Always amazing, an AA County staple. Used to come here all the time in high school and I am sad that I no longer live here full time to enjoy their iced dirty chai. There were so many cute cafes we went to while we were visiting west. We said it is so sad there's no cute cafe near us. Boy were we wrong! Because of the cafes we visited, we want something not Starbucks. And we found this cute cafe! Cozy atmosphere. They have high tables, low tables and 2 comfortable armchairs. Glad this cafe isn't in the West and their drinks and breakfast sandwich were really delicious. It does look like it's a family owned business cafe. And that's the best thing about it. I got their iced almond milk matcha (also available hot) and I said mmmmm heavenly when I took sip of it. I also got their egg whites with tomato, onion and spinach on everything bagel. So. Good. The hubs got Funky Monkey (also available iced). And he said he would order it again (he was looking for PB mocha, and they didn't have it but was happy with his drink!). He also got egg, cheese and sausage breakfast sandwich on everything bagel. We will be coming to this place again. Just glad it doesn't require us to purchase an airfare ticket for it! read more

Had a really fantastic lunch here! Turkey and cheddar custom sandwich on white bread with their chipotle mayo. They toast the bread and we all know toasted bread makes everything better! Very tasty sando with fresh ingredients, including shaved carrots, which really set it off. I also had a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup which was delicious as well. Perfect mixture of veggies and chicken with just the right consistency of broth. The coffee smelled amazing and I'll be returning to try it. Can't wait! read more

This place is just too cute...they have a wall of loose leaf teas, homemade pastries and sandwiches, and delicious signature lattes and mochas! They have music playing softly in the background which creates a serene atmosphere, the furniture is comfortable and plentiful, and the bathrooms are so very clean. The staff is always helpful and patient which is important since they have so many delicious edibles to choose from...I mean yum! This is a cafe which is out of the beaten path but I found myself in the area so I gave it a shot. It is a small shop with minimal seating but they do serve food. I was only interested in coffee so I had my usual latte. Judging from the general appearance I wasn't expecting too much in terms of quality but it actually was better than I thought. Although the barista seemed rushed, the drink was good. The milk was slightly too hot and slightly too foamy, however he was able to still draw some foamy latte art. The flavor of the drink was relatively smooth and quite enjoyable. This is where I wish Yelp had the ability to rate 1/2 stars. I would definitely say this was at least a 3.5 start and honing in on 4. However, since it forces be to either 3 or 4, it doesn't quite reach the quality that I normally give for 4 stars. So, it is definitely a place I would recommend if you are in the area, but I wouldn't say it is worth going out of your way to visit if it is not in your nearby area. read more

Cute little coffee shop a bit out of the way on General's Highway. It's JUST close enough I can stop in on my way to work and feel ​like I'll still be on time. They have a nice selection of grab and go snacks as well as breakfast sandwiches soups and salads. I was excited to learn that they have gluten free "buns" so you can get a sandwich made on that which has come in handy. Relaxing cafe. Nice staff! I love how they have skinny bagels as an option, because I love a good bagel but not the after affect. I got the lox on a skinny everything bagel and it was really good. We came for the first time today, and we will lik be returning. I got the funky monkey iced latte (banana and chocolate), but I got mine with white chocolate instead of chocolate. We also got a strawberry banana smoothie that was really good. We ordered bagels, which were okay; I am not sure if I would order one again. My everything bagel was so burnt that it was hard to bite into. The other bagels in the order seemed to be okay. Update: we tried it a second time. I got an iced coffee. I was disappointed that you have to put the milk and sweetener in the coffee yourself. I will likely not be returning because this seemed odd and inconvenient. If I do return, I will not be getting iced coffee. read more

Woke up this morning in the mood for some non-chain iced coffee. Something with unique flavor offerings, that had a quaint and cozy feel and I came upon Bean Rush! The lovely lady who took my order was extremely friendly and patient with my indecisiveness in choosing one of their MANY delicious sounding flavors. I ended up going with the HoneyBee iced latte and it is absolutely delicious. My boyfriend went with the MilkyWay latte, and he also loves that. We will definitely be back. read more

I love coming to get coffee here often however when I went yesterday I decided to get my little ones and my self sandwiches. I spent $7.95 on a chicken panini with four skinny small pieces of chicken and barely anything on it which made it dry. My boys got ham and cheese sandwiches. It was literally one slice of thin sliced ham and cheese for $3.... I was really upset to see that I spent that kind of money on such crappy sandwiches. My quest for the perfect cup of coffee and breakfast continues!! This time I thought i would try something that was off the beaten path but still had really great reviews.. I was also wanting to try a place that did coffee art so after i saw the pictures posted here I knew I had to go! Upon arrival the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and if you have read any of my other reviews you know how important knowledgeable staff members are in my book.. The drink menu was extensive but i think we may have went on a bad day because there wasnt much to choose from in the display and they were down to only a few types of bagels. Once we ordered the coffee and bagels were brought to our table and were both very tasty.. The only reason I cant give this place 5 stars is because the drinks werent as fancy as i expected.. everyone around us were given over sized coffee mugs and it made the experience seem cozy, even though i specified my order was to stay I was still given a to go cup.. normally i wouldnt complain but the exchange seemed really weird with the cashier.. maybe next time i will have to specify that i would like my drink in a mug.. seems like an odd specification to have to make... read more

