I love coming to rivers cafe is it the best coffee in town and it's family owned the moment you can feel that warmth.The owner is such a sweetheart and always makes you feel welcome every time you come in. Everything about it feels personal, not rushed or corporate at all.I usually get their iced caramel macchiato with coconut and it never misses. The coffee is delicious I have no complaints 10/10 every time I visit. You can tell they really care about what they're making.They use organic blends which makes it feel even better knowing what you're drinking. The shop itself is beautiful, always clean, and it smells amazing.They also serve breakfast and the pastries are delicious perfect if you want something light to pair with your coffee or just a quick bite in the morning.It's the kind of place you end up going back to. read more

On my way to my neice's school fundraising car wash this past Saturday I stopped in to grab a coffee. Didn't really have any expectations however the young lady made me an exceptional cappuccino with oat milk and a pump of caramel. I couldn't stop raving to my daughter how good it was! The minute I got a whiff of it I knew it was going to be yummy. Cute little spot with street parking. It's a bit small on the inside but cozy nonetheless. read more

Rivers Cafe is a gem in the neighborhood and I'm glad that Abby has a great coffee shop in New Hyde Park. I will say it is a bit pricier than expected for the area (Manhattan prices in NHP) but it is good quality stuff. However, I would spend a couple more dollars on this place vs. Dunkin' a couple blocks away. All in all, love this place's coffee :). read more

Service was great. When I entered I was treated by friendly faces behind the counter. It was my first time visiting Rivers and the staff was pleasant and took time to explain the menu. I ordered the vanilla latte with almond milk and it was delicious. So not only are you getting excellent coffee but excellent service. read more

Needing a caffeine fix, I stopped in at Rivers for some coffee. They have a pretty vast menu for a little spot, and I loved the homey feeling of the cafe. There was so much to peruse while I was waiting for my drinks. Having opened 7 months ago, RC has been doing pretty well despite the pandemic (said the barista). There are lots of sweet snack options, too, like cookies or homemade Oreo pie. I snagged a vanilla cookie, which hit the spot, especially when I dipped it in my coffee. Major bonus points for not charging for different coffee types. That's a rarity! The small size is indeed small, but that was ok for this given occasion. My matcha latte and dirty chai were tasty and made skillfully. If I was in the area more regularly, I'd love for this cafe to be my local spot! read more

Finally got to check this place out today!!! Outside and inside is such a cute setup with everything nicely on display and the door was wide open making us feel very welcomed into this cozy cafe. Very vast menu for such a small place with multiple flavors to add and plenty of dairy/nondairy options too! My son tried their strawberry lemonade and the pear juice as well. I had an iced caramel latte with skim milk which was fantastic 10/10! We took home two of their freshly made and packaged dessert treats which he's already been trying to devour all day. Main thing I noticed is the pricing here, extremely inexpensive for such great coffee!! I usually spend the same at my local Starbucks for half the items. Can't wait to try something new next time. Definitely recommend giving this local business a try one morning! OH and very family friendly, totally good to bring your little ones to! read more

The iced caramel macchiato blew me away!!!! It was beyond delicious; I was actually daydreaming about how yummy it was the next day. Easily addictive. The empanadas were also delicious and the café itself is adorable. I would highly, highly recommend. read more

I've been ordering from this coffee shop for a while now, and they never disappoint. The cold brew is consistently excellent, and recently I tried one of their empanadas, now I can't leave without grabbing a few to go along with my coffee! Every experience here has been great. The staff is super attentive, always updating me if something's sold out or if there's any issue with my order. Hands down, this is my favorite coffee spot in the area. read more

Second time here . I usually order a hot chai latte . But today i was very disappointed by the lady charging me for a medium drink , when she very well gave me a small drink (i ordered a medium drink) Also, unfortunately the hot chai latte does not taste right . Stumbled upon this cafe but really nice little mom and pop shop making delicious treats with excellent coffee! I had the chance to try the bread pudding and the tres leches. OMG! This place definitely was beyond a satisfaction! It's a family company! The owner gets her coffee beans from her fathers farm, overseas , and the house blend is just so perfect , not bitter and not too sweet and incredibly smooth! My partner had a black, hot , americano & I had a iced white chocolate latte. Both were palate pleasing. I was even told that the owner helps out the community by having locals make some of the pastries and food that's sold there. Great vibes , amazing service and even better coffee. read more

