As soon as I walked in the cafe I was able to see the place was packed but the place was so quiet. This spot is perfect for studying. There is so much room and the environment seems overall quiet. I ended up ordering a regular black ice coffee and a vegan brownie. I am not vegan but I am a huge fan of vegan baked goods. I just think it is more moist and taste better. The brownie was so good. Usually vegan products are a little more pricey but the price was reasonable. The coffee was strong, just that way I like it. I hate watered down ice coffees. read more

Bean & Bean is a place I stop when I'm driving home from work in Manhattan to Long Island and need a mental break and pick me up from the god awful traffic. It's horrible and exhausting and every time I drive home I swear it's going to be the last time but then I come to Bean & Bean and I have some delicious coffee and all is right in the world. So to be honest, I don't think this is a place I'd come to study, which is ironic considering it's probably well known as a great place to study considering how many people I saw on laptops and the ample amount of outlets. It's a little too open for me and cold. It's definitely not a cozy shop, it's much more modern. When I walked in I felt like everyone was staring, there's just no privacy I think I would be distracted every time someone walked through the door. It's definitely a cool spot, lots of seating, high top tables, couches, regular tabes. It was just a little too open and cold for me. The first time I came in I wasn't sure whether I wanted a cold brew or hot drip coffee so I got both. The cold brew was $5 and change and I thought it was yuck. I love cold brew, have an obsession with it actually and I was super disappointed that I didn't like this one. Far far too bitter and I drink my coffee without sugar. Their drip coffee, however, was really tasty. They had two pour over options, which were tempting but for a price of $7, I just couldn't justify spending that much on a cup of coffee. If someone has had their pour overs and they're life changing, please message me and I will happily go get one. The parking is terrible in my opinion, very hard to back up, the spots are tight and the aisles don't leave you much room to maneuver. Their menu looks delicious. I always see someone making sandwiches, wraps and salads when I come in and the space looks really clean. The service is really nice. Great cafe with plenty of natural lighting. It gets really crowded at certain times, but there is always a seat available. I never have any problems finding an outlet either. The drinks are expensive, but you're paying to stay there for hours so it's reasonable. The staff are polite and very knowledgeable about their coffee. The food is okay, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. The parking lot is limited. When it gets too crowded, they enforce a "2 hour" parking limit, forcing you to move your car or else they tow it. Funny cause last month, it was 3 hours. Seems like they are just changing the rules depending on how crowded it gets. Sometimes the parking lot isn't even full and they ask you to move your car...what? Favorite study spot ever! The space is large and clean with a lot of natural light. They have a parking lot out back (sometimes its a bit difficult to get a spot). There are different sized tables and plenty of comfortable seating to accommodate individuals or groups of friends. It was a breeze to find a free charging port every time as well. The baristas here are friendly and awesome. I haven't had the chance to try any of the espresso beverages yet but I don't doubt that the coffee would be freshly brewed and fragrant. the bagged tea selection is great and they will serve it to you in a big mug or a to go cup. I've asked for a side of honey once and I kid you not, they gave me 5 servings worth (or more) of honey. It was welcomed and a total win for me because I was feeling a bit under the weather that day anyways. The veggie hummus sandwich was good and the pastries are great as well. read more

For a while it looked like yet another bank was going to open up on Northern, so when Bean & Bean appeared instead it was a very welcome surprise. Like other reviewers have said, they did an impressive job with the space--clean, modern, and because of the floor-to-ceiling windows, plenty of natural lighting. (They also have wifi and several power outlets, so it's a great working environment too.) When I go, I usually get either the Cold Brew or a latte, and the quality is very consistent. You can definitely tell they use high quality, organic coffee and espresso. As a result, the prices are a bit high compared to other coffee shops. Other than that, if I had any other criticism, it might be to have more variety in terms of coffee/tea beverages. They do, however, have an interesting rotation of pastries on display, so I'm looking forward to trying those in the future. Overall, Bean & Bean is a great addition to the area, and even though there are several other coffee shops and cafés along Northern, it still manages to stand out. read more

