Been to Burlington on trips about 10 times and where to find quality food is always a concern. Unfortunately, Burlington is a bit of a food desert. We usually only eat a 2 places there where we know we can get a good meal. But I am thrilled to say I've added a 3rd place to our list! Wake n Bake served up one of the most delicious cheeseburgers I've ever had and as a pilot I've tried my fair share. We ate dinner at a pretty expensive restaurant there in Burlington but honestly, the burger at Wake n Bake was way better! It will be the first thing I get when I go back! read more

I would have to say that the Wake n Bake is the hottest place in Burlington. I cannot believe they turned a garage into a bar/ restaurant! It's modern, its home style, it's the perfect place to have a good time with some good food. I'll have to keep coming back to try the rest of the breakfast menu and the dinner menu. I really wish I could have a good experience at Wake n Bake. I think the restaurant is super cool looking. But, I have been here three times and every time myself and who I was with were forgotten about. Twice while seated outside, once seated inside. Each time my drinks were given to my for free. Which was more than okay. Just becomes frustrating to be at a restaurant for over two hours while they aren't slammed and become forgotten about. The food is just okay. I haven't had anything that has blown my mind, though. The drinks are pretty good, though. read more

Upon initial impression I found the restaurant/bar to be a fun place. The menus have descriptions as the naming is out there in left field. The decor around the restaurant is a fun, funky, modern, psychedelic theme. There are some unwanted political emphasis surrounding some of the decorum, but nowadays exceptions have to be allowed. The grill team is visible through a large server hole in the wall ( the grill team does stare FYI) . Overall if you want something new and your tired of the traditional Midwest theme you should try this place. read more

It is Father's Day, there are soccer and baseball tournaments in town, and the place is packed. We almost didn't stop. I am so glad we did. The wait was understandably lengthy but the staff was exceptionally kind and accommodating. We will 100% make this a stop when we return next year! read more

Had to wait an hour and a half for my food. An hour and a half at 10am on a Saturday at a place that only serves Breakfast. How is it even possible to be that far behind? Was told it would be 40 minutes as I was ordering food and then it turned into much longer than that. I've been thinking about why it took so long for three days now and I still for the life of me can't figure it out. They serve eggs, omelettes and waffles. Nothing that takes that long to cook. What made the situation even worse was looking around the restaurant at everyone also waiting and being ignored by the wait staff. A small "I'm Sorry" would have gone a long way toward making the situation better. I also noticed that two tables that were seated after me got their food before I did, which was also disappointing. Then when my food arrived, it wasn't even hot as it seemed to sit in the window waiting for a server for a few minutes. It was lukewarm at best. It might have made up for the situation a tad bit if my food had been piping hot; but alas, no. Warm or actually, tepid. Also troubling was the fact that I saw one of the owners in the restaurant the entire time and she never once went to any one of the tables of the people waiting so long for their food to at the very least apologize. She definitely never came to mine. She seemed to be concentrating on only talking to people that she knew personally. I guess since I don't know her, I don't count. Disappointing. I really want to like and support local businesses like Wake N Bake but after paying $40 (with tip) for a breakfast that was mediocre and took way too long to get to me, I just don't see myself going back. I even took the time to write the restaurant personally and I still haven't heard back from them which indicates to me that they may not really care. I guess I'll have to find another breakfast place in town that wants business and takes steps to keep people coming in the door. Wake N Bake just doesn't seem like that type of place to me. read more

Really want to give five stars because Burlington needs more creativity and independent places like this to bring it back. Food was awesome. Homemade donuts were great. Coffee was mediocre. The service was overwhelmed and food was slow to come. Our colleagues at the next table over had to wait 30+ and eventually got their food to go. They HAVE to get this figured out or it will kill them. With such yummy food and a great idea they have to make the speed and staffing keep up. Some good strong yummy coffee would be a plus too. The menu is one page front and back with great selection inspired from all over the country. I had the Elvis waffle and biscuits and gravy. Fun combination and just good comfort food. Another building in downtown Burlington that now has been repurposed. This was a gas station and tire shop when we moved away. Our breakfast was fabulous. They cooked my omelette just as I requested, the ham was very good and just the right amount of cheddar cheese. The hash browns were very tasty, and the Biscuits were quite nice.
