A very decent Mexican restaurant! We've been here twice and both times have been very consistent. We got the Carne Asada and the Molcajete and it was pretty good! Very flavorful and if you ask for hot salsa, it goes well with everything. We also tried their Lime Margarita and it hit the spot. This is possibly the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. The street corn appetizer came out with our food. It was lukewarm canned corn with a few squirts of mayonnaise on top. This is not street corn. My vegetarian option was absolutely inedible and the red sauce tasted like cold tomato soup on top. The margaritas obviously come out of a container and have an artificial taste. I saw an employee moving a garbage can full of tortilla chips through the restaurant. I've been coming to this restaurant for a few years and it has improved. Friday night I went and ordered the Texas fajitas. I'm really surprised that none of the heat dishes come with a small side of guacamole that was disappointing.. The fajitas were really dry. I know previous restaurants at least dipped butter onto the hot skillet on its way out to add juices to it, but they did not at this restaurant.. also they were very busy even though I got my food in a timely manner. The server disappeared. Fortunately, another kind server was able to give me a to go box and when I got up, the server noticed me going towards the cashier and I was able to get my check.. I did tell him that the fajitas were really dry and I also told the cashier that the server was not available to check on me after dropping off my meal. Fortunately, I did not need a refill on my water.. This won't deter me from going back. I know that they are busy at times and the quality of food has gotten better. I just guess I caught them at a bad time. read more

El Toro has essentially upgraded everything that was already great about Mi Pueblo. They've given the place a much needed makeover. I wish I'd gotten a photo of the bar from the entrance because it was very eye catching. The food was excellent, the service was superb, and it was overall a very good experience. If you like a nice limey salsa, El Toro is sure to satisfy. I think this is probably the best Mexican restaurant in town as of 2024. read more

Terrible service! They don't serve Diet Coke, so I bring my own. This time they said I could not drink it there. I had to order Pepsi. I said I don't drink Pepsi and I would drink a Diet Coke if they would serve it. He said no. I said I would not eat there without a Diet Coke, and he said No! So I left. Went to Taco Bell and paid a lot less. Very short sighted for a restaurant to turn away business!! read more

Visiting the area and found this place by accident and was so glad to discover it. I prefer to order a la carte as I'm not a fan of rice and such. The steak Chimichanga was good but portion was a bit smaller than I had expected. It was tasty however. It's one of the few places in the area that has close to authentic.