I'm so glad that bean and bean opened! Although it's a bit far for me to drive, they do have a parking lot and that free large cold brew when you check in is even better! It's a really wide open area with plenty of seats. There is more than enough outlets to go about near every seat. Even if there are a lot of people there, most go to study so it is fairly quiet. The ceilings are high and there are a lot of natural light coming through because they have pretty big windows. They have wifi which can be wonky and slow at times but it's not much of a problem. On top of a free cold brew when you check in, they also have great drinks. I've tried the iced latte and the iced green tea latte which were both good. They have a variety of baked goods for you to buy so you don't need to be hungry while doing your work. The staff are all friendly and nice. This is definitely going to be my go to for studying! read more

Hard to find a spacious cafe like this in Queens with ample parking so I have nothing but great things to say about this place! Thought I'd only stay here for a couple hours, but I ended up staying a lot longer because it's so conducive for studying. Aspects of this cafe that really help you study! + Great WiFi connection + Parking Lot (2 hour limit), but there's plenty of free street parking so you can stay as long as you want at no extra cost + Cafe has coffee AND sandwiches. A clean and modern environment and great for studying. This place is always packed with people with laptops. There are limited seats with back support and 2-hr parking limit. Baristas are not too knowledgable. Recommend getting coffee related drinks and not ordering off the menu. Once I visited Bean & Bean in the afternoon and wanted to get non-caffeinated iced tea, which they didn't have. I asked the barista if he could steep the tea from tea bag and pour it over ice (to make iced tea from tea bags). To my surprise, he made a hot tea and then added a couple ice. It was basically a tea bag floating in the lukewarm water. I threw out the water and asked the barista to pour some hot water as the tea bag didn't steep in the lukewarm water and a cup of ice to make it on my own, the barista said he will be charging extra. He said he was joking afterwards, but still to this day I'm confused of his sense of humor. read more

I've been a fan of Bean & Bean for a while now, even before this location opened up. I used to love the iced honey latte before I decided to start cutting down on coffee. Now I just get the matcha latte which is always good. This isn't a huge thing, but I really like how Bean & Bean has simple syrup and soy milk at their sugar/cream station. At most cafes, you have to ask the barista for those, but Bean & Bean makes it easy for you to adjust your drink to your liking. The interior is beautiful, bright and spacious. There are plenty of seats and outlets, making it a great place to do work - I alternate between Bean & Bean and the nearby Cafe 1 of a Kind (they have fewer seats/outlets but more food options). read more

Great space for studying. very nice atomsphere and good natural lighting from the floor to ceiling windows. HOWEVER, the espresso there and lattes really are NOTHING SPECIAL. I love espresso and iced lattes, but theirs is so terrible, i can barely finish half of it. They only have 1 size for iced lattes, so the 2 shots of espresso is way too diluted with the milk. Also, the baristas are mad anal retentive about parking. They have a 2 hour limit on parking and if you go over, they call the towing company. They go out of their way to review their survilleance video to find out your car to tow it. THAT IS JUST RIDICULOUS. Also, if you dont want to get an upset stomach, do NOT trust their sandwiches. The one time i got one of their sandwiches....let's just say, people had to wait a long time outside the bathroom... ---.--- Never trust sandwiches with deli meats sold at a coffee shop. An entirely different feel than the one that used to be in Bayside. It's bright, spacious, and it has a parking lot! I like this one better, but there's still a lot of room for improvement. For a space as large as this, I actually expected more. Except for the couches in the middle of the room, none of the chairs here have backs. And most of the tables here are the long types built for groups. Not an ideal place for the individual who just wants to duck away in a corner to get some work done. There are also no lights in the parking lot, so better be on your guard if you're alone at night. Anyway, I love the location, and I think this place has a lot of potential. One of Queens Borough's many cafes but Bean & Bean is one of my favorites/stands out in that its located along Northern with ease of access by public transportation or driving, has parking, and is spacious inside for plenty of seating. I tend to stick by my regular of Caramel Frappe which is a sweet way for me to mask shots of expresso. The atmosphere is calm and ambient enough that I can work/study by myself or with a group and not feel too pressured or cramped. read more

