Well, I certainly wouldn't call this place high end. My side of mayo was a packet of hellmans and our sandwiches didn't really have much flavor. But it was a nice clean place to stop on our way through. The service was ok but our waitress didn't even tell us about the 5 specials, one of which we surely would have had. For just sandwiches, I think subway could match up but maybe their steak and other specials are a bit nicer. Traveling interstate 90 from Albert Lee to Worthington. Looking for a place to eat, so I checked on yelp. The Bean Town Grill in Fairmont had good reviews, so we decided eat there. Stopped here for a quick meal after a long drive during a road trip. This restaurant had a diner type feel with the menu reflecting as such. Food came out quick and was piping hot, tasty, and as ordered. Would recommend if stopping in this town. read more

So glad we stopped. Great menu...great food. Cozy atmosphere...outdoor patio looked nice but it was raining when we were there. We enjoyed the soup and sandwich, soup and salad special. Very good. Had late lunch here on way to Sioux Falls. Food tasty and our server Morgan was fantastic.

Went on opening night poor service poor drinks poor cold food.we where also asked to leave because they needed the table.To me you do not tell a table of six that just got done eating and are still drinking to leave.we gave them another chance two months later still sub par barely warm food and watered down drinks service was better but will not go again.Table next to us also complained about food and also watered down drinks and flat pop.Dont waste your time. read more

Bean Town is my favorite restaurant in the area. I love the variety of foods, well prepared, as well as the sit down meal experience.

Great lunch spot off 90, sit down relax, freindly attentive service. Good lunch specials. Same price as drive thrus, much better food. My sirloin steak, a little tough, needed to run through tenderizer. Cooked perfectly. Side salad was ok, home made dressing good. Yes I will stop again for lunch. Food and service was good, but great for the area. South central MN is not the food capital of the world. Prices super reasonable- a black and blue rib-eye with salad, potato and veggie, less than $25! They don't take American Express which is a bummer for us business travelers who are issued one by our company. read more

Lunch here today. Reuben sandwich with chips. No kraut and thousand island on the side. I know, I know, it's a grilled corn beef sandwich. Sandwich was excellent, chips were good. I don't think they make the chips in house but they're good. $13 including tip. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a place in this small town. The service was prompt and very friendly. The Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon was delicious! One of the best I have had. The spice rub had a nice citrus flavor, was not too salty and the cedar flavor was evident. If I come back through town again, this is a must stop. read more

Just got done eating here...again. I have eaten here 6 or 7 times. Once the service has been good, the rest was horrible. Beth is a HORRIBLE server! It is very evident she doesn't care about her customers. It is almost as if a customer is an inconvience to her. I can tell a lot about a restaurant who doesn't care about kids food. Hamburgers were Way beyond well done and the steak meal my daughter order could have been turned into a leather belt. GROSS! When I mentioned this to the waitress, she didn't seem to care. Last time I was there I had to ask management to take a payment and he seemed upset I interupted him. Overall, don't plan on going back. If I wanted to be treated bad and have bad service, I would eat across the road at McDonald's. Don't waste your time! read more

Was hoping for much more. Started with a beer which came from dirty stale beer lines, but I was here for food with the family. I had some mushy wet pork on a bun with a too simple iceberg salad, I guess some restaurants ,other than fast food joints still serve bland iceberg. My wife had a shrimp dish which was overcooked, tough and bland. I wanted another drink, maybe a bottle of beer to avoid the dirty tap-lines but never saw my waitress again until we begged for a bill. read more

Had dinner at Beantown Grill in Fairmont, MN tonight. Not going back. Ordered a mojito. I don't think there was a drop of rum in there, tasted like soda water with a slice of lime. I basically paid $4.75 for a glass of water. Had a hamburger, which was very good but was disappointed to find that you had to add on a side. Really, you can't throw a few fries on the plate? So I added a cup of the supposedly famous bean soup. Very bad. I counted three beans, and the "ham" was tiny pieces of fat and pork rind. Martin County should be ashamed to have that soup represent it's history of bean growers. read more

One of my favorite places to go when visiting family. Always good food at a reasonable price; with friendly, fun staff. My personal favorite is the cedar-planked salmon and their seafood is higher quality than you'd expect in a little city on the plains. They usually have some interesting craft brews on tap as well. read more
