I'm not writing this review to bash the office, but rather to provide feedback about my experience trying to become a new patient. I attempted multiple times to schedule a new patient appointment and unfortunately ran into several communication issues along the way. My first attempt was through a phone call, but the AI system did not correctly capture my information. I then submitted an online appointment request and received a text response from Chloe acknowledging it. I replied to that message but never received a response back. The next day I received an automated email stating the office had not heard back from me, even though I had already replied. I responded to that email as well, but again did not receive a follow-up. I also tried calling the phone number provided in the email and left a voicemail, and later found a different number online and left another voicemail after no answer. In total, I made four attempts to connect with the office but was never able to successfully schedule an appointment. Fortunately, I was able to call another dental office and get scheduled in under 15 minutes with a single phone call. I simply wanted to share this experience as feedback. It may be helpful for the office to review how automated systems and follow-ups are handled so that potential new patients don't fall through the cracks. Over the years I have been disappointed by most dental practices in the Delaware area. However, i gracefully stumbled upon Glasgow dental, and will never look back. From the amazing Eva at the front desk, in fact all the girls in the office have such a nurturing presence about them and make you feel at ease. I have special issues, and the hygienist took delicate care to ensure that I was comfortable . I will refer my friends and family. I have never seen a practice so concerned with money over standard of care. Despite having multiple insurance coverages, they ask for payment up front, and then hold your money even after being paid by the insurance. Trying to get a refund or anything from their billing department is very difficult. They also maximize the use of X rays and extra services to capitalize costs despite insurance coverages. I would recommend finding a provider that treats you as a person instead of a dollar sign. read more

This was my childhood dentist, so therefore I started bringing my kiddos here. It's a shame because hygienists and dentist are all wonderful however front desk is so rude. I work full time and some appointments my mother has to bring them for me as she is caregiver when I'm at work. This has never been an issue before as they call me to confirm everything before my child goes back. More recently March/april At my daughters last cleaning they changed there policy and they needed a notarized paper confirming that I was okay with my mother bringing my children . No problem, we did that so it can be updated for any future visits moving forward . Which brings us to today we were worried about one of her teeth and here we are 3 months later and now everything that was just notarized is no longer valid due to system change and everything has to be updated again. No communication about this during confirmation text or call, so therefore when my mother brought her today she could not be seen. This is absolutely ridiculous. When I called to voice my frustrations the lady named Erica lied to me told me my mother denied filling out paper work when that's not what happened at all. She had no problem updating medical info she had an issue with the notarized form no longer good after we just did it for them. This place has horrible costumer service and I am happy leaving this as we found a new office and we will not returning. read more

I have been a patient at Bear Glasgow Dental for over five years now. They have a very clean and well-managed office. The office is easily accessible within the Glasgow Medical Center of Peoples Plaza- across from Red Robin. There is plenty of accessible parking as well as typical parking. The front desk staff are welcoming and organized. The dental staff members are knowledgeable and give personalized care. I also like how they wear their blue uniforms, for some reason it makes me feel like everyone is "on the same page". I know many families who bring their children to this office. I also know of many people who have utilized their sedation services. I also appreciate the evening appointments on certain days and the weekend availabilities as well. Dr. Cha is an awesome doctor, and the technicians are great. On the other hand the front desk staff is rude, unprofessional and condescending. The front desk staff upon entering and leaving take away from the professionalism and care received by the doctor and technicians at this practice. Customer service and professionalism training should be a requirement for the front desk. This 1 star rating is for the front desk staff. If you want work done right, don't count on Bear-Glasgow dental. Terrible work and unethical business practices. I visited twice in the summer of 2015 for a cavity. The dentist, in the first visit, placed a temporary filling. The second visit, the dentist (a woman who didn't seem very confident about what she was doing) was supposed to replace the temporary filling with a permanent one. I wanted a white filling, was highly skeptical of the metal (because of the mercury), but she insisted that only a metal one could be used (something about it was still wet inside). She assured me that at least it would last longer than the white filling. Fast forward five years later. Extreme pain in the tooth. My new dentist (at a new practice) discovers upon removing the metal filling that the previous dentist LEFT THE TEMPORARY FILLING IN and that was the sole cause of the gap that occurred between the metal filling and the tooth. There was NO further decay. Just the metal filling and the temporary white filling that she explained should only be there for up to a month but was instead covered up in there for FIVE YEARS. I call today requesting at the very least a refund for services rendered that were obviously incorrectly done, and am told that because it's been over two years (the statute of limitations) they basically don't care and there's nothing they can do for me. An ethical business would look further into it, take the information from my current visit, and do the right thing in refunding me for the shoddy work (and better yet, paying for the work that needed to be redone as a result of the dentist's negligence). But not Bear-Glasgow, who only seemed to be concerned that I can't legally force them to do anything. After my negative experience with the dentist who did the filling, I never went back, but figured it wasn't worth making a fuss about. But now after realizing the extent of the mistake the dentist made, I'm fuming. This has caused me so much unnecessary pain and stress. read more