So excited to share this sweet coffee spot I recently discovered! I'll be the first to admit that I'm a coffee snob (and proud)! For me, Dunkin Donuts tastes like dirty water and Starbucks is way too acidic (and overpriced). I saw this coffee place had great reviews & I thought I'd see what the hype was about. I went in & ordered a small coffee with half & half. The owner was there & explained the different types of coffee & explained the flavors. They had a few sweets, but nothing that really caught my eye. The coffee itself had a distinct roasted flavor, not acidic, and so delicious! It was Heaven! I could tell that they use good quality beans. The prices are great- 1.50 for a small- exactly what I needed. I bought a bag of ground coffee to go as well (10.99/bag). I will definitely go back & highly recommend. If you're looking for coffee that's gonna hit the spot, this is that place! read more

This is such a fantastic addition to Floral Park! After hearing about this place we had to check it out. We got an Americano, a matcha latte with oat milk, Carmel cookies and some coffee to take home. Everything was so delicious. I especially loved the tea latte because it wasn't sweet and the flavors had some depth. The cookies went perfectly with the latte. Rivers Cafe is literally the best coffee shop, ever! Abby and her staff go out of their way to make you feel like part of the family. Abby is an excellent barista, all of the drinks are delicious, and she truly cares about her customers. The ability to call or text in orders has been livesaving when I have a sleeping baby in the car - they'll even bring your drinks out to you! This has been the coffee shop I needed in my life! My kids also love going here for their delicious juices and hot chocolate, and the quesadilla pound cake, plus a wonderful visit with their new friend, Abby! What amazing addition to our neighborhood, please go and support them!!! PS: Try the chai latte!!! read more

Arguably the best coffee I've ever had in a cafe in America......1000/10! Having ventured in other cafes as well as being a daily Starbucks customer, I think I may have to break-up with them now I've found my new love haha. Seriously though, the owner is super hospitable and takes a lot of pride in her business, you can taste it in the coffee. I think they personally grow and procure their own coffee and teas which is the first place I ever heard of doing so. The prices are so inexpensive for the quality you're receiving. We ordered a iced machiatto and iced chai (with espresso) as well as a slice of the tres leches cake (which was the best I've had, absolutely divine!). The location is a grab-n-go without seating and space-wise it's smaller than average but a pleasure to visit nonetheless. They have a rewards card too. Can't wait for my next visit, and count me a regular here :D highly highly recommended ^^ ~ read more

My husband and I have been waiting to try Rivers Cafe for quite some time. We finally had an opportunity today and we can't rave enough about their coffee and tres leches cake! You can taste the love and professional craft in a simple cup of coffee. My husband ordered a vanilla latte and I had an iced caramel latte with oat milk. Both were delicious! I was in the neighborhood for my sons game and wanted to grab some Coffee. I found this little place off of Jericho. I was greeted and when i told the girl at the counter it was my first time she proceeded to tell me the story of the owner and coffee. I was intrigued. Omg! One of the best coffees I've ever had. I recently moved to the area and wanted to try new spots and this one is definitely going to be one of my regular spots. The woman who made my coffee, I think it was the owner, was sooo sweet and had great customer service skills! She even gave me a quarter to put in the meter so I wouldn't get a ticket. The owner, Abbi, has been my barista most times I have come in, and her level of customer service and energy make this place great. The coffee itself was also great, I drank it black and it was strong without being as acidic or bitter as the coffee at most chain coffee shops. Their chai latte was made perfectly too. In an area void of independent coffee shops, the opening of River Cafe is a breath of fresh air. I ordered off menu. A flat white, no sugar, no syrup. And it was solid. Which, in sum, leaves me at three stars. Two or below if you're drinking in, but maybe four if you're grabbing to go.

The young lady that help me, Ms. Carina gave me the abridged version of the menu. I ordered a ham and cheddar cheese croissant, a sesame seed bagel w/ cream cheese and a 16 oz vanilla flavored coffee. While the food was being prepared I learned that Vida Coffee Shop is family owned and operated, 1 coffee shop, 1 year in business, and a Long Island Choice Award. Congratulations!! I've had ham and cheese croissants with Swiss cheese before but this was way different. The ham and cheese croissant had cheddar cheese, very delicious with a hint of cheddar, not drowning the ham flavor and flattened by a Panini press. The bagel was very fresh, and the coffee was nicely tempered. No scorching of the tongue! One piece of advice: with this extreme cold, dine in. I went with one of my friends. We both had the mochas and I had a shot of espresso because the book recommended it. The espresso was good, not overly bitter, pretty much just right. The mocha was amazing a good ratio of chocolate, coffee and espresso. It was pretty busy here and the atmosphere was nice. The snacks looked really good maybe one day I'll go back for a pastry. The elitist attitude continued throughout the transaction; she couldn't be bothered to tell me which beans she was using, and once the coffee was finished, she didn't even acknowledge me or announce that the drink was ready. It's a shame when a shop's "gatekeeping" attitude ruins the experience. There is no excuse for treating customers with that much contempt. I won't be returning to a place that makes me feel like an inconvenience for ordering a coffee.
