The place is beautiful. The service was ok. You make the line and there is no one around to ask for help or ask questions. It is a self-service situation. There are no explanations of the wines and how they taste. It is more like a store (buy and sit) and less as a winery experience. I did get the Grizzle flight and all six wines were ok. Nothing out of the normal like any wine you buy at the store. So, not impressed. But it is a good place to bring your kids and enjoy a nice afternoon with wine.

Always greeted with a smile and service is attentive and quick. So glad that a food truck is on site to provide snacks or a simple delicious meal. We enjoyed the live entertainment and casual atmosphere.

Stopped at Bear Claw vineyards and enjoyed some daily entertainment, wine and a fire with views. I enjoyed 3 out of 4 wines, Chardonnay is not my fave ever, so just personal preference. Beautiful scenery in Blue Ridge!

Highly recommend doing VIP tour. What a great experience and the owner provides so much knowledge and fun!

The atmosphere is 10/10. Beautiful property, beautiful outdoor space. The musician that was there (10/29) was FANTASTIC. The wine was just so so for me. Not a lot of red options, and didn't love what they had. I'd go back though for the views and the music.

I think this was a nice quaint winery. Perfect after visiting the Orchard. I would recommend bringing food with you because there really isn't much to eat in the area. They have outdoor seating and also seating under a rooftop for those rainy or snowy days. The service was nice too. Pet friendly, games and live music. We enjoyed the cheese & crackers as well as the wine sampler. The wines weren't the greatest i've tried. My favorite was the red one in the center the most (forget the name) would definitely recommend this place when visiting blue ridge. because I think it's a great way to kill time

My family isn't into wine but we came to a winery. The outside is open, had live music. Kids played around a creek with other kids, brought our dog and everyone had a great time. They had board games and would bring out brand new ones every little bit. They had a great variety. The staff was nice, patient and informative as we aren't wine people. Just a great overall family day for all ages. Highly recommend!!

Nice little spot off the beaten path. Tons of spots to warm yourself by a fire on a cold day, live music and a great little hot dog truck (odd mix with wine but strangely good). The line to order is kind of odd as it's hard to see what options you have before it's your turn. The two ladies at the counter didn't seem overly friendly but also were not rude. It was NY Eve and it was getting very busy so I can only assume they were overwhelmed and trying to keep people hydrated. I look forward to trying them on a non holiday.

A gorgeous day for live music, vineyard views and a great glass of wine. Bear Claw is a bit off the beaten path but it was a gorgeous drive with all the fall foliage and smooth country roads. Service was great, open seating and many of wines to choose from. I'd definitely pack a lunch or some snacks as there are not many options here or around here. About 25 minutes down the road are several fast food places that would be convenient for a lunch, if needed. Blue Ridge is such a gorgeous place to visit and Bear Claw added to our experience. Cheers!

When in Blue Ridge, the goal is to try to find new little spots we love to spend time, drink a glass and just enjoy the weather. This is one of those little spots. We are not far and we grueling loved it. I might say that if other vineyards, but i mean it for all. The ladies at the front are nice and very pleasant. The place is clean and has plenty of seating. The view is wonderful. Come with your blanket and suit down on the grass, or grab a picnic table under the trees. Either way, you will enjoy. The do have a small selection of food. We didn't eat here bcuz we had just had dinner. But definately try their wines. They have a great selection. Their tasting is a great way to start, and find your favorite.

When we pulled up, it was a bit underwhelming. Definitely didn't have high expectations but we actually had a pretty good time! We paid for the wine tour.. it was about $70 per person. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours. We came in & learned about the vineyard's history & other interesting facts about wine preservation, aged wines, and many other things. The seating area is a decent size. There were three large round tables that were spaced out pretty well with about 6 people per table. We were a table of 4 & sat comfortably with 2 other people. We tried 6 different wines & received a 10% discount on any wines we ordered. Madison was such a sweetheart! As the owner fed us the information, Madison served us the wine. Madison was extremely helpful & offered to take pictures often. (She has great angles, let me just say that). The only reason this vineyard was given 4 stars and not 5 is because I wish there was more land to tour. Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves & id recommend this vineyard to travelers.

    See the vineyards behind us.

Ambiance and service was great. Great for groups especially if you enjoy playing games while enjoying your wine.

Ask the Community - Bear Claw Vineyards

    Do you serve nonalcoholic options?

Yes, we have lots of non-alcohol options. No alcohol slushes, all Coke products like Powerade, ginger ale, etc.…

Picnic baskets and snacks allowed, or only sold on premises?

Picnic baskets with food and snacks "are allowed" at Bear Claw. Snacks, cheese and crackers, etc. are also for sale on site as well.…

Are other alcoholic drinks available aside from wine? Do they serve beer or cocktails? Thanks!

Thanks for asking, Bear Claw's tasting room only has wine and at certain times of the season, summer and fall we have Hard Cider. We apologies Fannin County (not in the city limits) does not allow for Hard Alcohol to be sold. If you have an event…

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes - Dogs on a leash are allowed on the patio and the vineyard grounds. Cheers to Dogs!

    Are dogs allowed?

    Yes they are!

The U-pick apple experience was a blast, and the orchard is beautiful, well organized, and family-friendly. We spent hours here between picking apples, browsing the market, and sampling drinks. There is an incredible selection of local products, baked goods, jams, cider, wine, fresh produce, gifts, and souvenirs. Everything looked fresh and high quality, although many of the items are definitely on the pricey side. We also tried both the hard cider and wine flights, which were reasonably priced and a fun way to sample several of their offerings before deciding what to take home. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming, and despite the crowds, the overall operation ran smoothly. Unfortunately, what should have been a five-star experience was overshadowed by one concerning incident. After returning from the U-pick orchard on the tractor, we noticed a family parked a couple of spaces away from us. The adults removed a younger child from the vehicle, and it appeared there may have been another child, approximately four years old, still inside the parked vehicle. We fully recognize the seriousness of making that assumption and cannot say with certainty what the circumstances were. However, with temperatures well above 90 degrees, we felt it was far better to report what we observed than ignore a situation that could potentially put a child at risk. What disappointed us most was the response. We informed staff of our concern, yet there seemed to be little to no sense of urgency. Even if it ultimately turned out to be a misunderstanding, I would have expected someone to immediately check on the situation or at least acknowledge the concern and verify that the child was safe. When it comes to a potential child safety issue, I'd much rather see staff respond quickly to a false alarm than risk overlooking a genuine emergency. Despite that experience, Mercier Orchards is still a wonderful destination. The U-pick experience, shopping, cider and wine tastings, and overall atmosphere make it a place I'd recommend to anyone visiting the Blue Ridge area. My hope is simply that management reinforces the importance of treating potential safety concerns with the urgency they deserve. Had it not been for that interaction, this easily would have been a five-star review.
