When I went to drink it the hot coffee spilled all over me and I ended up getting burned. I went to tell her two times and she was very nonchalant and didn't give a fuk. This is by far my favorite coffee shop in Northern Jersey. For starters the coffee is excellent, but the cafe's allure goes way beyond the coffee. The staff is what really makes this place special. The team is personable and go out if their way to make the atmosphere warm and friendly. Not like Starbucks where there is very little sense of community, B&B feels like the neighborhood spot. Slightly disappointed - after reading all the amazing reviews I thought I was in for a treat. Bean & Bean is an average coffee shop placed in a lovely location in Fort Lee. There are a multitude of coffee shops in the area that'll go above and beyond in their aesthetic and presentation and that's what personally draws me in. My boyfriend and I popped in to Bean & Bean on a Wednesday night, indoors it was pretty empty, but their outdoor seating was filled (definitely a plus to have outdoor seating). I ordered a Latte which I expected to come with a cute design on it and all I got was a mess of foam - the drink itself was average. My boyfriend ordered a small drip and bagel which he was pleased with. Overall it is a good location, but I'd probably just pop in to grab and go. read more

Nice coffee place right next to Paris Baguette at Hudson Lights. Thought it was weird having two cafes pretty much side by side. However, Bean definitely has a much stronger coffee game than Paris. My go to is the cold brew for the summer. It's nicely balanced and perfectly chilled. They have a few tables setup outside for those who prefer to get some fresh air and enjoy the sun. The inside is also very nice decorated as well. Love the mix of small tables as well as bench seating. Really opens the space up. read more

Great coffee spot! The honey oat latte is incredible if you like the taste of honey - I wish this place was closer so I could have this more often but it's a great little treat! The food is also really great - salmon avocado sandwich is delicious! Prices are definitely steep but I believe the quality justifies it! Plenty of seatings that are not super super comfortable but I find them actually better when I have to work. Really enjoy how they pull their shades down during super bright days to make it more of a cozy cafe vibe~ Also their manager is super friendly & helpful but I overheard she's leaving this location soon :( I'd recommend the business owners: Add mirrors into the bathrooms, so you don't have to "check yourself out" in the public hallway mirror. Larger hooks for backpack bags, and placing little signs mentioning keeping backpacks | large purses off the "long share tables". Maybe enforce if you want to keep a bag on the table it must be on one of the personal table? This will greatly help balance the space between those who enjoy their laptop life and those who simply want enjoy the coffee life minus their baggage. :) P.s definitely enough tables & seating for the space but the bags on table thing might make you think otherwise. Sometimes it'll look like a particular space isn't available but actually is. Cute and friendly place. Came here around 11:30am on a Sunday and was able to find street parking right up front (free on Sundays). Yay! The girl who took my order was super friendly and sweet. I took her recommendation and ordered the Italiano and coffee. I enjoyed the coffee very much. During the time I was there, I could hear that a lot of people order the americano here. I just wish they had a refill system where it's a little cheaper for a refill if you've stayed. The Italiano sandwich was very tasty and filling. I like the balsamic and pesto combo. The presentation was very nice too. I'm glad I got it. It makes me want to try the other sandwiches as well. There was plenty of seating when I arrived. But as the time passed most of the tables were filled. But the long tables still had some seating space. I sat in the long table in the back and there are outlets next to them so it's helpful. But I would recommend making sure you have a long enough cord so it can reach it. I'll be back! read more

Best Coffee around this part of town, Ive been to their new location in queens and this one does not disappoint. Free wi-fi, spacious, natural lighting fresh drip coffee that they change daily. Today they served Colombian drip and it tasted bold and on the medium roast side. I saw their page in the NY Times magazine so came here to spend quality time. Convenient parking in garage and this location is close to the George Washington Bridge so its easy to head back to the city. I never know what to order, but one of the workers is always super helping in suggesting new drinks for me to try. They're always so welcoming and fun to chat with. My boyfriend always gets an espresso/ espresso based drink and he loves it. I like more iced drinks and teas. The flavors are strong and there are many ways to customize your drinks (low sugar, variety of milks, agave). The matcha is strong and the coffees wake me up right away. This is my favorite coffee spot in the area when I'm feeling like spending a little more on a good cup of caffeine! There's free 3 hour parking in the deck right over and street parking around. I know... I was being difficult. Bathrooms are clean and there is a park with grass outside as well as some outdoor seating for nice weather days. Parking in the area isn't easy. While there is free street parking on Sundays, during the rest of the week there is a parking garage nearby with the first 90 minutes free. Not a bad option for a quick meeting for coffee. Otherwise, it's quiet there. It's in the center of town, but can be a hidden place to get away to (at least for a little while - up to 90 minutes to be exact). Bean & Bean is one of the newer coffee shops to open in Fort Lee right in the Hudson Lights complex. The prices are standard, and while I have not had any of their prepared foods, both their coffees and teas are brewed fresh while you wait. The staff if courteous, and extra ice, or a refill on hot water is given with manners. The space is new, and so it's clean since it has been open only a few months at this point, and has that urban industrial look that is trending. I went at an off peak time and was able to get a seat with my friends right away at one of their high tables, but I have driven by at peak hang out time and saw the space full. If taste and space is all you're looking for, then this is a nice clean new space to go hang out. I heard that they roast their own beans in the Queens location, but I am not quite sure if their teas are their own. Additionally, they also sell pre bottled drinks, but unfortunately these aren't unique to their company. They do however sell Bean & Bean totes and such which I thought was odd, but hey, you do you. Ultimately, would I come back? Yes. My three stars indicate that I am "A OK" with this place, but I can't say that I am four stars yet to indicate that "Yay! I am a a fan." If I could, I would rate Bean & Bean more of a 3.5, but unfortunately half stars isn't an option. They prepare their drinks well, and the food looks good, and hopefully, I will always be able to avoid the large swarms of people who are always looking for a place to sit and chat for hours on end in the area. read more

