Great price, friendly, and a huge selection- what else can you ask for? Having AC in the summer helps!

Stopped by yesterday and it was kind of a zoo with a steady flow of people weaving through the very limited aisle space. Found a few unique things but was thrown off by how expensive items were. I guess I didn't expect vintage stores to cost so much if not a designer piece. If you want to sell items, proceed to the back and you'll need to give your ID. You have the option to drop items and come back or wait 15 min and they decide with they want to buy. I was told they are really full and need to clear items during the current sale. So they only take very unique pieces. Don't try to sell your used items from stores like gap, target, h&m. They won't offer anything. Kinda surprised since I saw pretty worn down Nikes and other heels that were very used. While the stuff I brought in wasn't a high end brand, the clothes were in great condition. Overall, items were clean and organized nicely based on color. However, very cramped space making it hard when it's crowded. The staff could be nicer with greeting people or if you want to sell. Don't expect that warm hello at the door. They have fitting rooms. Didn't see a restroom.

Very organized. The racks are colored coded which is super super useful. However, the selection skews mainly fast fashion to a lot of super vintage items. Overall, I would come here to look for unique pieces to draw inspiration from and not necessarily wear. I didn't get lucky and walked out with nothing.

    Hmmm...

Lots of very unique pieces! Less organized than most other thrift stores (they sort by color?) but lots of good finds if you search! :)

It's a buy sell trade, so it's pretty hit or miss, but you can score some amazing pieces

This location is my favorite because it's small enough to navigate and busy enough that there's always new stuff coming in!

I am sure I took lots of photos and did a review but they're not posted here. Bottom line is they have a wide variety of unusual items that people donate. I really enjoy looking and sometimes I find a nik knack for my daughter! There's always CD's and books too. I'm recommending you visit either location.

But when things are normal, the lighting is excellent, the clothes are well organized and the staff is always, and I repeat, always polite and friendly. They are business people and this is their business and customers need to understand that. As with any business based on donations, you can find wonderful things at very reasonable prices or you can find nothing at all to your liking. But that is why Unique Boutique -- and each item is unique -- is so much fun. A note -- someone reviewed it saying "I called to ask about furniture and the guy said no and hung up the phone..." This is what I mean about customers not understanding retail...you asked a question, he answered it and why should he stay on the phone with you ? There is no way this store has the space to accommodate furniture and once that is clear, there is nothing more to say, so salespeople hang up. If you would like them to apologize for not taking or selling something impossible, that is what you expect culturally, but other people do not think that is necessary in what is not a personal relationship. You asked a question, you got an answer, good bye, move on.

A must for fashion hunting! The selection was vast and must have patience to look through…read moreeverything so nothing is missed. Found enough items that I needed an extra suitcase to store all the amazing finds. A must for NYC consignment shoppers.

I'm appalled by the way Jonathan, the owner, responds to many of the 1-star reviews here on Yelp. Not only does he appear to respond mostly to negative feedback, but his tone often comes across as rude and overly defensive. Jonathan, having a business for 30 years doesn't give you a free pass to be dismissive toward people who are simply sharing their experiences. There's always room for growth and improvement. Instead of being combative, take the time to really listen to your customers and consider their concerns--this could lead to positive changes and an even better shopping experience. That said, I visited this consignment store a few days ago, and Jonathan himself was actually very helpful and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the consignment process and was very pleasant throughout. The store itself is a bit overcrowded with clothing and shoes, which can feel overwhelming, but the selection is solid and the pricing is reasonable considering the focus on high-end pieces. While the clothing leans more mature, there are definitely options for all ages. This shop is exclusively for women--I didn't see any men's items, but that's not a dealbreaker for me. The clearance section is located upstairs, and while I did find a lot of regular designer names, I didn't spot many high-end pieces there aside from a few pairs of shoes. Also, the upstairs area definitely needs better ventilation--AC or at least a few fans would make a big difference, as it was uncomfortably warm. As for handbags, I might have missed them since I was more focused on clothes and shoes, but I didn't see any notable high-end options in that category during my visit. I plan to return soon with more time to explore. Despite my concerns about how the owner responds to feedback online, I didn't experience any issues personally during my visit. I actually had a positive shopping experience, and I would recommend this store. I just hope that in the future, there's some improvement in how customer feedback is handled publicly--it really does make a difference.
