Bear Claw Winery is a nice place to sit by a cozy fire pit on a cool day, listen to music and sample wine ( coffee for me) my wife and daughter loved the place and the people are friendly and accommodating to their guest. After arriving in the Blue Ridge area Friday we were on the hunt for a little family fun and found this gem on Yelp! The vineyard is kid and dog friendly so we decided we'd go explore! Bear came with us and was the perfect pup just chilling and loving all of the attention! The service was great we went to the counter and ordered our drinks. My kiddo even got to have a blue raspberry slushie which made her night she ended up with blue lips and teeth too! They also have a gift shop full of adorable merchandise: cups with the bear claw logo etched on (I got a wine cup lol! ) , cork bracelets (we got two), dog clothes, goat milk soap, t shirts etc. They have lots of seating options indoor tables as well as lots of tables with little fire pits outside and lots of games. On the weekends, they have live music. When we visited artist Russ Stills was there. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. He even came around the audience meeting and greeting with each table and taking requests. This is a fantastic spot to grab a drink and listen to good music and take in the beauty of the vineyard. 10 out of 10 for sure! read more

The place is beautiful. The service was ok. You make the line and there is no one around to ask for help or ask questions. It is a self-service situation. There are no explanations of the wines and how they taste. It is more like a store (buy and sit) and less as a winery experience. I did get the Grizzle flight and all six wines were ok. Nothing out of the normal like any wine you buy at the store. So, not impressed. But it is a good place to bring your kids and enjoy a nice afternoon with wine. read more

My family isn't into wine but we came to a winery. The outside is open, had live music. Kids played around a creek with other kids, brought our dog and everyone had a great time. They had board games and would bring out brand new ones every little bit. They had a great variety. The staff was nice, patient and informative as we aren't wine people. I think this was a nice quaint winery. Perfect after visiting the Orchard. I would recommend bringing food with you because there really isn't much to eat in the area. They have outdoor seating and also seating under a rooftop for those rainy or snowy days. The service was nice too. Pet friendly, games and live music. We enjoyed the cheese & crackers as well as the wine sampler. The wines weren't the greatest i've tried. this place was SOOO cute. They have a great wine flight. I did come during the "winter months" (February) so the vines were dried out but the wine was still being poured. The location has a small indoor seating which was packed at this time and they have an outdoor patio with small personal firepits. Although it was a winter month we were able to snag a fire-pit and sip on a glass of red wine. Service to get the wine was great. I think it was a little slow to clean up. There were multiple flight trays laying around but I'm sure it was due to the volume of people/ not having a spot to return the trays. read more

Nice little spot off the beaten path. Tons of spots to warm yourself by a fire on a cold day, live music and a great little hot dog truck (odd mix with wine but strangely good). The line to order is kind of odd as it's hard to see what options you have before it's your turn. The two ladies at the counter didn't seem overly friendly but also were not rude. It was NY Eve and it was getting very busy so I can only assume they were overwhelmed and trying to keep people hydrated. I look forward to trying them on a non holiday. read more

A gorgeous day for live music, vineyard views and a great glass of wine. Bear Claw is a bit off the beaten path but it was a gorgeous drive with all the fall foliage and smooth country roads. Service was great, open seating and many of wines to choose from. I'd definitely pack a lunch or some snacks as there are not many options here or around here. About 25 minutes down the road are several fast food places that would be convenient for a lunch, if needed. Blue Ridge is such a gorgeous place to visit and Bear Claw added to our experience. When in Blue Ridge, the goal is to try to find new little spots we love to spend time, drink a glass and just enjoy the weather. This is one of those little spots. We are not far and we grueling loved it. I might say that if other vineyards, but i mean it for all. The ladies at the front are nice and very pleasant. The place is clean and has plenty of seating. The view is wonderful. Come with your blanket and suit down on the grass, or grab a picnic table under the trees. Either way, you will enjoy. The do have a small selection of food. We didn't eat here bcuz we had just had dinner. But definately try their wines. They have a great selection. Their tasting is a great way to start, and find your favorite. read more

