We called our project "The Window From Hell." It was a HUGE trapezoid window up high in a 2-story living room, and it needed to be replaced after its seal failed. I got bids, and was the most impressed with Danny L at Signature Windows. We had a tight deadline because the home was going on the market and access to the window, especially in the rain, was really challenging. Meeting the deadline, and the safety of the installers, were non-negotiable. Danny came out the very next day to measure the Window From Hell and, not only did he give me the best price, but his company was the only one that had all the scaffolding equipment readily available at no extra charge. The window arrived sooner than expected, and installation was quickly scheduled to meet the deadline. Then we hit a snag: some epic rain made the cedar roof too slippery for safe conditions. Brent and his crew of expert (and very brave) installers rigged up a safe way to haul this brand-new Mother of ALL Windows up to the second floor and install it using very long ladders, secure scaffolding, and harnesses. I think we had 4 or 5 installers for this job. It took all day to get the old Window From Hell out and the new Mother of All Windows installed. But what a job! Perfect caulk lines, perfect cleaning of the glass, perfect clean-up of the job site, indoors and out. Job done ON TIME, SAFELY, and at an excellent price. If Signature can handle my Window From Hell, I am very confident they can install ordinary double-hung windows that exceed your expectations for quality, price, timeliness, and workmanship. Our initial meeting to talk about our project was informative and had no high pressure tactics, it seemed more like a discussion with a family friend. The new windows arrived promptly and Signature was able to schedule our installation a little sooner than we expected. We never needed to worry about when the job was going to get done. The installers were amazing. They corrected some inadequacies of the previous windows' installation, the new windows are properly sealed to the house. The siding and window casings that needed to be cut for the new windows are perfect, they are skilled craftsmen that are very good at what they do. The calking applied after the windows were installed looks like it was machine done at the factory. They were very careful to contain the dust to the work area and cleaned thoroughly when they were done, there was no mess remaining and the only indication that they had ever been here was our beautiful new windows. This was the best contractor experience we have had, absolutely would recommend and use them again. read more

We went with Signature to replace to standard windows, and swap a large picture window out for a new bay window. We had issues with the bay window that started a few months after it was installed. Signature was very responsive, and replaced the window free of charge. Unfortunately, the issue ended up being with the construction of the window itself, so the 2nd window also had issue. Replacement #3 was also free of charge, but we didn't figure out the cause of the issue until after window #3 was compromised as well. Signature replaced the window again, #4, but this time with a different brand of window, upgraded from the original - again, at no cost to us. So while our journey isn't typically "great", it's refreshing to work with a company that stands behind their work and products they sell. They were responsive every step of the way. I generally judge a company by how they react to problems, not just by the fact there were problems. And Signature earned my 5 stars. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