In my experience, Bear-Glasgow Dental is motivated by how much they can bill your insurance and not in caring for your dental health. The American Dental Association states: "how often X-rays, or radiographs, should be taken depends on specific factors such as an individual's current oral health, age, risk for disease and any signs or symptoms of oral disease. This means that there is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to the interval between dental X-rays." Moreover, the joint FDA and ADA recommendations regarding frequency and type of x-rays state they are "to be used by dentists only AFTER reviewing the patient's health history and completing a clinical examination." I started seeing DR. HERRING at Bear-Glasgow Dental two years ago and had full x-rays taken. 18 months later, during a routine cleaning and check-up I declined x-rays due to concerns about radiation in the area of my thyroid which was already compromised by an autoimmune disease. Dr. Herring did not try to address my concerns, but told me in a threatening manner that next time she would insist on the x-rays because their standard practice was to x-ray every 12 months. Six months passed when I came in for another routine cleaning. As I was sitting in the examination chair, the hygienist went over the plans which included x-rays. I politely explained that since our last appointment, I had been diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that was suspicious of cancer and that I would be having a thyroidectomy in a few weeks. Out of concern for my thyroid health and medical history for cancer, I would no longer consent to x-rays for routine-sake. The hygienist was kind and said she would go and let Dr. Herring know. Dr. Herring did not discuss my concerns, try to reason with me, or even attempt a compromised schedule. Although I was already sitting in the examination chair for an appointment, Dr. Herring did not examine my teeth. In fact, she did not meet with me at all. Instead, she sent the hygienist back in to me to tell me, "Dr. Herring cannot continue providing care for you. You will need to find a new dentist." I was kicked put of the practice unable to even have my teeth cleaned. Dr. Herring lacked compassion and professionalism. It had been less than two years since my last full set of x-rays taken at Bear-Glasgow. I was simply asking that x-ray frequency depend on my unique health needs, per the American Dental Association. Medical history differs from one individual to the next, and it is neither ridiculous nor offensive to ask that the scheduling of x-rays be individualized, especially when personal medical history causes someone to be uncomfortable with yearly scheduled radiation to their head. Refusing x-rays within a two year span should not disqualify me from having my teeth proactively cleaned. Dr. Herring did not show an interest in caring for my dental health. If she did, she would have at least tried to discuss with me why she felt I was putting myself at risk. I can only conclude that she wanted to strong arm me into an x-ray schedule I wasn't comfortable with because billing insurance for annual radiographs is where the money is. read more

They ask for information that we have already given them. They lady at the front declined our appointment and asked for SSN. I gave her the number but she said she needs a physical card. The place is too expensive. For two kids, they need an X-Ray and cleaning but they asked for more than $500. Also, the place didn't look very clean and the service is horrible. I don't recommend going there at all. In conclusion, they are a waste of money. read more

