This local bar is one of our favorites! The vibe is always fun and welcoming. The servers are all wonderful people with such kind souls. They are always hustling and will give you the best customer service. We have never had bad service. We frequent this bar due to the friendly staff and fantastic food. We love the burgers, onions rings, wings, chef salad and my husband's ultimate favorite is their broasted chicken! The cocktails are always so delicious as well! Highly recommend this spot! Not a good place. #1, They automatically add a percentage to your bill for a tip without telling you. So they receive a double tip. Their food is over priced. I ordered a meat lovers pizza and was told it was $16.99. But when I picked it up, it was $21.22. I looked at the bill and there was 2 different tax charges and the tip that I was unaware of and them alone were over $5.00. So I asked what all the extra charges were and I was told that they charge extra for orders to go but if they decide to eat at the bar then they take that charge off, which is not true cuz i live less then 2miles from there and have ordered in and to go and have questioned them previously about the extra charges and was told the same thing and have paid attention to the charges both eating in and out and never has it changed in price. But if you ask me, cuz it's a to go order and they don't need to wait on us or clean our table when we leave, why would they charge extra for less work? And then I asked about the tip charge. She didn't have anything to say about that so I asked her if they inform you their customers of that charge so they have the option of leaving yet another tip and her response was that the owners didnt tell them to. #2, their food is either under cooked or over cooked EVERY TIME! So if you like being charged for some bullshit and for food that isn't even good, then Bear Creek Tavern is definitely the place for you! Have a wonderful day! read more

I have tried most of their sandwiches and appetizers which are excellent, wings not so much. They served it to me dry and naked Boo what a waste of 16 bucks. Didn't even fill me up, was a little disappointed. Should have got a ruebin or the breakfast burger which I know is great. 4 stars for my previous visits and -1 for the one I had tonight. My family was excited to see this small town bar and restaurant open back up after a long remodel. The inside looked much better then I did before with the bathrooms being the best improvement. Service took a while to get to us and when she arrived with no mask after serving a full bar, we weren't very happy to see that. It was margarita night and those were not good at all. Sadly, the menu hadn't changed since they remodeled and it still didn't look very good. We decided against eating there since they weren't following basic hygiene during a pandemic had our drinks, and left. Don't plan on going there again. read more

I have to disagree with the one star rating. I did not dine in, but placed an order for pickup. I was told 15 minutes and headed over when it was near pickup time. Not a lot of folks in there on a Tuesday evening before a holiday. But there were at least three people working the front. Everyone greeted me with a friendly hello. I am sure there was a smile under the masks, as I genuinely felt welcomed. I saw what looked to be my food on the counter and it was all ready to go. Paid. Packed up and left. I walked out and was told thank you and goodbye. Opened up my orders of a Rachel, club, and two butternut squash soups. The soup was both hot and delicious! Not something we had before, but it was great! The sandwiches were also great, as were what looked and tasted like house made kettle chips. I live in Brainerd, but wanted to escape for the midweek holiday. Definitely will eat here again next time I stay at this VRBO. Support small business! They need all of us! read more