We are just THRILLED with the windows just installed. Owner (Brent) was involved all the way, and the installation team was amazing. They did such precise work, and took great care with prep (covering furniture with drop cloths, putting up a barrier in the living room to reduce dust, and did a very thorough cleanup!) Dima, his helper did a good job as a backup for Russ. He was responsible for cleaning up after installation. He cleaned all the sawdust and mess and cleaned the window frames and glass. He also cleaned up our yard, leaving it looking like they were never there. We're very happy with the quality of Simonton windows and doors. Our home is so much warmer and quieter since installation. The locking mechanisms on the windows and door seem to be of good quality and they slide smoothly. We replaced our old aluminum gridded window with the daylight max and the view is astoundingly improved. It seems that the windows are larger but they're the same size, just clearer. The warranty ensures that if there are any issues in the future, we know that it would be repaired or replaced without problems. We're happy that we chose Signature Windows and will be very comfortable for years to come. Brent and Steve came out to my place to take some measurements. They were very friendly and very professional. They gave me a good feeling about the company. In terms of representing their company at the measurement appointment, they did a good job. 2 major issues. First, it took Signature Window and Door TWO WEEKS to get me a written quote. That was unacceptable. They blamed it on Codel, but what was odd was another company we got a quote from gave us their quote within 2 days, and they used Codel also. The second issue was price. Out of 6 quotes this company was the second highest and more than double the lowest bid, which was $4200. They wanted $8800+ to replace a slider and create an interior door. I wonder if it was the "Mercer Island premium" that some of these companies think they can charge. The other bids were all around 4-7k except for one other which was almost $10k. That other company got one star for that and some other shady business tactics. All in all I thought Brent and Steve were very nice. I was going to give only one star but those two guys worked hard and were the only positive experience I had with this business. I'm sure they cannot control pricing as they are not the owners or the managers. My advice to this company is take a look at your pricing, it's nuts. I don't review things often, but after the amazing experience I had with Signature, I had to go online to share my experience. Unlike all of the other window shops that came in to give estimates, Signature didn't try to up-sell me to the most expensive windows. They found the most cost-efficient models that would still provide the same heating efficiencies and look like the models that were twice the price. After getting their total estimate for 15+ windows and sliding door, it was a no brainer to go with them. Even though the cost was significantly less than others, the installation and service couldn't have been better. Their installer built custom frames for all of the windows during install! I thought I was going to have to get a contractor to do that work separately, but no Signature window took care of us from estimate through the install and continued to their customer service follow up to ensure an awesome experience. Finally had no choice but to pull the trigger on the unexciting yet expensive project of replacing all my windows... the only way replacing your windows could be more unpleasant would be a bad install company so I was worried about who to choose... went with Signature and got incredible service start to finish! I did the downstairs of my place only to split the cost up between this year and next year and I didn't get an ounce of pushback or attempts to upsell me by the rep (I'm in sales so I appreciate how much restraint that takes haha!) and I'll definitely be calling them to do the upstairs next year. I want to be clear. The rating here is not a ding against Signature overall, or even the windows. If I want to use a single description, it's that Signature feels like they're 50% of the task. Let me explain. I reached out to Signature for Simonton bedroom window replacements because Home Depot's Exteriors group was incompetent. Period. They didn't want my money. But I wanted Simonton windows, because I did like the one Home Depot installed. Unfortunately, there are only two Simonton contractors in the area: Signature and Home Depot. Negative #1: The gal who answered the phone when I called, was rude and didn't know what she was talking about. I asked about Sound & Security package for windows, she didn't know what that was (it's right there in the Simonton brochure). I asked for a ballpark quote, she said they can't give one. I pressed the issue and ultimately almost demanded to talk to a sales rep (I'm in sales. Ballpark quotes are par for the course.). Brent contacted me back and we went back and forth, settling on a ballpark that made sense. We went forward with the transaction and settled on windows that met requirements, prices were in a good range. Got done within 2-3 weeks and they look better than I thought they would. Igor and his associate did a great job with challenging openings. Negative #2: Brent had said that the trim was going to be stained white. It's not, it's stained brown. It turns out that the future color of the siding will be a dark beige color, which should blend nicely with the trim anyway. Negative #3: There is a gash inside one of the windows, in the embedded plastic. I don't blame Signature for the gash, but it's disappointing that they don't check for defects before scheduling customer installs. Negative #4: Signature does not do warranty work for the window. Something is submitted off to Simonton, which gets farmed out to another contractor. Signature only does new installs, but I feel that if they don't catch defects before installation, they should be on the hook for the replacement install. Worse, you're pawned off to the office staff, who are way more rude than your initial consultant. So, in summary: - Initial outreach: Bad. - Order process: Good. - Scheduling: Good. - Install process: Good. - Service/Support: Bad. Two bads = two stars off. I think that's fair. read more

To start, Jessie was so great in showing me the products at their showroom and helped me so much in picking the door and window I wanted based on my needs. Brent came out for the estimate and even tho my house is 78 years old and had some unique issues was able to work (via phone) with Igor to make sure the replacement was doable. Lastly, Igor and Mike are a fantastic team! Working to perfect all the imperfections with my house to ensure my new sliding glass door was solid, safe, secure and works like a charm. Same with the kitchen window replacement. No more air leaks and this winter will be so much warmer with these improvements. LOVE the blinds inside the door, function, privacy AND no dusting! Also Igor and Mike protected my deck, floors, etc while working and did a great job at cleanup too! Professional, friendly, courteous and really KNOW how to get the job done the first time :) I would like to give a even higher ranking but only option is 5 stars...for me though Signature Window and Door deserve 100 stars!!! So when Jake Hose arrived at our house, we were thankful when he let us know what to expect! We got a bid from a friend in the window industry and were wanting to compare prices. We were honest about where our quote landed, and he was honest with his ballpark estimate. We had to go with our friend due to the fact that we were looking for something different. We appreciated the candor from Jake, and although we aren't going to go with this company, we can tell they are straight shooters. These guys came out and did an extensive survey, didn't try to up-sell us and really spent some time explaining the science and mechanics of the Simonton windows we decided on. Eddie and his crew did an incredible job replacing 14 windows in our house without even leaving a trace of evidence that they were there. I'd give this business more stars if I only worked with their owner Randy. We met him yesterday and he was kind and helpful in the showroom. Then his consultant Jake Hose turned into Mr. Hyde today. We were ready to move forward with a project of replacing our entry doors but had questions about the paint/stain colors since it would be a custom $10K door. After some emails back and forth Jake seemed to have a personality change and replied with a rude email saying he didn't have time for us. He had "already spent 9 hours" on us and had other clients to attend to. (We had only initially met less than a week ago) He said to go to the ProVia website if I need more info. Their website doesn't have price info genius. So I replied to say that was disappointing and we'd contact the office when ready to move forward. He replied saying he asked for another design consultant to work with us. (Diva.) In my emails I was always nice and thankful for his time and patience so I don't know what happened. If you think we're going to move forward with ordering a custom $10,000 door then expect some questions for clarification because this is a "forever" door and we want it to be EXACTLY what we want. Jake obviously doesn't see value in going above & beyond for his clients. This is your job. Do it and get over yourself. read more