This was my first experience with the Bear-Glasgow dental office. It was a great experience. The receptionist was pleasant. I was there for a full mouth xrays and a check up and then was to come back to see a hygenist. The staff who did my x-rays and check up of my gums were friendly and professional. I met Neil Woloshin, DMD. I told him I like my medical team to be friendly, talk to me and I expect a lot. He was all of that. He explained the exams I had and results and suggestions for any treatment. I didn't have to come back to see the hygenist as someone was available. She was friendly, professional and carried on a conversation with me. Just as I like it. I would recommend them and W Dover Dental which is connected. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My daughter broke her front adult tooth-they never returned our emergency after hours message to find out what steps to take. Then put her off another two weeks to "heal" before they would fix. She spent 90 minutes in a chair to have the result in the left photo. When I called to speak with her dentist Dr Herring she couldn't call me back because of "phone issues, then it was lunchtime and now she's left for the day" It was 2:30 in the afternoon. The office manager Eric's response "well your husband and daughter seemed satisfied when they left." My daughter is 7-she'd be satisfied with a chiclet at this age. They said they could see her again in another two weeks to see if anything could be done. Instead I took her to another practice for a second opinion who not only were able to see her the very next day, but able to fix this travesty that same day in under 30 minutes. Absolutely HORRIBLE. It has taken over 7 months to get a crown on my tooth. Dr. Herring began this process the last week of June and it is still incomplete. It takes months to get on the schedule, I have paid in full, she's done a partial job and I'm still waiting while living with this handicap. As a result of her incompetence, I now have medical issues with my ears and am racking up medical bills. This office and this so-called dentist is more like social healthcare vs. a true dental office. Stay far away from this woman and this dental office. read more

We have been going to this dentist for 30 years. For the past few years it has gotten worse. I had a tooth crowned a few years ago. I have had many issues with it. Now they are telling me that I need to have it removed because there is a cavity Growing under the crown! $1700 to fix. I think not. I have another tooth that I had chipped many years ago and never had fixed. Each time I have gone in they have told me that it is very important to get fixed. Some how I have had no issues with this tooth, but the one I already payed $1500 dollars to get fixed needs more work now. Time to find a new dentist. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Do NOT take your children here. First appointment they gave my daughter oral sedation but not enough to put her to sleep. No worries, I get it, you can't just over do it and some children have more of a tolerance. Come back the second time they give her a bigger dose and she only falls like half asleep. The doctor was rude when I was trying to get her to drink the medicine. In total it took maybe a minute or two and my daughter wanted to do it herself so I let her hold the cup and after like 10 seconds he rudely says okay your clearly not going to drink it yourself so let your mom do it. If your working with children, you need more patience than that. As soon as they started my daughter was not handling it well. I feel like I was misguided and by the end of it, 3 people were holding her down to finish. She started off not doing well and I think the doctor should have said we shouldn't continue. Also, he let her see the needle which amplified her reaction. So that's just the terrible visit. Now, the filling is either so close to the other tooth or bonded to both teeth that I can't floss her teeth and I'm pretty sure that will need to be fixed. This office is ok for cleanings and superficial fillings. I highly recommend you go elsewhere if you have a real dental problem. My daughters adult tooth was pulled out and Dentist at Nemours hospital said they should have worked to save her tooth. My experience is the same I need a root canal but they just want to pull the tooth. Their only concern is saving the insurance company money. It's disgusting! read more

Dr. Chai has a good hand. Techniques and equipment are up dated. But stay away from this office they over bill constantly and have tricky ways to over collect for their services. They do not have "standard" fees they made up fees depending on a person to person basis and they have very well orchestra personnel to smile first and stab you them!!! Everything was great until I got a bill! I was quoted an amount that I paid about $800 which was a stretch for me. I was advised the rest would be covered by my insurance company Cigna. 2 months later I get a bill over $1,200. So I called the insurance company to see if the claim went through properly. They advised it did go through properly and the only way the $1,200 would be covered is if my son have a medical condition like down syndrome or autism. BEAR-GLASGOW DENTAL made me think this was a actual quote from the insurance company. I was told that Bear-Glasgow Dental never called for a quote they go by a chart. So now I have to pay $1,200 for a surgery for my 6 year that I was advised needed and would be covered by my insurance. When I called Bear Glasgow they put the blame on Cigna. I feel like Bear-Glasgow Dental KNEW my insurance company wasn't going to cover this, they put me under the impression it would be cover. Bear-Glasgow Dental just wanted the surgery done so they can get money. So disappointed. My son is fine and surgery went well but I still feel hustled now stuck with a $1,200 bill.
