It looked perfect on the outside, but once I got back home I realized that there were multiple zippers in one of the pockets (which a production error, they're only meant to have 1 zipper) and they chafe against my hands whenever I try to put my hands in my pockets. This employee denied the fact that historically, access to the waterfront was unrestricted and made denigrating comments about homeless people. For context: - the rental was not yet open - no customers or workers were at the dock area or on the ramp - Mead's Quarry itself is public land I will never rent from this company, and I encourage you to rent from somewhere else and/or paddle at the free, public Ijams dock on the Tennessee River instead. Knoxville shouldn't lease public land to a private company that polices its citizens.

It's a great way to see the mountains and the countryside and it's just plain fun! Sue took great care of us and when we took a pit stop for some food she hooked us up with fresh batteries. Not sure if a lot of places have them but Scotty Bike helmets have a built in walkie-talkie system so you can chatter on the ride. Lots of fun banter exchanged as we rode. I booked a moonlight paddle and from beginning to end, it was Ah-Maze-Ing! The staff was incredible. They were all so cheerful and helpful from check in all the way to check out. We grabbed a beer at the beer porch at check in and let me tell you, this place is adorable. The bar is set up in a tiki style and they offer several beers selections on draft as well as in bottles. After a quick walk down to the water front, we were assisted with getting our paddle boards in the water. We paddled for 2 hours and watched the sun set. The vantage point from river offered beautiful views of the sunset over our pretty city. Once we were finished, we paddled in and were helped out of the water. We never had to carry anything! You can rent paddle boards, single and tandem kayaks, and hydro-bikes. The rates are reasonable, the staff is friendly, and there is so much fun to be had.