He explained every aspects of window design, installation process, pros & cons of different installation, asking customer preference, and showing samples. Unlike other vendors who takes 60-90 mins to explain the company, product, reviews, Brent focus was getting to the point, giving the right product choice and giving the quote price on the spot. Measure 5 Times, Cut Once Our Sales Representative provided an in-home sales consultation for windows in our 1929 Seattle home. We purchased $14K of Marvin windows and were satisfied with the process including sales, measurement, installation, and the product installed. Because of the positive experience we had with the windows, we placed an order for a beautiful fir-grained Codel door for $3,300 including installation on July 20th. As colors were not specified on the contract, I was ensured the door was going to be finished and painted before installation in an email exchange with our sales rep. The day before our installation we received a call saying we needed to postpone our installation until early October, because a lack of materials. The new door arrived unfinished and was, per the installer, cut "too short". He stated "they will need to replace the door". We called our sales rep on the day on installation, October 5th, and were assured that is was a quality control error on their part that the door arrived unfinished/unpainted, and that Signature Windows would "get you a new door" because it was the wrong size. When we called our sales rep on October 14th for an update, we were told that he "was working on it". Codel contacted us on October 21st stating that they need to measure the door in order to determine if it was a measuring or manufacturing error, and stated they made the door to the specifications given by Signature Windows. On October 27th, still with no call form the sales rep or the Signature Windows office, we called to find out what the plan was. admin from Signature Windows, NOT our sales representative, stated they would remove the door, replace it with a temporary one, "adjust" the door to compensate for the 1/4" gap, and paint/stain the door per our original agreement. They did not offer to "replace the door" as originally promised. We were told we would be satisfied with the adjustment. On November 5th, the old door was removed, and the installer attempted to fit the temporary door, which did not line up to the locks in the new door frame. After declining a piece of plywood to cover the existing door opening, the temporary door was cut to fit and was screwed into the frame, so we were forced to enter our house through the basement for two weeks. On November 11th, the installer returned with what should have been the "adjusted" and stained door. The door was not elongated in any way. He glued a 1/4" piece of wood the bottom of the door and used a sharpie to hide the color difference. The door was stained a dark wood color on both sides, not white inside per the email conversation with our sales rep. When we called our sales rep to state that this was not acceptable, he stated that the installer made a mistake by not telling the stainer/painters that it was to be a two-tone door. Our sales rep stated he would order us a new door. On November 12th, the sales rep called me and stated the new door would be installed on November 25th. I asked for an email containing the correct measurements, door colors, and installation date. Our sales rep stated he would send that "ASAP". After no response, on November 17th I called the office who stated they would relay the message to the sales rep. Our sales rep responded to an email from July 15th stating "this confirms the stain/paint colors". I responded with a question regarding the exact stain color. He never replied to this question. On November 25th, a satisfactory door was installed. Signature Windows initially offered a $250 refund for our time and trouble, a 7.5% discount on a $3300 door. After we rejected this offer, the matter was escalated to the owners of the company, who offered a $1500 refund. Unfortunately, even the exchange with the owners was disappointing. They stated that the color we requested was not available (this was NEVER communicated to us by our sales rep), and that we were never charged for staining/painting anyway (despite reassurances from our rep that this service was included in the cost of the door). Furthermore, they argued that our request for a $2500 refund for lost PTO after taking an additional 5 days off of work, increased heating costs because of the gap, and countless hours of project managing on their behalf, was "unprecedented", and that our "challenging" situation was akin to a car needing regular servicing, a new computer needing troubleshooting, or a doctor misdiagnosing an illness. In conclusion, the products that were installed are wonderful. We will plan on purchasing more Marvin Windows and Codel doors for our home, but will never use Signature Windows again. read more

I like Signature's low pressure sales approach and pricing but the installation experience was a bit of a nightmare. The french doors hada flaw and one set of windows came from the factory mis-manufactured and had to be reordered. The reorder took way too long (or it was fast and they didn't get the team back out fast). What should have been a 1-2 week in and out experience turned into an almost 3 month ordeal. read more

Interesting how Signature can go eight weeks with no communication to us while holding our money and then immediately come back defending themselves against our very factual review. They have denied we are a customer of record to the Better Business Bureau but we've provided full documentation of their charges to refute that claim. read more

Windows are good quality. Unfortunately there installation process and customer service follow up was very poor. What should have taken a day perhaps two ended taking what seemed like months. Initial measurements were wrong and then a secondary measurement was wrong as well. Crews seemed inexperienced with exception once things went wrong they did send "there top guy" in who did fix a lot of the mistakes. At the end of the day you just wanted to end the relationship with the company, make payment of what was owed and move on. They mentioned this was just poor timing, new crew etc, but had a sense it was not. I would not recommend them just based off of installation. read more

They were very responsive to our inquiries and when they visited our home, they took their time to explain everything to us. We never felt rushed. I didn't think it mattered but when I look at our windows and our neighbor's windows (they don't have trim), I just think it just improves our home's appearance.
