshell crab benedict because I can never resist softshell crab -- it was a bit heavy on the breading, but the hollandaise sauce was delicious. My companion had the big breakfast sandwich, which was indeed so big, he couldn't finish it despite his large appetite. Welp, we didn't even get to eat and our experience was terrible. The staff that passed us on our way in didn't make eye contact or say hello or even hold the door or offer to let our lost looking faves know where to check in. She just rushed by. Ok, maybe she was deep in thought. So I asked if we needed to seat ourselves but neigh, there was a list. We asked the waitress behind the bar to be added to the list and she took my name and phone and said she would call when our table was ready. We told her we'd be right outside. We waited. And waited. And watched other people walk in and not come back out and we still didn't get our call. Checked to make sure the phone was on and YUUUUUP, it was on. Hunger was setting in. So I called to ask what the dilleo was. We were far past the 20 minute stated wait. The girl on the phone said she called several times but my phone was busy. Since when the eff are phones busy? This is 2015. Call waiting. Whatevs. She then said, "Uhmmmm well, we gave the table away because we couldn't reach you. If you want to wait .... Uhmmm ... We maybe can seat you." She was laughing this whole time. Does the staff not have eyes? We were right outside. I promptly told her we'd be going elsewhere. Poor customer service is an ugly scar. As an individual who works in the industry it is my favorite to explore the area. Trying different foods and restaurants is exciting. Honestly, in my opinion, was not blown away. The small cafe was not busy at all and we waited for two plates for longer than twenty minutes. Temperature of requested cooking technique was off as well. I found a small tiny hair on my pickle which was actually good in flavor till I found that. But being in the industry I brushed it off and let it go. The menu was very typical to me. Fried, fried, burger, burger. Prices high because you're in Beacon naturally. My fish was covered in some seasoning and served with a basic bland tartar sauce for $12-13 dollars. Really not very good. I'm disappointed I went here. My mom and I spent a hot, long day at Storm King Art Center, and were looking for somewhere to eat before driving back to NYC. I was craving a burger, and not knowing the area, we ended up here because I read some good burger reviews. My mom and I split a burger, and at medium well, it was fully cooked (more like well done), and just a large, bland hunk of meat. The sweet potato fries were coated in a strange seasoning that didn't seem to go (perhaps cumin?), and overall, it was just a disappointing meal. What a beautiful, quaint cafe with a huge menu selection! The food selection for Sunday brunch was really surprising - a huge array of traditional breakfast staples (french toast) along with some surprises (goat cheese frittatas) along with some great lunch choices. The carrot cake mini muffins given as a free bread appetizer were insanely delicious - I could have filled up on those alone!! My only complaint was that the chorizo in my chorizo and asiago frittata should have been cooked on its own before it was put in the frittata (it tasted like a raw hot dog) but the rest of the meal was fabulous. I just got my tonsills out along with a bone spur out of my nose so I look forward to making one of my first meals back in 'normalcy' at the Beacon Falls Cafe. By far the best burger Beacon has to offer. My son came up for the weekend and so we decided to scope main street (after picking him up from the train) for dinner. We both ordered the Cheddar Bacon burger and fries. Me, plain fries and he ordered the sweet potato fries. My only complaint is when I ordered the "plain fries," I did not get plain fries, I got seasoned fries. Okay, I might have been a bit cranky inside about it and showed it to our most delightful bubbly waitstaff (she was very cute). I said, look at this, does this look like a plain fry and what is this sprinkled all over it? She said, that's seasoning and I said, but then it is not a plain fry and I could see my son twitching at my very literal sense of the word PLAIN. okay okay - I might have overreacted and I know wanting to cry over seasoned fries and not plain fries is a big deal, but I do not eat burgers and fries often... This was probably the first time in six months. Lovely waitstaff offered to bring me more and I stubbornly said "No Thank You!" Why five stars? Simple, 5 minutes later she brought me over a plate of *DRUM ROLL* the most perfect plain fries I have ever had. Mother's Day Brunch. Busier than usual but staff seemed overwhelmed, inexperienced and misguided. A server named Joey attended to us. Overall, he was not the most punctual as he took 10 minutes to introduce himself to us. He did redeem himself after returning an order that was not cooked to specification and brought it back within 2 minutes. Menu is generic but its focus aims to please the demographic of the area whose palette is as simple as the food offered at this establishment. The wait staff irritates me the most. Three waitresses attended to one table outdoors, a couple who arrived 10 minutes after we were seated. They received coffee and water, and placed their order all before we had water served and a server acknowledge us. It seems as if the staff's indifference towards ethic folk truly shows how little Beacon has come since its cultural "transformation" occurred. The owner needs to train the staff better, especially if they are keen on hiring high school kids who are inexperienced and underpaid. All in all, there are better options for good eats in the area and Beacon Falls SHOULD NOT be on any list that represents quality, affordability and inclusivity. read more

