5.27.25: As I was walking around enjoying some ice cream, I noticed this cookie store and had to go in. It was our first time in and was greeted when we walked in. No other customers were there and the ambience was quiet. There were a variety of cookies to choose from that day and the employee helping described each one I asked about. I chose the Sticky Bear and the Sunshine Bear. My friend also got a Sticky Bear and a Fudgey Bear. Sticky Bear: A molasses cookie that was pretty good and soft. No crunch and more doughy-like, but didn't seem to be undercooked either. Sunshine Bear: A lemon frosted sweet dough cookie that was very sweet with subtle lemon, not tart lemon. No crunch and was doughy, slightly undercooked. Fudgey Bear: A gluten free flourless chocolate cookie with chocolate chips that made for a rich chocolatey cookie. It had way more crunch than the other two cookies I tried. Pretty decent for an alternative cookie. Some people like soft baked cookies, some people like cookies with more of a crunch--I don't discriminate and like all cookies and my preferred texture just depends on my mood. These cookies are beary HUGE. Bear Paw Cookies is a small dessert shop serving up freshly baked cookies and ice cream in downtown Coeur D'Alene. Since I have very little self control, I decided to order both a cookie (to save for later) and a single scoop of ice cream. They allowed us to each try a variety of flavors, both classics and seasonal, but I eventually landed on birthday cake ice cream in a warm waffle cone.. which I devoured in a matter of minutes! I also ordered the ginormous chocolate chocolate cookie! This cookie was perfectly soft and flavorful a day later when I warmed it up in the microwave. Bear Paw offers two ways to order: 1. Their walk up window or 2. By entering the business and ordering at their register. There's no seating inside or outside, but luckily this is the perfect item to grab on the go! We ate our ice cream while exploring the downtown area, which is packed with a variety of shops, restaurants, and parks, and is perfect for people watching! read more

Logged in to see if I'm just crazy, and there's the review from Leslie R... who I totally agree with! I also got a chocolate chip cookie today which was likely from the same batch. It was way short on chocolate and was absolutely undercooked in the middle. Felt like a lump of dough in my stomach and it didn't go away for quite some time. I literally put off lunch... and we'd been excited to grab something tasty in town before we left today. I can't speak for the cookies at Circle K that Leslie referenced, but I can tell you I FAR prefer the ones at Pita Pit to what I had today. Considering the whole experience, I dinged it a star lower than Leslie R. because one of the workers was running a carpet cleaner machine on the hardwood floor practically non-stop the whole time we were there. It was painfully loud and shrill but we stuck it out because it was so hot outside. I appreciate that they were cleaning their floor but it was really REALLY bad for ambiance. read more

First off, one of my favorite deserts is chocolate chip cookies. I was in the vicinity and wanted to treat myself to a cookie. I figured this would be a great place since they have 2 locations that I know of.I purchased a chocolate chip cookie and couldn't wait to bite into a chocolaty delight. The cookie was very doughy if you like raw cookie dough that is baked then it would be great. I however expect a gourmet cookie to be full of chocolate chips. This was not the case. The cookie itself was dry and the chocolate chips were almost non existent. It can't be an anomaly because all of the cookies looked the same. I should have known better than to buy a $5 cookie when I had to ask the clerk what type of cookie it was because it wasn't apparent. It wasn't the worst cookie I've ever had but the only positive thing I can say about it is that at least it wasn't overly sweet. Such a disappointment. An expensive cookie should be full of chocolate chips and not just dough. Very disappointing and the cookies at the Circle K are better and considerably less expensive. read more

I went here to get a few and ended up buying a dozen. Good thing I did, amazing. Very rich, if you have a sweet tooth, one is all you need. Dee-lish. Three things about this place that ought to earn your business: 1) Hospitality - Great people with good senses of humor and welcoming warmth. 2) Quality - Their cookies are incredibly approachable due to them being homemade and not too sweet or rich. It's those kind of desserts where they feel like fuel for your body rather than making you feel like you shouldn't be indulging. 3) Local - Aside from it being a family-run vibe, they actually use espresso that's from a local company and exclusive in the area. Visited for the first time today and it will not be my last that's for sure! I've only tried one cookie so far but it is beyond delicious! Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside perfection. The other cookies are gifts but I'm hoping for a taste of those too. All of the young ladies working were friendly, polite, and professional. I saw some complaints here about no masks being worn. Not sure why that's an issue when I had zero problem keeping a 6 foot distance from any worker or customer. The cute little shop was clean and safe in my opinion. Great ambience and friendly staff. The cookies here are really something else. They are fantastic tasting - very large and rich and just one of them is very filling. They go well with coffee - and a nice coffee is served here. They have a local bean roaster they partner with so the brew is a step above what you might otherwise expect. Bought four cookies to take back to our Air BNB for later. The fudgy was hard as a rock and completely inedible. The peanut butter was not as hard but still very stale. The other two were equally hard just to touch and we wound up throwing them all away. Cookies are obviously not fresh each day since we made our purchase in the morning. I'll admit that when I saw the $2.50-$3 price tag, I wasn't sure whether it was a gonna be worth it. It was. These cookies are (to me) everything that a cookie should be. They're soft in the middle with crisp edges. The molasses cookie is my personal favorite, but my wife, sister, and kids swear by the chocolate chip. The ice cream here is really good too, but the cookies are the reason to stop in. The staff here is amazing as well. They couldn't be any friendlier. My youngest son loves going in to get a cookie, but also to see his favorite cashier/cookie supplier. I recommend this place to anyone who loves a really good cookie. The 5 stars are strictly for their peanut butter cookies, which are AMAZING! Probably the best peanut butter cookies I've ever tasted. ALL their cookies are pretty good, and fatter/bigger than an average cookie. Service has always been good, very nice and friendly. Finished up dinner date nite with the wife and googled places for desserts in CDA and this little gem popped up. Easily accessible Down amongst the riverstone shops. Not much to it. Just a Couple chairs and tables and a few display cases. But inside those cases were some really great cookies. Of course I hit up the free samples first to see what we were working with. We got a snickerdoodle and a white chocolate chip and macadamia nut. Just the right amount of chew on the doodle and the Mac nut was nice and crumbly.
