Absolutely love bearpaw cookies. I don't know why it's become so rare to have a true dessert place, but this is one of them. It's located right on Sherman avenue in downtown Coeur d'alene. If you're on a downtown crawl, and you just had dinner, and you're looking for a sweet treat this is going to be your best bet. They have an ice cream bar inside, you can get cones, bowls, sundays, whatever you might be looking for. They have a good selection of ice cream, and some good options for toppings. They also have a bakery counter. That sells cookies, scones, brownies, and other sweet treats. Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. And we've always had a good experience when we come in. The interior of the restaurant is a little bit awkward to get in and out of, the entryway creates a little bit of a log jam. But just politely excuse yourself and move past people further into the space, and there's plenty of room. Overall, it's a great place, anytime we're walking around downtown we usually stop. read more

Came here for the crepes. They make it right in front of you after you order! They have both sweet and savory flavors. I went with the huckleberry jam. Don't forget the whip cream, it balances the sweetness. Service is quick. Ambiance is like a candy shop. The owners are very friendly. Would definitely come back to try more items. Cute little stop right on the downtown strip. It's an easy place to pop into if you're out shopping and want something sweet. I didn't try the crepes so I can't speak to those, but the cookies were good. I'm not the biggest cookie person so it's not somewhere I'll be running back to, but they definitely hit the spot. The interior was clean, there were plenty of options to choose from, and the staff was friendly. Overall a solid dessert stop if you're in the area and craving something sweet. read more

The shop is super cute on the inside... they offer ice cream, crepes, cookies and a variety of beverages. The staff was not super friendly or helpful. I asked what I thought was a simple question about their iced tea was it bottled, made in house, or from the fountain... she looked at me confused and said "it is from a tea bag but we don't like make it here" so we opted for bottled water and two cookies: the doodle bear and the chubby bear (chocolate chip) and the total was $15. We tried the cookies right away and were disappointed because they looked amazing. They were pretty flavorless and just not good... I don't see us returning. read more

I may or may not have very firmly asked my bff to "get out the snickerdoodle" at mile 18 of the Coeur d'Alene marathon. We had stopped in the afternoon before to try a couple of cookies. I intentionally saved one incase I wanted a sweet treat during the marathon. I can't eat much but I do enjoy a bite or two at different mile markers to help keep my energy up since I can never eat before a race. We tried the chubby bear classic chocolate chip cookie which was good and I had a bite of the sticky bear (snickerdoodle) and knew it'd be the perf amount of sweet to give me a little boost. Looking for a sweet treat? Bear Paw Cookies has your covered! I stumbled across this cute shop while visiting the area. It was a cold rainy day and I stopped by for a hot cocoa and strawberry crepe. Both were so delicious! The crepe was large and strawberries were fresh. The woman working (I believe the owner) was so friendly! She mapped out the area for me and gave me tons of recommendations. I got a pumpkin paw to-go, I just couldn't pass it up! It was also delicious - I wish I would have gotten more cookies! read more

After our first visit a month ago, I've been anxiously awaiting our next visit. As I stated before, this place is incredible and has some of the best cookies I've ever had. We ordered 4 cookies on this visit and while they are a little expensive at $5 each, they are so good I can look past the price. I do wish they had some discount for buying multiple cookies though. Back to the cookies. We ordered the "Chubby Bear" which is a 6oz thick chocolate chip, the "Sasquatch" which is peanut butter, oatmeal, chocolate chips and M&M's, the "PB Bear" which is flourless peanut butter and finally the "Beary Cobbler" which is white chocolate, cream cheese and fruit. We visited late last night, so they had stopped serving crepes at that point. But we tried a few of their cookies and they were outstanding!! The peanut butter cookie, the molasses cookie, and the maple bacon cookie were so thick and chewy, rich with flavor, and fresh! The staff was also super friendly as well!! Can't wait to come back to try their crepe offerings! Also if you're afraid of catching COVID, then don't come out of your house. Simple as that. I appreciate that this place doesn't enforce draconian mask requirements for their customers. Thank you Bear Paw for focusing on what you're out to do-selling delicious treats, and not on enforcing poor public policy. read more

Service was not great. My family & I went in & We were ignored. There was only one person & while making a crepe she was talking to other customers as if there was no one else there. She acknowledged everyone else coming and going but us. . It would have been nice if she said "I will be right with you". We ended up leaving. read more