My family and I were in Beacon for the day and we stopped in here for lunch. It's a small cafe, but fills quickly and was busy around 1:30-2pm on a Sunday. I ordered the special brunch sandwich- the soft shell crab BLT. I loved the BLT component but the soft shell crab (while great in texture) could have been more seasoned. It was a big crab though, and overall a big sandwich. Came with really good fries- long, hot and lots of them. My fiance went for one of the burgers- they have many. I don't remember the style but they all seem good. It was big and according to him "one of the best he had in a while". It seemed properly medium rare. My dad for the Reuben which he said he was good. My mom, the tuscan grilled chicken sandwich with a sub for a side salad (I should have done that!) for a sub charge. All in all, service was prompt and prices- while a bit high for the area, are what you'd expect for lunch around the $15 ish range. Would recommend if in the area. My girlfriend and I took a day trip out of NYC to Beacon over the weekend. We walked all the way down Main Street and decided to give Beacon Falls Cafe a try. We were both very glad we did. The server was very friendly and checked back with us regularly. They have a decent beer selection that wasn't over priced. The food was reasonably priced and tasted outstanding. She had the smoked turkey club panini and I had the big shenandoah burger. The burger was the best burger I have had in recent memory. There are so many eateries in Beacon! But many were closed on the Monday I came through town. I stopped at the Beacon Falls Cafe because it looked really cute and the menu had a diverse and upscale twist on comfort foods like mac&cheese with truffle oil, grilled cheese with challa bread, and of course the Bacon Blue Burger. Prices range between $8-15. Service was friendly and helpful, especially to the high-maintenance clientele that sat near my table. Since this was my only stop in New York on my cross-country road trip I went for the NY-style Reuben. Unfortunately... this sandwich fell short of my expectations. First of all, it was WAY TOO BIG. The bread was overloaded and the meat vs. sauerkraut ratio was out of balance, so I basically got three servings of beef with not much to add flavor. After a long absence owing only to a hectic life, my Wife and I went back to the Beacon Falls Cafe this past Saturday and are we psyched that we did! The menu had a few updates since we'd last been in, but we went for the ol' reliable in the form of a couple of burgers. She had the Black and Bleu Cheese and I had the Shenandoah (I think that's what it was called) with Cheddar Bacon and BBQ sauce. Dee-lish! This was after starting with a fantastic Artisan Salad that just knocked our socks off with roasted nuts and goat cheese. They have also now obtained a beer and wine list and they feature all local options. We had a couple of brews from the Kingston area and loved every drop. I have to go back and leave some room next time for the Ice Cream Float that is made with a local Stout Beer. So happy to have another source for awesome eats in Beacon! read more

This was a super cute cafe in Beacon about 7 minutes from the train station. The service was super friendly and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised at the sophistication of the food at a decent prize. grilled cesar salad- They grilled a head of romaine lettuce. I was very leery at first because I am not a fan of wedge salads. However the salad was had a burst of flavor with great texture. Grilling the lettuce gave it a charred taste but it was taken out before it wilted, so it kept the crisp texture. The dressing was a warm chipotle dressing with a kick and it had bits of corn and bell peppers. This was one of the most best and unique salads I have ever had. I am surprised places in the city have not had it. crab cake sandwich- The crab cake was packed with real crab meat and not that much filling with a crisp sear on the outside (just the way I like it.) The only critique is that I thought the bun/bread was a little too heavy for the crab cake. When I took I bite, all I tasted was the bread and not the delicate crab cake. I just ended up eating the crab cake without the bun. steak sandwich- Now, the bread on here was delicious! I think it was more of a panini, so it was buttery, garlicky and crisp. We went to Beacon Falls Cafe the day after Thanksgiving. All of us loved the food. Our waitress was exceptional, friendly , attentive, knew the menu so well. We asked for the chef to compliment him in person because everything was delicious! He came out and we were all touched by his humble approach and kindness. All eight of us are big fans of Beacon Falls Cafe and we will be coming back. When we were leaving the waitress gave us Christmas CD with their favorite Christmas