I spent $70 on a pair of pants, and I had to find the (again, friendly) person to help me who was chatting with two coworkers. Then we get to the fitting room and press the button - no one shows up. Stick one of those employees at the fitting room because you absolutely have the staff to do that. Finally, Melissa roamed by to let us in and tried to sell us their lifetime membership. I go in the fitting room, walk out in the pants and I needed another size. She doesn't ask me how it's going or try to help because she's too busy giving a 10 minute speech to my (annoyed) husband, trying to sell this membership. I finally changed, went to get my own other size, and we paid for two items and left. They won't give you a bag, but they will give you a huge box. Recycling, I'm sure, but a little nonsensical and annoying. At the checkout, the other woman tried again to sell me this membership. She would not stop when I told her four times that I didn't want it. Management: The reason I didn't join is because of the terrible customer service. It annoyed me to spend a small fortune on two pairs of pants and while you are overstaffed (if groups of 2-3 employees are everywhere, give them a task - who is managing the store? Why the obsessive focus on selling a membership and none on serving people in the store?), nobody is actually helping customers.

I told him my rear brake wasn't feeling right. He walked all the way out to my truck with me and walked the bike back inside himself. Then broke it down and replaced my pads and got it back to rideable for me. All of this was at closing and after hours. As an adult, I've enjoyed cycling since the late 80s and having previously worked in a shop myself, was looking for a place that could not only fix my bikes but one that I could develop a relationship with. The kind of bike shop you could hang out in, swap riding stories, plan rides and maybe even learn a little something you didn't know about your bike. After visiting a handful of shops I walked into Just Ride Bikes and Fitness. Just Ride had that bike shop vibe, which was like going to that place where everybody knows your name. You know that place, right? When I walked into Just Ride, I was greeted by Brian who is the owner. Brian was friendly and knowledgeable of not only the bike business but the local cycling scene as well, which was invaluable to a new arrival to the great state of Tennessee. Brian's staff were equally helpful and great to talk bikes with. After that initial visit, I brought my mountain bike in to have the dropper post serviced. Brian got the job done quickly, kept me abreast of the status of my repair and made sure the service cost remained reasonable. My dropper post now works better than when my bike was new! For riding the Creeper and other trails in the area I bought a Trek Checkpoint gravel bike from Just Ride. Brian made some great suggestions for which gravel bike was best for me and made me a very reasonable offer on the purchase of my new Checkpoint. I also completed my first shop ride with the Just Ride crew, which was a total blast and I can't wait for the next one. I've been to shops where no one who works there actually rides but the guys at Just Ride are cyclists of all levels whom you just might see if you're out on the Greenbelt trail or elsewhere. I've found bicycle shops that have practically no inventory and everything has to be ordered for you to shops that stock mostly the super expensive stuff that you probably don't want or need. Just Ride keeps a nice selection of bikes and accessories in stock that you'll actually want, including products for the serious athletes to those riders who just want to get some exercise and enjoy the road/trail. I found the staff at Just Ride to be honest, welcoming and very competent. I'm happy to have found Just Ride Bikes and Fitness and they are now my go to shop in northeast Tennessee.

I brought my wife's Trek in for somebody to check out the rear brake (it was rubbing). The guy working there spotted the problem; it was a simple spring that had dislodged from her rim brake and he corrected the problem in about 5 seconds - no charge! Then he gave her bike a quick once over and checked the tires. He was pretty darn awesome and knew a lot about Fire Mountain and the trails there. This is a great shop with some nice bikes (I've got my eye on a Specialized!) and the staff can't be beat. I will be back for more gear and hopefully a totally unnecessary third bike!