This place is absolutely adorable. I was randomly in the neighborhood and came across this little hole in the wall with fantastic reviews... I was not disappointed! I got the honeybee latte (I recommend getting your lattes "for here" and not to go!!) and got this gorgeous, creamy delicious latte that was slightly sweet but not overpoweringly so, as Starbucks drinks often are. The baristas were friendly and helpful, the atmosphere quiet and decor all wood furniture against an exposed brick wall. I love it. I'm so disappointed this is so far from my home, because otherwise I would be here every single day. Loved this little place! The people were friendly and courteous, the service was great. The coffee was hot and they did a decent attempt at latte art. It's definitely on the pricier side, but has a nice atmosphere. There are bar stools and tables to sit at, as well as a couple comfy chairs in the corner. The place has a nice atmosphere and was very enjoyable to sit down and have a nice conversation, catch up on life. I would say it seats maybe 15 total so not the best place for a group gathering, maybe something a little more low-key. The parking is limited as it is a small strip mall. The wifi is good, and someone was using their laptop there so it's a great place to have a cup of joe and get some work done. I personally think it would be lovely to come back and do some studying. The coffee was about $4.50 for a regular and I ordered the Almond Joy. It wasn't too flavored- the coffee taste was strong, but rich and enjoyable. They had some food there- some croissants and baked goods, like muffins and such. The chocolate croissant is yummy and they even warmed it up for me. The biscottis are delicious as well, and perfect with the coffee! Overall I had a wonderful experience there and would definitely recommend again. read more

A welcome addition to Crownsville! This new coffee and sandwich shop completely exceeded our expectations. It is owned by a young couple who have given our small community its first fun and funky venue to eat, drink and socialize. Their menu is extensive (check it out on their website), and my husband and I enjoyed sampling some of their specialty coffee drinks--Funky Monkey and Milky Way. Wow! The breakfast sandwiches were great also, and we can't wait to come back and try their lunch offerings. Selfishly, I almost didn't want to review this place because it is a gem in an otherwise cafe-deprived community, and I wanted to keep it secret. However, there will be no stopping the popularity of this place. They haven't been open a week yet, and there was already a steady flow of customers, including multiple repeat customers. I just had the jerk chicken soup and a cookie butter tart, and despite an awful cold completely dulling my senses, the deliciousness of everything pummeled through. For a smaller cafe, they have many lovely, compelling offerings beyond the usual stuff you see at coffee shops. The selection feels intentional. The place is small yet comfortable, and the staff are genuinely friendly. This place made me unreasonably excited for being a small coffee shop--probably because I'm new to the area and I really appreciated finding a local spot where the quality of the food is high and there's so much attention to detail with the presentation. Happened upon this place when the wifi died at another coffee shop nearby. We had a few hours of work ahead of us, did a quick search for good internet connection, and off to Bean Rush Cafe we went! Very quick wifi here. When we arrived, it was quiet and surprisingly not busy for a Sunday afternoon. Looking around for a good place to sit (with outlet access) the friendly cashier informed us that all of the tables had an outlet within reach- score! We parked it, grabbed some grub, and got to work. I had a tuna salad sandwich and some iced green tea, both pretty standard fare and freshly made. The overall vibe of the place was trendy yet quiet, and I really want to stop back one day to try some of the fabulous looking biscotti they had. We stayed until they closed at four, and to the credit of the employees- nobody rushed us out or made comments that we were still there. Subtle "we're cleaning up for the day" activities made us realize we had reached that time, and the staff was super nice and didn't rush us at all when we asked if they were ready to close. read more

Cute small café. Strong wifi and very friendly baristas. My cappuccino was average but I was surprised to see how big the regular was. Had 2 shots of espresso. The egg salad sandwich tasted like an... egg salad sandwich. There wasn't too much mayo which I like and the wheat bread it came with was pretty good. The place was pretty cold inside though so bring a jacket if you plan on staying awhile. If you like teas, they have different kinds that you can smell against the back wall. They have long tables that are nice to work on and there are plugs at every table. Awesome. Would come again and perhaps try some of those teas. read more

