Irrigation manitenance Bear Creek Landscaping is a proactive company that provides excellent installation work on going maintenance and support. They installed my irrigation system 10 years ago and are still actively making sure everything is working to my satisfaction (thank you Sara for the great communication). What I was sold and what I received are two totally different products. I spoke with Bear Creek about my concerns regarding the terrible looking cedar at the top of pergola. I was told that I should have stained, painted, or somehow protected the wood. They also stated that if I would have had the cedar pressure treated as stated in the contract, it would look, "quite ugly". They suggested I pressure wash the wood, then stain it, maybe paint it. All the things I was thinking I paid for two years ago. My pergola looks like it's 20 years old. I wish they would have done something to protect the wood, or tell me to do it then. I would have paid them to do it. *Now they want me to pay for services to bring the pergola up to the standard of excellence I believed to have already paid for. They are telling me they can, for a fee, restore the pergola. A pergola that is less than two years old. I've seen the reviews for maintenance contracts with Bear Creek Landscaping, no thanks. I would rather hire somebody from the parking lot of Home Depot, I would probably get the same skill set and warranty. read more

Bear Creek Landscaping was recommended to us by a happy customer on Ring. We had an older pond that needed major repairs, so we decided to remove the pond. We called Dan and he came over to locate the leek in the pond, which he found right away. Since we did not want to repair the pond, he suggested we turn it into a patio, which we did. He used the stones we had as our waterfall for the patio and the rocks to define flower beds. It was a completely beautiful transformation of that side of our yard. The Bear Creek crew that worked on our project were super nice and highly creative, not to mention hard working. The new patio is beautiful. Within less than a week the pond was removed and the patio completed. We are going to have Bear Creek redo the front steps to our house, too. read more

I have used Bear Creek landscaping for two of the homes that I owned on the Eastside. The first was in the Bear Creek neighborhood itself, in Woodinville, where our landscaping consisted largely of a lawn and typical plants found in the region (Rhodies and a few tall grass plants and flowers) and the service was excellent. Our most recent house has a wide variety of plants and trees, including palm trees, hybrid plants and trees, mix of annuals and perennials, etc.) A valuable lesson I learned was that Bear Creek has different property managers of varying experience. If you have a wide range of plants & trees, which may require special attending, ask for one of their senior account managers to develop a maintenance program for your property. After waiting over a hour past the appt time I called and was informed they were called out on an emergency. They promptly arranged another visit for the next day which went as planned. We have been having a heck of a time with service people out here. Want a window fixed? Sub-contracting work? Your roof repaired? Yard cleaned/re-landscaped? I can't detail all the time we spent calling service after service and given the run-around or the brush-off or not contacted back at all. We never had this sort of trouble giving people our money in California. Bear Creek at least came out and took a look (this was after three other companies even refused to consider our project). He arrived on time and was professional. Even recommended a tree company because we wanted to trim some trees and this was out of his area of work. He then promised me a bid within a week and left. No bid. Nada. zip. zilch. I contacted him after about a week and a half asking about the bid. Nada. zip. zilch. Thank goodness I had the foresight to book an appointment on a day I was working from home or I would be pretty pissed off at this point. As it is, I am merely disappointed. Wow, I am so impressed with Bear Creek Landscaping! We recently bought a house that had a water feature that was in disrepair, and covered with moss and algae. I called Bear Creek to see if someone would be willing to take a look at it and see what could be done. Dan came out just a few days later and gave me an estimate right away, plus said that he would be able to schedule me to get the work done just a few days later. The guys finished the work in two days (it would have been even less, but one of those days they were working in 100+ weather, so had to end early), and it looks like new. Dan then met with me again to talk about upcoming maintenance to keep the water feature looking great. Just this alone would have been enough, but while he was out there, Dan answered my many questions about the irrigation system, walked the property with me, testing out the various zones and showing me how it works. He was with me for probably about an hour, and all of this was with no assurance that I was even going to contract with BC to pay them to do work on the property. Basically, he took a chance, giving me an hour or so of his time for free, just because he's clearly a decent guy. This says a lot to me about the kind of company Bear Creek is. We are now planning to have them out to do some work on the irrigation system at the house, as well as to help with periodic clean-ups, pruning, etc. I highly recommend calling Bear Creek! read more

