I was in the area for Mercier Orchards and decided to swing by Kerith House Winery to check out this new spot. It's still early days for them, but they're off to a good start. They don't have their food license yet, so just a heads-up--no kitchen service for now. But they do offer prepackaged meats and cheeses you can buy, which is a nice touch if you want something to nibble on while you sip. We opted not to do order snacks. I ordered a wine flight served in cute little glass containers and genuinely enjoyed all of them. I also tried the fall sangria--festive and not overly sweet, with real apple slices and a cinnamon stick. Perfect for the season. I sat outside in the early afternoon and loved the peaceful vibe. Plenty of outdoor seating, and from the quick peek I got inside, the interior looks beautifully done. I'll definitely explore more next time. Overall, it's a charming stop if you're already in the area.

Voodoo food truck was great! (A rarity anymore). The band, Topper, was very entertaining The wine was tasty and that is what we came for.

This is an amazing place. So beautiful. The wines are tasting, different from what you get around. I visited another winery before this one and I'm glad I didn't buy any bottles there because I bought three at Kerith's. The service was on top.

The sangria is fantastic and the staff were delightful. Small quaint place with a view!

Flight served in a lantern, so cool and unique!

Nice venue with good wines to choose from. We sat on their lovely patio and met the owner. Delightful.

New winery in Morganton and is like being transported to a chateau in the French countryside.

So Kaya has been on my list for a while for wineries to try. I've done others in the area but not…read moreKaya. In order to make my visit worthwhile, I decided to participate in the wine blending experience. Please note that this has to be booked ahead of time for them to prepare the items you need for the experience. When I entered the reception area of the winery I was greeted by who I know now is one of the owners which was a pleasant surprise. You get escorted down to the basement where the barrels and other items used in the winemaking process are stored. Imagine my excitement when I noticed the blending set up looked like a chemistry lab. The STEM girlie in me couldn't have been more excited! You are given some background on the history of the type of wines available and how certain blends are made. Once that is done, you are guided through blending your own wine; using 3 types of blends that are made on site at Kaya. The blends are red wines so if you prefer white blends this experience may not be for you. Once you complete your blend you seal it and label it and voila! Your own personalized wine. This experience was amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to come back to try it again. Nick was a top tier teacher for this experience!

I went on a winery tour here and it was pretty good. They were very professional and knew a lot…read moreabout the craft. It wasn't like the tour itself but actually got to make some bottles to take home of the wine. That in itself was worth it! So first things first you'll get there and you'll come into the lounge or cabin area and there are a couple of different spots you can go to. There is actually a spot for members only from what it looks like but there is a general spot and then there is a whole outdoor area like a patio. They have another outdoor area that is on the side of the building that you get the best view of the greenery and that's pretty amazing. It's a really nice view. If you're hungry, they have some small bites for you so don't feel like you have to drink and then not eat. Just in case you're wondering, they will have finger foods for you. It's nothing major but it's like dip or something along those lines so don't expect steaks. For the bottling you will go down to the basement where they have all the barrels (Nick was awesome and took care of everyone there). You will get to try a couple of different wines and mix those together to find a specific one that you like. At the end they will help you bottle it and cork it and then you will take it home. Overall if you haven't done any of the winery things in this part of Georgia, it would be a good place to start. Especially because there's so many in this area that you can do several in one day.