When we pulled up, it was a bit underwhelming. Definitely didn't have high expectations but we actually had a pretty good time! We paid for the wine tour.. it was about $70 per person. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours. We came in & learned about the vineyard's history & other interesting facts about wine preservation, aged wines, and many other things. The seating area is a decent size. There were three large round tables that were spaced out pretty well with about 6 people per table. We were a table of 4 & sat comfortably with 2 other people. We tried 6 different wines & received a 10% discount on any wines we ordered. Madison was such a sweetheart! As the owner fed us the information, Madison served us the wine. Madison was extremely helpful & offered to take pictures often. (She has great angles, let me just say that). The only reason this vineyard was given 4 stars and not 5 is because I wish there was more land to tour. Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves & id recommend this vineyard to travelers. read more

Such a cool place and the owner Michelle is awesome. Take the tour. It is worth it. Taste all the wines, learn about winemaking and meet some new friends. The wines are pretty darn good too. We bought some treehouse Chardonnay that was not on the menu but is offered on the tour. Really nice Chardonnay. The kodiak red was my favorite red but I liked all the reds though. We have attempted to come here before during the pandemic however the hours were off for our scheduled visit to the area. Ample, gravel parking lot with lots of space for lots of vehicles. We arrived on a Saturday at 1ish PM and were some of the few at the winery. We were immediately greeted and given ample and helpful info on the wines. We ordered a black bear flight with 2 red and 4 white wines. Absolutely delicious on all accounts. We loved the rustic ambience, ability to play games with our 3 kids and the ability to hang out while enjoying some downtime. When you pull up to this precious, quaint vineyard you know you're in for a Georgia Mountain treat. As you walk in the front door you instantly see the kind southern hospitality on the faces behind the bar. The girls were quick to point me in the right direction of doing the "full tasting" of six wines and a simple Amish Sampler cheese board. Four whites and two reds were a unique experience for the taste buds. Being more of a Malbec/Barberra rich red wine girl myself, all the whites were too light and sweet for me. But, my husband loved the GA peach one. I preferred the Cab Sauv which was actually not made on site. Oh well, to each his own. The vineyard is gorgeous. Great views indoors and outdoors. You can walk around the vineyard as well. Ample seating area both inside and outside. Fire pits are available. For outdoor seating, you'd have to fetch wood from the side and light it up yourself which was a fun experience. Plenty of board games are available as well. The wine itself was underwhelming. During a girls trip, we came here to test the wines in the area. The atmosphere was very inviting, benches outside, firepit and open indoor seating. We had the flight of 6. We ordered the food from Smash Hit Burger food truck and we were able to bring it inside. They also had Walking Taco food truck. The food was really good and the service was awesome. The Loaded Brisket Tots is a must and the burgers are prepared when ordered. So good. Everyone so friendly. They also had a band setting up around 2pm. A must visit if you are in the area. read more

This is a nice spot to taste some wines. Ended up going with the "grizzly" flight, which had all 6 of their wines (4 white wines and 2 red wines), and the piña colada wine slushy. I enjoyed my visit here, but I don't think there's anything particularly special about the wine. I thought the tasting was a bit pricey. I believe it was $14 for 4 of the white wines, $10 for 2 of the other wines, and then $23 for all 6. $5 extra if you want to keep your glass. My friends and I did the $14 for 4, and I really only enjoyed 2 of them that I didn't pay any particular attention to the name of the wines I was drinking. I did like the last one though and bought a bottle of that- the Dreamcatcher. In addition to our tasting, we felt it natural that we order the cheese and meat tray as well, which I wasn't impressed with. For $12 I thought the quantity was pretty small with only one meat option. However at the same time, I liked that they have that option available. I did enjoy the atmosphere though- very spacious and peaceful with indoor and outdoor seating. There's a little patio section outside with corn hole in addition to picnic tables in the grass area. Cute small vineyard with a few interesting wines. Appreciated the warning on the door that no beer was available on the premises, so I knew this would be a short visit since I am the only wine drinker in my family. The server was very nice and helpful explaining the wine and tasting options. I tried the "polar bear" which was three whites and a rose. The only wine that I actually enjoyed was the treehouse. I might have tried a slushy too but it was a chilly day and I didn't want to hold up my family. The live music was fun and the outdoor space was inviting.
