Great pour over and latte!
Edward K.

My wife and I were heading into the city for a weekend outing and wanted to kick it off with a great cup of coffee. Roast'd certainly got the job done! First plus is the free parking. The shop itself is modern/rustic, with plenty of coffee laying around to let you know they mean business. The gentleman working behind the counter was very pleasant and walked me through the benefits of the pour over process with the various beans they have. I went with a medium/dark roast pour over and it was really good. I could taste the various flavor notes and my palate isn't usually that strong. My wife enjoyed an excellent latte. Prices are pretty reasonable for the quality. Final bonus is that you end up pointed right at the George Washington Bridge upon departure!

Lots of coffees to try here! I've visited a few times and each time I've tried something different. The first time I tried a special, rose cardamom latte. The other times I visited no specials were posted. I tried the Amazin' mocha. The name is fitting. Finally I had to try one of the "regular" coffees. They have about 8 to choose from light to dark roast and from different countries. I had the Legender, which is a medium-dark roast and according to the employee that helped me the most popular. You can have the coffee made from the espresso machine or as a pour over. I went for the pour over; it was my first time having a pour over from a coffee shop. I also bought a quarter pound of 3 different beans to try. Not exactly a place you'll go for pastries but I tried the blueberry crumb cake and it was good. There are a few stools to sit at but this defiantly seems more like a grab and go type coffee shop.

This is a gem! When you think that typical supermarket brand coffee - on sale - is about $8 a pound at a minimum you'll realize why paying a few dollars more a pound for fresh roasted coffee beans is the way to go. And if you think about what you pay for a premade cup at a chain it's a no brainer. The coffee here is out of sight. We have a small cuisinart grinder and it takes us seriously 45 seconds more to pour in some beans and whir them up. Then it's no more trouble than regular canned grinds. But the flavor! Outrageously good!!! And every week there is a different selection of light, medium and dark roasts. If you want you come in for fresh brewed coffee or tea and you can nosh on the baked goods sold there too. I highly recommend trying the coffee here if you're a fan. I'm so excited this store is in the neighborhood.

the ONLY place im going from now on for a quality latte. The taste is incredibly smooth, Zero bitterness, and perfect temp. The staff was so friendly and answered all of our questions. Ive never guzzled a latte so fast due to how smooth it was. Pastries were also so good and paired perfectly with the coffee. I highly recommend. Ive been to so many coffee shops in bergen county and these people care a lot about the quality of coffee they are serving.

Love this cute little cafe! My go to is the Ethiopian drip coffee. They have opened new location in Newport, Jersey city. Super friendly people.

Cute coffee shop right by the highway. There's outdoor seating and they roast their own beans as well. Friendly customer service and they're dog friendly! Indoors, there are some counter seats by the window. Variety of coffee and tea and a small selection of pastries. Ordered a flavored latte and a chai latte. Chai latte was on the milkier side and I wish there was a stronger tea flavor but it was nicely spiced! Their latte was very smooth. Reasonable prices and a great coffee spot!

The cold brew is super well rounded in flavor, super friendly baristas and staff as well.

Another owner served well-roasted coffee at Fort Lee. It's better than NYC coffee place and I can feel the owners' enthusiastic passion for coffee. Great aroma, friendly service, and good vibes.

Pulled off the road, looking for caffeine, and stumbled across this amazing coffee roaster and espresso puller. The espresso is rich and creamy, with a beautiful crema and full rounded cocoa profile, perfectly balanced. Macchiato done right!

Stopped in on the way to another location and I will say in the morning, getting to this location can be challenging. Driveway is right before a turn off and if you miss it, not easy to get back to. Quaint coffee shop, only standing room so no sitting with a laptop to work here. Only one other person in line when we arrived, and the service was excellent. I got a standard pour over coffee and fun to watch them make it. If you have a chance to swing in, I'd recommend.

Best roasted coffee beans! Service is always great and super helpful. Small location but always people coming in and out.

I am on a mission to try as many coffee spots in my area and this little jam came up in my search. The location is a bit off the beaten path and unless you know about it - not easy to find. There is some parking up front. What stood out most was the giant coffee roaster in the middle of the store. They roast their own coffee and have a very robust menu to choose from. Specialty coffees are available by origin and preparation. Another thing that stood out was how nice everyone was. Those who came on seemed to be regulars and the baristas knew their names and orders. Everyone was very nice and eager to answer questions about the menu and neighborhood. The place is rather small with a tiny sitting area. While there is room to sit and a Wi-Fi password, and some people came in a stayed to have a conversation over a cup of joe, the sitting area is tight and it would be difficult to work there for the day. In my mind, the place is for the coffee lover who likes to grab and go. I had a latte with regular milk but for next time will properly venture out and try something new. If you like your coffee and curious about the coffee making process, this spot is a great stop to add to your coffee drinking routine.

Croissant and americano

Tucked away next to a gas station, I would never have known to come here if not for Yelp. The parking lot is basically a hill right off the highway so it's a bit nerve racking getting there. Not too many places to sit, and not much to look at out the window so keep this in mind. The barista was super friendly and helpful and I ordered beans, which are a new favorite, and the last croissant and an americano. He offered to heat up my croissant which I appreciated. It's also nice to know that the beans are roasted in each location, so I'm eager to try their other locations!

Maple latte, delicious!