We were shooting our spot next door and we walked over here several times throughout the day to get coffee, tea and something to eat. The customer service is excellent and the drinks are very flavorful and priced decently. If I lived in the area, I would probably frequent this place because it had such a good vibe to it. Get excited! Bean Rush Cafe is quite the find, especially in a town where Starbucks is the local go-to for the average $5 latte connoisseur. If you're in the Crownsville area, Bean Rush is not a place to pass up, especially if you're in need of that early bird gets the worm "pick me up," or if you're that late afternoon, "chill and get on that free wifi" kind of guy/gal. I love, love, love, the flavor of the chai latte here! My first visit impressed me so much, I'm almost ready to shelve my Baltimore Coffee & Tea frequent customer card...ok, maybe not. I will say that IF I was pressed for time, I won't hesitate not to drive the 15 mins to Annapolis. I'll just have an equally delicious cuppa anything I want here at the Crownsville Bean Rush. And to rave some more - I'm super impressed with the quality of "coffee shop food" they serve. I had a hazelnut zebra biscotti and a mozzarella & sundried tomato panini with my XL chai latte yesterday - just plain delicious and all for $14, I'll take it! This place isn't really close to where we live, but since our dog's vet is down the street, we do come here every once in awhile, back when it first open years ago. What we often do when we travel is to drop our dog off at the vet for boarding, drive up to get some coffee before heading to BWI. First of all, i need to say that their menu is extensive! and everything look so good. and it's always a dilemma of what to get because I want everything. I usually go for Honey Bee latte, and have tried Almond Joy and Milky Way over the years... The latte never disappoints. Hubby is a coffee snob and usually go for brew of the day and I never heard him complain. Actually, it was his idea to visit here at our very very first time. He usually gets a bagel to go with his coffee. Staff has always been friendly since day one. They are always so patient when I'm in my "i want everything, what should i really get?" dilemma!! Bean Rush Cafe, can you move to Philadelphia? I would love to come here more often. For this review, I was teetering between 4 and 5 stars but decided to go with 5 because: (1) Both items I ordered were excellent, and (2) I don't have a desire to try another place for breakfast next time I'm in the area because this is where I'll be going. As someone who loves to try new places I think that says a lot. I'd rather try additional menu offerings here before venturing elsewhere! Let's start off with the service. Everyone from the cashier to the barista to the woman preparing my food was friendly and had a smile on their faces. I walked in in gym clothes and a messy ponytail so I appreciated them not giving me a weird look for what I'm sure was crazy hair by that point. :) Now to the food and drink. Here's what I ordered: -Bagel with lox: Strongly recommend! I got this on an Everything bagel thanks to other reviews here, and it really hit the spot. I ordered it exactly as written on the menu. The bagel itself was soft and fresh with good chew. The sandwich contained the perfect amount of capers to add a briney bite but not overpower the rest of the ingredients. There was a nice amount of smoked salmon which had good flavor and color (not pale and sad looking as I sometimes run into). If anything, I might order this with slightly less cream cheese next time, but that's only because I'm weird and like only the slightest schmear. -Honey Bee Latte: Also strongly recommend! I'm usually a tea drinker myself, but all of the fun-sounding lattes were alluring. I decided to try the Honey Bee based on the ingredients and reviews here, although the fact that it contained two different syrups (honey and toffee) did worry me. I shouldn't have worried, however, because it was perfect! So many times I get a flavored latte at other coffee shops and end up wishing I had gotten something else. They start out with burnt or overly bitter coffee and then the cafe tries to balance that out by adding too much syrup. What you end up with is with an unpleasant beverage that's kind of like a punch in the face: too much bitterness and somehow way too much sugar at the same time. At Bean Rush, I found a latte that's quite the opposite. The Honey Bees is balanced and smooth, not too sweet despite the two sources of sugar. The added flavors were subtle but still noticeably different than an unflavored latte. I wish I had one now! I think where Bean Rush really shines is in the execution. A latte and a bagel with lox are not revolutionary cafe offerings, but I'd certainly rather have them here than most other places. Can't wait to come back and try some of the delicious-looking pastries! read more

Living in Arden, there are not a lot of super close food/drink options, but one of the places we do have is Bean Rush! We love having this little local coffee shop close to home. When my Mom visits from out of state I love taking her here for a coffee or iced tea, and their baked goods and bagels. I personally love their breakfast sandwiches! If you're in the area I would say swing on by, they serve quality drinks made to order and are more than happy to customize them for you. Me and my husband have gone here anywhere between once to three times per week for our morning cup of joe. Sometimes even a breakfast sandwich or one of there muffins from the bakery cabinet. Off the beat path is the definition of Bean Rush Cafe. I met up with a friend before a trip to Cali. There's definitely a very chill and relaxed vibe at I really liked the energy at Bean Rush. They have a bunch of different drinks that can warm the soul. They offer breakfast sandwiches and I got one of the veggie breakfast sandwiches on a everything bagel. It was bigger than I expected and all the toppings were fresh. I had a green tea, don't judge, which they let you brew to your preferred strength. The customer service was top notch and friendly. Bean Rush is definitely a place you can relax and hang out, contrary to the name you don't have to actually be in a rush. It if you happen to be off the beaten path in Crownsville I'd recommend stopping by for a coffee, a sandwich and a chil vibe. read more