Bear Creek landscaping provides ongoing maintenance for several neighbors, so I had high hopes after Alex came out to take a look at our yard & assured me that they could take care of everything. I was quite specific & even provided a print out list of all the work we wanted done. After that, everything went south. Several weeks & half a dozen phone calls & email later, I had promises of a written estimate but nothing in writing. After tentatively agreeing to a verbal estimate & agreeing on a start date (with plans to have the estimate in writing by then) he & his crew were no-shows. I called the office yet again, only to be told by the office person that she had no control over his schedule but would have him call me right away. He didn't, so I called back and cancelled the job. Great to work with. We did a major yard project with them, overall job took about a month. The scope of work - they tiered our back yard, installed a retaining wall and added a waterfall. They added another 800 square feet to our patio, painted/stained it to look good with the home, and reconfigured/upgraded our irrigation system. The whole crew actually started our job a few days early and then completed the job on time as promised. The entire time we had excellent communication with Mike C, the owner. Like any job there were a few "moving parts" that popped during the process, Mike was awesome to work with and made the whole experience, moving parts and all, very stress free. They are a little pricier than some other places. This is definitely a case of getting what you pay for. The crew is fastidious, taking great care of the leaves, edging the lawn, removing weeds, etc. They also installed an automatic watering system, have done fence repair for me, and so on. We have used them for several years and have worked with other landscape services. I appreciate their professionalism, attention to detail, and how they make recommendations for enhancements to the yard. We did make it known that we would appreciate suggestions to improve the appearance of our yard. Mike is never pushy and has taken "no-s" easily, helping us stay in our budget. We have a large back yard at our Sammamish home, which we bought a year ago. We decided we wanted to completely re-imagine the gardens, patios, fire pit and hot tub location. Danny was our Bear Creek designer and was a true pleasure to work with, as was Jorje, the job foreman. They were extremely collaborative in the design from the beginning as well as revisions we made along the way. We have a long house with patio area across a sloping yard and they designed a beautiful approach to incorporating a fire-put area with seat wall into the central patio area, and dealt with a challenging re-location of the hot tub that came with the house. They re-purposed a lot of the existing plantings and boulders on the property into a beautiful series of gardens and landscape. Most of all, they were a pleasure to work with at every step, and have proactively followed up after the job was complete to make sure the new lawn is doing well and we are happy with the outcome. He met all our high-level requirements plus added plants that produces color throughout the seasons, easy to maintain, and we now have a beautiful lawn. We still get compliments from our neighbors. Bear Creek Landscaping is one of the most professional and talented companies I have ever had the pleasure to work with! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Problem: Larger delivery truck got stuck in my dirt driveway creating huge ruts and damaging plants. Bear Creek: Responded to me the same day and sent out a wonderful contact to review and provide estimate. When I had challenges getting a callback from this contact, Russ Weaver sent me the most professional email letting me know this person had unexpectedly quit, but they would be out to perform the quoted job next week. I was very appreciative of his transparency about what had occurred. Although they had a glitch in their schedule, and had to come out a day later, Russ was profoundly apologetic via phone and email and thanked me for my flexibility. Russ let me know exactly when the team would arrive that day and they arrived on time! The team, Jose, Margarito, and Ramone, ensured the topsoil evened out the downslope on the driveway, put some old railroad ties I had on the side and secured them with rebar, added the gravel and tamped this deeply into the soil to create a solid base. Jose had me come out and check their progress to ensure I was happy with what they were doing, which I greatly appreciated! Jose also suggested trimming some branches to ensure trucks were not hitting them - so he was thinking about how to ensure the surroundings supported large delivery trucks. After the work was complete, Russ followed up with both a call, and another extremely professional email to ensure I was happy with the work. He also thanked me again for being flexible about the schedule. As a project manager myself, I was amazed how Russ (The COO of the company) called me personally and followed up each step of the way. Russ was very proactive in his communications. Very rare! Bottom line - Bear Creek Landscaping is an exemplary company and I will reach out to them for any future landscaping needs! We hired Bear Creek to come out and build a patio, a retaining wall and lay down some sod. Some of the work has been good (the retaining wall), but other parts of it were not so good. For example, they installed 90% of the irrigation system, but never came back to install the last 10%, so it doesn't work at all. Also, they didn't mend the soil before they laid sod down, so it has died in large patches and we now need to pay to have some one reseed and fertilize. However, the most difficult part of the process was working with Joe - he was very pushy in terms of what he wanted to do. When a problem came up he tried to jump to what ever the easiest solution was for him - for example there was an underground obstacle for the stairs. So he pushed really hard to move them 4' to the right... which meant they led directly into a tree. It took way too much effort to bring back from that dumb idea and get the obstacle removed to do the right thing. I did recommend Bear Creek Landscaping to a friend, and they had a similarly bad experience. I will not be recommending them to anyone else. read more

We had an exceptional experience with the entire team -- from start to finish. The crew was unbelievably professional, efficient & organized. I only use them for landscape maintenance. They do a good job but are expensive compared to other places who do a similar quality of work. I'm not going to rate them poorly because of that but I just want to warn anyone considering them that they should get some quotes elsewhere first. They are easy to work with though and respond via email so that's a plus. Their staff are well educated on all aspects of landscaping. The downside is the pricing. For example, they quoted me almost $2500 to dethatch my lawn. I rented a power rake for $60 from home depot and did it myself in 4 hours. I think it's worth maybe $250 and that I would have paid. Their maintenance services are 45/hr per man hour which isn't as big of a rip off but I'm probably going to look for another company soon. read more

We needed major help in our yard and weren't sure where to turn. After hearing some good things about Bear Creek from a friend, we put in an inquiry to see if they could help. Mike responded very quickly and met with us to check out our yard which was filled with very mature rhodies, azaleas, fruit trees, and a variety of other good plants lost among weeds and scraggly patches of grass. Had in irrigation system installed. Started out great. But then they decided the project was done and charged the balance owed. I contacted them multiple times between August 8, 2020 and Sept 1, 2020 to get some problems resolved. They scheduled someone to come out twice and no-showed. Then after several calls, texts and emails each week, they finally sent someone to fix the problems on Sept 1, 2020. I asked multiple times over the course of the last week for the owner, Mike, to call me but it never happened. If they got busy and couldn't get back to our project immediately, a little communication would have made things much better. Everyone I talked to blamed someone else. read more