I would say Service is pretty nonexistent as you order on the counter and you see yourself with no waitressing. The cashier lady was also pretty rude and not accomodating to my request (make my drinks less sweet) so they lose a store for that. Atmosphere is cute and vibes are great, definitely has modern and traditional Korean vibes. However, I would not say that this is like a traditional tea house? Having been to A LOT of tea houses in Korea, their menu and concept is definitely far from what a traditional teahouse is like. For instance, a traditional teahouse would have assorted rice, cakes and traditional, Korean desserts, however, I feel like this place used modern French pastries, and put a Korean twist on them, which I would say is not very Korean in reality. Baked goods were OK. It tasted stale. Losing a star for that as well.

While deciding on what to order, the owner offered to make me a drink that was off the menu. How about a mixed one with strawberry, Matcha and coconut? Hey, if the boss is recommending it I'm all for it. My son got the ube and coconut. OMG, both drinks were so darn yummy. I am not an ube fan whatsoever, but my son insisted I take a sip. I have to say it was the best ube drink I have ever tried. The coconut mixed with the strawberry and matcha is a game changer. The teddy bear made of ice was so cute and makes for a cool IG pic. The owner was sweet enough to ask if we liked it. I gave her the thumbs up and said they were excellent and that we will be back. Oddly they also serve pho here, it's not a restaurant per se. We didn't have any so I can't comment. But definitely come for these yummy Vietnamese concoctions. Street meter parking only.

The teddy bear ice was as cute as advertised but my drink left a lot to be desired. I got a Teddy Strawberry Matcha and my girlfriend got a Teddy Mango Matcha w/ Oat Milk. My drink was very 'meh'. I got regular milk and it feels like the whole drink was overpowered by the milk flavor. I got just hints of matcha and hints of strawberry. And for $7.50 for the drink it was a let down. On the other hand my girlfriend's mango matcha with oat milk was excellent. Each flavor was well represented and none of them were overpowering. I really enjoyed the taste I got of her drink and my girlfriend really liked it too. The service was friendly and they also serve pastries. I'd try them again.

It's smack in the middle of Fort Lee's Main Street, adjacent to the new Fort Lee Commons Park so easily walkable and central to everything. 2. Well, it's kinda glam inside. It's a coffee shop with green velvet booths (can't even remember if I ever visited a coffee shop with actual booths) and pretty gold-embedded wallpaper and trim all around. Kinda like a Dubai chocolate bar that came to life. And that's kind of where it ends for me. I gave this spot two tries. On the first visit. I ordered a mocha and could barely taste any mocha, so I brought it back to the counter to ask if they can pour more. They did. Gave it a good stir. Still couldn't taste it. On the second try, I ordered a potato Turkish bagel and asked for smoked salmon with it (which I saw they used in one of their sandwiches). What I got was a Turkish potato bagel (for which the potato part is invisible) and a whole other smoked salmon sandwich. No wonder my bill came out to $29?! The cashier understood I wanted a smoked salmon sandwich AND a bagel. So, lesson learned: a Turkish bagel is served and eaten differently than a traditional bagel, which would've come with the smoked salmon in the inside like a sandwich. Also ordered a biscotti latte. Biscotti taste is (very) subtle but I think it was there?? Best part about my second visit is the manager, Mo, came over to check on us and offer us refresher drink samples. Very nice guy (thanks again, Mo!) If you're an artisan coffee head who seeks a deep enriched tasteful coffee, I'd go elsewhere. If you're looking for velvet booths, instagrammable background, and pretty-looking pastry display, check it out. It's all looks and no depth.

I noticed that Mavi's has installed wall mounted televisions, which scroll menu items, specials, and upcoming events. This was my first time ordering from their brunch menu and it was outstanding. My Western Omelette (ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, egg, potato, arugula, almond slices) was an excellent choice. Every ingredient was fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it was accompanied by a side salad and two large slices of multigrain bread. The other items were the artistically presented Avocado Salad (Avocado, tomato, onion crisp, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, arugula mixed salad, almond slices with balsamic glaze and sesame dressing) and the Toowoomba Shrimp Donkatsu (crispy, golden-fried cutlet smothered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun Toowoomba sauce with shrimp, onions, and mushrooms, served alongside a half-portion of pasta). This dish is succulent, creamy, pleasantly spicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll never dine at Mavi's without ordering a Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, mushroom, bulgogi beef, kimchi, scallion, spicy mayo drizzle). I was excited to finally order dinner after hearing good things, but my husband and I were unfortunately disappointed with the experience. We ordered takeout for dinner: Toowoomba Shrimp Pasta with Tonkatsu and the Spicy Original Tteokbokki (rice cakes) with Fried Kim-ma-ri (fried seaweed rolls). The shrimp pasta had good flavor but the portion was way too tiny. After only three or four bites, it was gone. There were about 4 pieces of shrimp in the entire dish and they could've added more pasta, given that it's not an expensive ingredient. The tonkatsu was also underwhelming. It was a small piece served in a large container that made the portion size look even more skimpy. I was also disappointed in the tteokbokki. It was mostly sauce with no egg and only a few pieces of fish cake, again served in a container that was far too large for the amount of food provided. The kim-ma-ri pieces were fine but also very small. Overall, the meal was underwhelming. For a total cost of nearly $50, the quantities were just way too small. We were left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry.