songs. This place was super cute! Came here with two friends for Sunday brunch and we were seated promptly. I came here with a friend for brunch and fell in love with the food plus artwork that's for sale hanging on the wall. The cinnamon muffins made it to the table first and I knew it would be an amazing meal in that first bite. We shared our meals bc we couldn't decide between sweet and savory. Stopped In for lunch today because we had heard it was a good time. It's a nice little spot on the corner of Main Street in Beacon. They have inside and outside seating and we were lucky enough to come in as an outside table left. The menu is fairly priced with a little of everything to choice from. We started with one of the many craft beers and they're Rhode Island style calamari. It was probably the most unique and tasteful dish of calamari I'd ever had. For our entrees we ordered to burgers which are huge! The staff was friendly and very attentive. An all round good experience even with my plate being spilt on me as they cleared the table haha. We stop here every time we are heading upstate from LI. We have been here at least four times over the last five years and we always enjoy the food and feeling of the cafe. We are usually in a group of 5 to 8 people and the staff is always prepared and welcoming. The food comes out in the perfect amount of time from ordering and no one ever has to sit for an extended period of time waiting for their food. First off the food was great!! However I cannot say the same for the Service aka the jezebel waitress. (hello what am I chopped liver let's have some respect) There were other comments she made that were unnecessary and strange God definitely gave me the strength because oh the things I wanted to say to her and call and report her to her manager but I decided to choose this option and write a yelp review. Overall the Waitress affected the quality of the experience we were supposed to have luckily the food was delicious and there was another waitress who is blonde and tall she was so sweet and genuine, made great eye contact and made us feel comfortable. no complaints there. The waitress that We had was just inappropriate she was a short with brown hair and wore glasses I think her name was "Dee" or started with a D. I can't even remember her name. We definitely won't be going back to this restaurant because even though the food was good you also need good service and we actually traveled to try this place out so it's not like it's right around the corner and it's not like there was anything special that would make us travel back. On my second visit I had the Bacon Blue Burger (pictured) cooked medium and golly it was cooked the way I asked and the bacon was delicious. Really liked their menu. My dining partner and I went for a lunch. I had the grilled cheese club on challah bread. Good flavor and it is a testament that I gobbled it up fast. I also tried the smoked turkey club. Above average and worthy. I wasn't too keen on the chips with the sandwiches but my dining partner liked them a lot, and she noted she does not normally like potato chips. So that's a plus for Beacon Falls. The service was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing, and most of the tables were taken at the time we were there. The food was also made and served promptly, a good thing considering how starving we were. I did feel the cream soda was lacking in flavor, though. Also, if Beacon Falls is going to serve egg cream, it is crucual a spoon is given to be able to stir the chocolate syrup and better the flavor. I didn't receive a spoon. But a minor issue, and I guess it shows how good Beacon Falls was that I have to find something like that to complain about. Check it out if in Beacon. read more

Very good food, good service, especially post covid, but was surprised about two things... 1. Waitress appeared bothered by us having to ask for syrup for pancakes 2. For 6 people, a 25% gratuity was added to our credit card. NO NOTICE about the "gratuity added" on the menu and I have never seen more than 18%.... Hands down one of our favorite places to eat! We celebrate every birthday we can here. The food and service is always great. Brunch is my favorite meal and the menu is always evolving. I was spending the day with two friends and we decided to try out Beacon for lunch. We stumbled upon the Beacon Falls Cafe, and the menu looked great! We walked in after a couple and saw that they sat right down at a table. We didn't see a sign that said "please wait to be seated" so we also sat down at an empty table. One of my friends went to talk to a server that was on the phone to make sure we were okay to sit there. My friend was completely ignored, and then we were greeted by a server that said "Um, this is dirty, and we have a wait." We were apologetic and looked down at the table to see some water marks, but other than that the table looked clean. It was an honest mistake, and the server made us feel extremely un welcomed and embarrassed. We ended up just leaving and eating somewhere else, as no one offered to put us on a wait list or to accommodate us in any way. Being in the Hospitality business myself, I am so disappointed in this experience. It was not about the fact that we could not sit there, but solely the way we were treated that caused me to write this review. read more