I'd like to write a longer review but I'm savoring cookies. Staff was helpful and great humor. No French press or pour over coffee so we shopped and went where they kindly recommended. Nope not good. Very dry. Ordered a few things. Literally they took one piece of lunch meat and tore it up with the 5 mushrooms and 6 pieces of spinach. I counted as the kid made it. The cinnamon sugar was just that. Dry and cough out the cinnamon. Where is the butter? read more

Oh man, the cookie gods have heard my prayer. We were just walking around downtown killing time. I think we had decided to get ice cream but bear paw didn't have the flavors I was craving. My boyfriend decided instead of ice cream he would get a nice, warm crepe. They were out of bananas and strawberries so he opted for a peaches and cream crepe and omg it was delicious. The peaches were freshly sliced and so sweet, we could taste the summer through it. They were nearly sold out of cookies but they said they were getting a delivery shortly so I could wait while they restocked them. I got a s'mores and a chubby chocolate chip cookie and they were so freaking good!!! The s'mores one kind of tasted more brown buttery while the chubby bear was a soft cakier cookie. They were both so good I regret not getting more while we were there! I ate the other half of my chubby chocolate chip cookie two days later and the edge was kind of crumbly but the rest of the cookie still miraculously stayed moist! Ugh I'm sitting here salivating wishing they did overnight delivery. Would 100% recommend this place over and over again. read more

DELISH!!! I popped in to see what they had to offer. The owner was super friendly. We chatted a few minutes before I decided on a chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin. I had a choice between a gooey cookie or crunchy cookie and they were still warm from the oven. The cookies were huge. A fun, local alternative to the big corporate cookie franchises. The cookies were delicious. I had the original chip and a fudgy chocolate chip type of cookie. Both were great. The young guy at the Crepe counter greeted us as we entered and left. He had great customer service skills. That was the highlight of our visit Unfortunately, the cookies weren't as good. We got chocolate chip, double fudge (we think that's what it was called) and a lemon frosted. The lemon frosted was moist but seemed like it was missing lemon zest. The texture of the chocolate fudge was odd. And sadly, the chocolate chip cookie was such a disappointment. We won't be returning for the cookies. read more

Staff and service was great, but the cookies were just ok. They didn't taste very fresh because they were in an open case. The shop is set up a little funky. We didn't try anything else. The cookies didn't have tags so we had to ask a few times what each one was. They could've been displayed better and sealed for freshness. I chose the Sticky Bear and the Sunshine Bear. My friend also got a Sticky Bear and a Fudgey Bear. Sticky Bear: A molasses cookie that was pretty good and soft. No crunch and more doughy-like, but didn't seem to be undercooked either. Sunshine Bear: A lemon frosted sweet dough cookie that was very sweet with subtle lemon, not tart lemon. No crunch and was doughy, slightly undercooked. Fudgey Bear: A gluten free flourless chocolate cookie with chocolate chips that made for a rich chocolatey cookie. It had way more crunch than the other two cookies I tried. Pretty decent for an alternative cookie. Some people like soft baked cookies, some people like cookies with more of a crunch--I don't discriminate and like all cookies and my preferred texture just depends on my mood. Based on the other reviews, I would say try this place if you like a softer cookie. As I was leaving I did notice store hours out front were blank. Maybe hours are changing for the summer?

I'm currently making French toast with the Japanese milk bread right now, and because there are no preservatives in it, it must be frozen within a couple of days or used right away! And the reason? As great as this store is, their selection is actually pretty limited. They mostly just have prepackaged very generic candies. They don't even have a lot of things that you would expect to have at a "specialty candy store". That said they do make a lot of their own candies, and I think the popcorn is made in house as well. The people who work here are all super friendly and helpful. And it's conveniently located if you're anywhere near the shops at Coeur d'Alene resort.

Either way it's plenty of room to sit and hang out and chat and have a couple good donuts. The counter people were nice and friendly, and explain to me the name of the shop, thankfully it was not truth and advertising. These donuts are hard and gross. These are like amazing donuts and I would have eaten a dozen of them if I did not have the self-risk paint that I possess. I had a chocolate moose filled chocolate boys donut with a chocolate milk. I'm guessing you can see that I like chocolate. This place definitely did not disappoint in that area and had some amazing, amazing ones. Thanks!
