We had a window smashed during a large storm and needed the glass and window trim replaced. I really appreciate that the person who did the estimate was also the one who actually did the repairs, so it felt like end-to-end ownership and accountability. We worked with Moses, who clearly cares deeply about the quality of his work and not leaving a job unfinished. Moses is knowledgeable, ethical, and accountable. We ran into issues with the broken trim piece, because the manufacturer (starts with a J-W) doesn't make the correct size/shape anymore even though the windows are only 15 years old, and the manufacturer was unresponsive via both the contractor and homeowner forms. So we needed to get creative with how to replace the trim piece. Moses did extensive research trying to find options for us, presented us with choices, and took our suggestions as well. It took a few weeks because of all the troubleshooting, but he stayed in communication and didn't just give up or leave us hanging. I'm sorry to give such a low star rating but thought others might benefit by my weak experience with the Beacon Hill Glass staff. The appointment for Prince to give an estimate was messed up twice, but at least on the 3rd try, he arrived. I liked how he explained the installation of the windows and hoped for a competitive estimate to do the work. Two weeks went by and I didn't hear from any staff or receive an estimate by email, as promised. I talked to Prince by phone and he promised he'd send me an estimate. But - NOTHING. From the arrival for the estimate, Moses was friendly and professional, found and pointed out any small "could be" problems, willing to think together to find solutions to suit my budget and wishes. I have an unusually shaped desk (see photos), and had two different glass companies take measurements and ultimately fail to deliver the quality I was looking for. One was WAY off- the glass would actually stick out. The other one had to cut it in different parts to make it easier. HOWEVER, the glass kept on sliding and hitting each other where they met. Sometimes, chips of glass would fly towards my face. Ugh. Not fun. So we called Moses, and they painstakingly took the measurements and had it ready within two weeks! I had 5 bids on a 6 window job, some aluminium, some wood. I wanted double pane vinyl. I had a variety of experiences. But I found beacon glass to be so nice. They had the 2nd to lowest bid (higher by like 100$)(actually turned out he was running a special at the time of install and gave us 10% off so it was the cheapest bid)Moses found time on a busy holiday week to squeeze me in for a bid. Him and the other gentleman were funny and even were understanding and joking about the doggie doo in my yard. We decided we wanted them to come do our window job. Not only did they impress me and were not pushy sales people, or trying to sell what I didn't need (triple pane) but I couldn't find one bad review! And I looked! (I even checked the not recommended) The job was done in about 9 hours, and the windows are so beautiful. They fit so nicely, and even look better than the 3 windows we had from home depot. After moving from Renton to Seattle to improve my quality of life (See: Commute) I was not anticipating how expensive not only the move would be, but setting up myself in a new city. While struggling to make ends meet and keep my new place you can imagine how horrified I was when I broke a window at my new place three months after moving in. I was pretty desperate to get it fixed ASAP but did not know how I was going to afford it. Fast forward a day, and after reading Yelp reviews I decided to call Beacon Hill Glass. They were super responsive. Setup an appointment for the next day and the tech (Jay) came out and gave me an estimate that I didn't exactly like but is what I would call the industry standard. I wanted to make the appointment for the 15th of next month, as I wouldn't be able to afford it quite yet after digging myself out. Jay immediately got on the phone with the owner and they agreed to replace the window today and take a post dated check for when I could afford it (a practice I am sure is not an industry standard). Jay was professional and courteous, and after watching him dismantle the broken glass with obvious skill, I knew I could leave and go back to work and trust that the work would be completed. I had a 3rd story window replaced - I had already received the replacement glass (argon-filled) and just needed the cracked existing window taken out and the new glass put in. I contacted Herzog, and they gave me an estimate that was over $600 - not sure how they stay in business. After looking at reviews here on Yelp, I contacted Moses with Beacon Hill Glass, and his estimate was extremely fair and light years better. It took a little while to be able to schedule the replacement (I needed it done in off-hours), but Moses and his staff were very polite and attentive in getting it scheduled as soon as he could to accommodate my schedule. I wish all businesses operated like Beacon Hill Glass - Moses and the other gentleman that showed up were professional and efficient, and had the glass changed out quickly. The window was around 30' in the air and the replacement glass was slightly larger than optimal, not an easy job, but they had no problems at all in replacing it and making my window look new again. They even let me use their ladder quickly when they were done. It was a pleasure to deal with Moses and Beacon Hill Glass, and if I ever need any further glass work, they will be the first ones I call next time - I couldn't recommend them more. I called for an estimate on Wednesday morning, and had one by that evening. Everyone was professional, quick, and so incredibly nice. The quotes I received were also a bit cheaper than the "other guys". No complaints. Installation went fantastic. They were running a few minutes behind on arrival, and called to let me know (I was actually surprised to get that courtesy call). The guys were very careful not to damage any of the trim as they took out the old glass, and the new glass went in perfectly. And, they were patient with the chaos at my house while they installed. (4 kids, lots of noise, balls being kicked at them, us all running through their workspace... bonus points!) I couldn't be happier! read more

Excellent service, efficient, clean, and friendly. When our neighbor's house burned, it blew out one of our windows from the heat. We couldn't even get any of the glass companies we contacted to reply, or if they did, they wouldn't take such a small job. Beacon Hill Glass came over the next day after the insurance adjuster, measured our window, gave us a date when it would be ready, and showed up with it on that date! No delays, no excuses.