As a frequent visitor of the previous location, and now Bean Square, White Noise- I really want to love this place. Bean and Bean has so much potential. I continue to return but I get let down every now and then. This is merely because of the unpleasant staff. They are very passive and very "uptight" about every little thing. I can't even get a cup of water without being charged. What kind of service is that?? Had some closed food in a bag and they had the nerve to come all the way to my table and told me to get rid of it and that it can't be in there even though it was in a bag.. never took it out. I almost really wanted to laugh and ask for a manager. That was the most insane thing that has ever happened to me in a coffee shop. Relax guys. It's a shame that a new place with such a large interior with so many plugs and a parking lot is ruined by staff. I will pop in every now and then going forward to see if there are any improvements. Absolutely loved this coffee shop! First off I was super impressed by the size of it. Tons of tables, seats and comfy chairs. There is a section designated to be 'laptop free' which gives the chatters some space from the customers working on their computers. I thought the prices were reasonable (~$11 for 2 medium sized espresso drinks). Tons of outlets too as well as natural light. Also liked that it had soothing music being played... I personally am not a fan of coffee shops that are blasting pop music. I did not order food while visiting but they had a decent sized menu offering soups, sandwiches, etc. Also there is parking in the back--huge perk since it's Queens! read more

I very much want to like this place but they charge 3.00 less for beans online than they do in stores, and I felt misled as there are no prices listed for beans in store. Edit: Wow, they contacted me using the phone number I previously used to order in to ask me to take down this review arguing that they tasted/tested the batch of avocado mix that they used and that it hasn't gone bad, therefore the review is faulty. Well okay, first off, making avocado toast from a batch mix of avocado already seems not great and also sounds prone of spoilage. Also I never gave them permission to contact me about my yelp review through my personal number. But those are beside the point. If they had just said something like, we're sorry this happened to you and we tried our best to find spoilage but couldn't find any, so could you maybe just count this as a one-off and take down your review, I actually would not have minded doing so. Instead, they weren't apologetic at all and kept pushing their side basically telling me that I was wrong and that I must've tasted the lime. I literally just drank some lime juice just now to compare and I'm pretty sure it wasn't just lime juice. But you know at this point, that doesn't even matter. Don't think I'll be back here purely for the customer service I just had to pleasure of receiving. They even claimed I might have been tasting lime juice over the phone and that the rest of the avocados look/taste fine. I'm not sure why rest of the avocados not having rotten yet somehow acts as proof that the one in my toast could not be rotten. Also spoiled food tastes VERY different from just some acidic juices like lime. Both me and my brother thought our respective foods were spoiled at different times of the meal and the only commonality between the two food were the avocados. I mean, is this some sort of scam that happens so frequently that they need to put up high barrier for a resolution? Look, I didn't want a refund, alright? What I wanted was bean & bean avocado toast and sandwich for lunch. Why in the world would I make these sort of claims falsely?? Cus I want to save 20 bucks? Bruh, I'm paying $10 for a single avocado toast and getting $5+ coffees. You really think I'd try and scam you out of $20?? Sigh... Maybe next time don't let your ingredients sit around long enough to start fermenting themselves and neither of us will have to deal with this nonsense. came in this morning to order a few hours after they opened, however there was no menu. The screens were off, and the person at the front said there's no menu and continued what they were doing. I needed to look up the menu on my phone. After my order came out, I had gotten an iced mocha latte instead of iced matcha latte. When I asked for the right drink, the barista looked irritated that they had to make it again. The bagel was fine, however I felt the amount of cream cheese given was chintzy - I'm sure if the barista had applied the cream cheese, they'd even have a hard time covering a full side of the bagel. Bean and bean is a new cafe in the area, right on the corner of northern blvd and little neck parkway, the Q12 bus stop is right outside. They have another location up in bayside but its been renamed as bean squared. Anyways, this location is where the old Scobee's diner used to be decades ago, I've heard a Citibank was planned to open in that location but I guess it didn't work out. There's a huge parking lot in the back (at night it's full of landscaping trucks). This location is huge and a lot of space. Clean and bright, it would make a great place to study. However, I'm not a huge fan of the seating though, since the seats consists of benches, a few couches, and high stools (all of which doesn't offer back support which is a factor I determine when I find study spots). So far I have tried 3 drinks: chai frappe (one size available, small $6), iced matcha latte (only offers medium $5.50), and iced cafe mocha (only offers medium $5.50). Despite the frappe sold as a small it was still larger in size than the medium sized iced lattes. Total for those 3 drinks was $19.05 (included tax). The Chai Frappe was very sweet, I guess I should've told the batista to tone it down, it tasted like there were at least 4 pumps of syrup in it. The iced matcha latte on the other hand was bland and a bit watered down (not watered down by milk but literal water), the matcha powder wasn't mixed thoroughly and ended up as clumps/lumps at the bottom. The iced cafe mocha came out just right (Goldilocks and the three bears moment?), they offer 2 types of syrups dark chocolate and white chocolate, I chose dark. The pricing is a bit steep in my opinion. Overall I like that this place opens til 10pm, though there was one day I visited around 9:30 pm and it was closed. If you want to sit with friends I suggest the benches or the stool seats, the couches are much to spacious to have a conversation---you'll need to raise your voice higher to reach them. read more

