Review Visit: August 14th, 2017 All I have to say is... half-pound cookies. No, I do have a bit more to say than that. I've been to Burlington a handful of times and since my last visit, this cozy of a place must've opened for business... and what a treat for Burlington it is. First off, they have half-pound cookies that are delicious. In the featured image, you can see a snickerdoodle cookie and it is as delicious as it looks. I ordered a iced caramel latte to go with it and together, it was a perfect combination. They had quite a few different flavors to choose from and the chocolate chip was a close second. As typical with more coffeehouses/cafes, they have a small food menu with some delicious-sounding eats. What the Beanhouse brings to the table is they also serve alcohol. Nothing hard or crazy but if you want an afternoon beer with some half-pound cookies, then this is the place for you. For the Beancounter being fairly new, the interior tied together great and it was bright and welcoming. The lady working the counter was also really friendly and chatted us up a bit as we did the awkward 'first time here so we are looking around' thing. Nice cozy coffee shop with good food. Service was very friendly and there was both soft seating and tables available to dine in.

It was so fun bringing my 6 month old daughter here and letting her taste some stuff. The food options are incredibly flavorful, unique, and healthy (some of them anyway lol). The coffee of course is quite good too and they have LOTS of options. The atmosphere is very cool too. Kinda feels like you're at your wealthy friend's house. Visited Burlington twice in the last month and went to Beancounter twice. The Chicken bacon ranch wrap is sooo good. I also like the funky cool decor, the friendly staff, the music playing, and the building in general. Spacious with good vibes. Definitely making this a stopping point anytime I'm in Burlington. We ordered a kicked up grilled cheese and with no vegetables or meat. Just the cheese and we came back home and there was bacon and the side was chips and they didn't even give me a lot and it wasn't full. We went back to tell them about the food and they made it but it was a smaller sandwich with just American cheese and not all four cheeses and it was a waste of the money for something we could make at home. The Beancounter was recommended to me by a co-worker, as I was staying in Burlington for a business trip. It was an absolute godsend. I am a vegan and finding a quick vegan-friendly lunch option downtown was quite a challenge. My go to order for the week became a everything bagel sandwich, a vegan protein bar (sourced from a local farm supplier), and an organic lemon ginger hot tea. I never had to wait long for my order and everyone who worked there was very kind. The food was nothing fancy, but it was good, and a relatively healthy option (sides included salad or fruit, in addition to some other choices). I never had a chance to sit down and enjoy the place, but it is quite large inside, with lots of different places to sit. It reminds me of some of my favorite coffee houses from when I was in college: a great place to sit, study, maybe meet some new friends, and people watch. I would highly recommend the Beancounter to those looking for a nice coffee break/lunch break. read more

I am so happy I found this place. I was in Burlington for three days and I ate lunch at Beancounter all three days. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff was very welcoming and professional. The location was clean. I enjoyed eating outside in the area they have out front. The decorum of the coffeehouse is dog friendly and artistic. I do not drink coffee so I cannot comment on how good their coffee is. However, I had an herbal tea, and it was delicious. If I am back in Burlington I am heading to Beancounter. read more

Went in to get a cup of coffee. It was nothing special you can tell that they used tap water for their coffee by the film on top of the coffee.$4.65 for a 16 oz cup of coffee. We'll never go back there again that was way totally ridiculous!! read more

Really enjoyed this cute spot for lunch. Sat outside and had great service and great quality food. I had the veggie sandwich on a croissant and 2 desserts. I couldn't decide. They have smoothies, pour over coffee, frappes, healthy lunch options, and an in-house pastry chef that makes a variety of treats. Try the cookie dough brownie! I also had a coconut latte made with almond milk. I love that they have a non-dairy option. Definitely a relaxing experience in downtown Burlington. Perfect place to take a friend for a chat or come alone to read and work. The icing on the cake is that they use fair trade organic beans and a percentage of the coffee proceeds (and cute merchandise) goes to animal rescue organizations in the area. Sunday's in Burlington are pretty sleepy so finding a place that is open is always a challenge u less you want to go to a chain restaurant. My husband and I were excited to run into this quaint little coffee shop! The service was excellent and they have some great choices for pastries as well as hot dishes. What a find! Bean counter is the best café in Burlington. While the actual quality of the coffee is nothing special, it is acceptable and will hit the spot if you're looking for a decent cup of Joe. The real allure of the Beancounter is its atmosphere and food. Unlike Starbucks has dynamic seating where you can have a private business meeting, chill with your friends, work on a project, or even bring your family. It is a very special place. Their food is delicious and well prepared and their bakery section is ALL HOMEMADE and delicious. Also their latte menu is expansive and, if you like that kind of thing, you will love it.
