My boyfriend and I went to try out the food at McAlister's Deli for lunch while touring the area of Burlington. The staff working was very nice. We both got a McAlister's Club with a side of potato salad. We ordered our food and then took it to-go and drove to eat lunch outside near the Mississippi. The food was very good. We both enjoyed our meals and plan to return next time we are in the area.

The quality of food is lacking and the employees do not care about quality or accuracy. Such a shame, used to be such a good place

Salad was fresh, inside was clean, and staff were very friendly. Not much more you could ask for from a fast casual place.

I love the counter service concept and being able to pick my pastry out of the case before finding a seat. I ordered the breakfast burrito, a lemon poppyseed muffin, and a latte. For brunch catching up with a friend, it was the perfect blend of savory and sweet. And MAN was the breakfast burrito delish - I adore when breakfast items have a hearty serving of avocado, and the burrito struck the perfect balance of avo and egg goodness. The accompanying sauce was also delicious. My only complaint is I'm not a local so I can't visit more often. Definitely give this one a try!

Rating = 8.6/10), Nutella Croissant (I'm a sucker for Nutella and this definitely delivered. Rating = 9.2), Hot Frosted Sugar Cookie Latte (Solid - nothing special here, probably wouldn't order again. Rating = 7.2/10), and Iced Vanilla Latte (Another solid latte, I liked how you could easily taste the espresso flavor! Rating = 7.9/10). Service: We didn't receive great service on this morning. The cashier seemed a little grouchy and our drinks took a while to come out. Nothing that majorly impacted our visit though. Ambiance: The location itself has an excellent vibe and physical space. There is ample seating with a variety of tables, booths, and stools. The space is also decorated/setup extremely well - I'd say one of the best I have reviewed thus far! Overall, Barrett's is an excellent non-chain coffee shop! I'll be back to visit in the future.

The price was so reasonable, I could hardly believe it. I can't wait to order these again the next time we are in Galesburg. Thank you, Cornucopia, for this excellent experience.

I would to start off this review by saying at I am not from Galesburg. I am from the far-off land…read moreof California, where humble shops like these don't really exist. When they do, they have competition against stores like Whole Foods who take customers from the local natural food stores, leading to the prices being marked up. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of keeping local businesses open and thriving, but I will humbly step off my soap box, and continue on to share my love for this beautiful business. As I get off the train from San Francisco and search up local restaurants, I come across Cornucopia, a hybrid business model that has both a deli and a market with great prices and a bigger selection than most stores I have seen. With curiosity in my head, and a growling stomach, I set off to walk the entire 3 minutes it takes to get to Cornucopia from the train station. I need not say the location of this place is great. The moment I walk in, I am greeted by both the delicious smell of Indian food as well as a nice woman by the name of Susan Lyon. She tells me that this is not only a family run business, but a business run by all women, and Susan (with her husband) are the founders. After our greetings and conversation, I walk to the deli where they had a fine selection of foods from sandwiches to curries. I order the coconut curry (a popular dish, from the words of the man working there) with turmeric rice, and a cup of coffee. I cannot understate the amount of flavor it has, and I highly recommend it to anyone who cannot do spicy food. I also see their selection of bulk spices, frozen meals, supplements, and everyday use items like toothpaste and shampoos. I walked out with a smile on my face, and as the cold Illinois wind hits me I feel longing to go back to the warmth of Cornucopia once again, but my train was to leave soon. I enjoyed every moment of this business, and I will always hope that they expand their business to California. If you ever are visiting Galesburg, Illinois, please make sure to go here. You will be pleasantly surprised by this humble family business. I hope my review, written on the observatory deck of the Amtrak, not only convince you to go here, but give you the little slice of life that Galesburg has to offer.