Not impressed... I ordered a hot chocolate with soy and I expected beautiful art that I could take a picture of. Instead, the girl behind the counter just dumps the milk into the cup and hands it over saying that she can't do art. For a place that hires experienced baristas, you would expect the baristas to know how to do simple latte art. Flavor wise, again, not impressed. The milk tasted burned and the hot chocolate was overly sweet. I think I'll stick to Starbucks or even Cafe 1 of a Kind down the street. read more

Ordered small iced coffee. Their smallest size is medium and no regular iced coffee. So I got medium cold brew. Cost me a little more than $4.00 Taste? Not worth it. Starbucks cold brew is better. Coffeed cold brew is far better, and they are cheaper. Interior is so so, the staff....looks very unpleasant..for me. They never say a word except when you pay. Even though people say thank you when pick up their coffee, they don't say a word to them! What an attitude. Music stops while I am staying there, but it seems like no one care. I've been a loyal customer for almost two years now, going there at least once or twice a week. The coffee and food are fine, but some of the staff ruined the shop for me. A year ago, on a day with heavy snowfall, I called to ask if the coffeeshop was still open. The woman who answered very rudely replied that they were open everyday. Being open everyday does not necessarily include snow days. Saying "yes, we are still open" without the attitude would have sufficed. But I figured it was just one person on staff and overlooked it. Then recently, I ordered a pastry. I sat down to wait as the baristas were warming it up for me. I noticed it took longer than usual, but I waited and worked for at least 20 minutes to give them the benefit of the doubt. It hit around 30 minutes so I went to go check on it. The barista told me it was still heating up. I replied "for at least 20 minutes"? They said nothing, and finally brought out my order with no apology, along with an order that I saw was placed by another customer a few minutes before I had gone up to the counter. I know they won't suffer by losing me as a customer, but it has turned me off to going there again. read more

The Almond Milk Chai Latte is amazing and delicious. I recommend the raspberry vegan square for a delicious snack.

They did a nice job on the place itself and the fact that they open at 630am is convenient. However for an organic place their non dairy options are not good. They have horrible ingredients. With the price of coffee there they should be able to splurge for more expensive options. A large iced coffee at bean and bean is $4.95. At Bean Square it's $3.65. That's just absurd to be charging that much more for the same size coffee. I think they should lower their price and get better non dairy options. Lower your prices. Get better quality non dairy mills and increase cup size. read more