When this franchise came into this town, I presumed Bean and Bean was just another Starbucks wanna-be. Upon trying this establishment's regular coffee and pastries for the first time recently, I learned of my erroneous assumptions. Ever since Starbucks emerged, I came to expect that the regular coffee at the espresso-oriented stores would be terrible. Bean and Bean turned out to be different. Its regular coffee had a well-balanced body and flavor, which spoke of its premium quality. The coffee was enjoyable by itself as well as when it was accompanied by sweet pastries. It was too bad that such a good quality coffee had to take a back seat in these days as most customers went for specialty drinks instead. Bean and Bean's selection of pastries is smaller and more expensive compared to the competitions. The ones I've tried made me realize that Bean and Bean also paid attention to the quality of what it presented to customers. I had Monkey bread, plain and almond croissants, all of which I consumed on the following day of my purchase. The store manager placed each item into the wax paper envelope individually. I expected all of them would be somewhat drenched in butter on the following day. To my surprise, there was hardly any butter that was absorbed in the paper envelope. And, each of the pastries retained its shape and flakiness. In the United States, it is rather difficult to find a pastry chef who knows how to restrain himself or herself with butter. This one, who supplied to Bean and Bean, knew how to achieve "balance" instead of "excess" with ingredients. That explained the higher prices of the bakery items at this franchise. I walked away with the impression of "balance" that Bean and Bean strove for in its offerings. I didn't have to compromise the quality of either the coffee or the pastry. Instead of riding the coat tail of Starbucks, Bean and Bean should emphasize its difference from its competition more going forward. I liked the fact that its coffee wasn't so bold like Peets or Starbucks. read more

It's a nice trendy cafe located by the open green space near the Modern, so it's very clean and feels nice to be there especially with the large windows. They also serve a variety of pastries and bites. I'm not an overnight oats gal, but they had free servings to taste and it was pretty good! Reminds me of a cafe you would find tucked away in Williamsburg. The only downside to this place is that they don't have a separate parking lot. They do allow you to park by a local parking space, but there is a time limit there. So either leave your car at home or come knowing you'll have a time limit for free parking. read more

So I came here with my girlfriends after church awhile back and although this place's interior is spacious and pretty modern, a lot of things made this place go from a five star to a two star... the first thing, the parking situation is horrendous (there are only metered street parking which is near impossible to find, or there's a parking garage where you have to pay per hour). Next, although the staff are really friendly they are pretty slow. At first when we arrived there wasn't anyone there, so we were able to order quickly and I was able to get my drink pretty quickly; however, as they were making my friend's drinks and heating up our food, there were a lot of people who came so our drinks and foods were lost in the making. We waited about 10 minutes until we reminded them and then they got it to us (but even so, it took another 10ish minutes). Even all the other customers were complaining that their drinks and foods weren't done. Anyways, the decor is lovely and the seating is plentiful, but for the amount of time we waited and the fact that we have to pay for parking is a downfall. I'm not too sure if i'll be back, especially since there are so many other good cafes around this area, but it's cool to know this place is here. I'm always in the area and I've been coming to Bean & Bean since it's first opened and had it's free ice coffee promotion. The interior is fresh, modern, and has a different feel from all of the other cafes around. The place is always clean too. Food & Drink While their drink and food selection isn't extensive, what they do have are flavorful. I've tried their ice americano, ice green tea latte, and ice honey latte. They're all good. But I especially recommend the ice honey latte! Sweet but not tooo sweet very unique. Their sandwiches taste very healthy and fresh. I usually get a sandwich here after the gym before work. As for their pastries, I wasn't a big fan of their pound cake tastes a little like play doh but I had other people try it and they said it tastes good. I personally recommend their chocolate muffin :) I've also had their oatmeal, chia seed, and Greek yogurt. Get the oatmeal!! The presentation of their food and hot drinks are also mention worthy. Wow!! I must say that morning poached breakfast sandwich is to die for as well as the hummus sandwich! It's a little up there is price, but it's worth it. Not only did I eat the morning poached breakfast sandwich one morning for breakfast and felt satisfied, I went in a second time and had the hummus sandwich for breakfast and also felt satisfied. There are so many coffee shops in fort lee but none of them are even close to decent! I was happy to see a place that actually cares about what kind of beans they serve. I love coffee and I love supporting companies that are serious about their coffee :) the place is really pretty- with wooden benches and high ceiling chandeliers.
