What a fun place! I had been driving around this area for a couple of days and kept seeing this place and thought the name was hilarious. I thought to myself well, let's check it out and see if it's Truth and advertising. Spoiler alert, it wasn't. First thing you should know, is gross is the guy's last name that started the business. Been doing it for 47 years according to a plaque on the inside of the business. I'll tell you what, and 4700 this guy has the donut game down. First of all, this is one of the largest donut shops I've ever seen that had two separate rooms for sitting, now I don't know if they just got a restaurant that had gone out of business and turned into a donut shop or if they have that kind of volume coming in through the day. Either way it's plenty of room to sit and hang out and chat and have a couple good donuts. The counter people were nice and friendly, and explain to me the name of the shop, thankfully it was not truth and advertising. These donuts are hard and gross. These are like amazing donuts and I would have eaten a dozen of them if I did not have the self-risk paint that I possess. I had a chocolate moose filled chocolate boys donut with a chocolate milk. I'm guessing you can see that I like chocolate. This place definitely did not disappoint in that area and had some amazing, amazing ones. Thanks! We love Gross donuts. We've been coming for years and always have a good experience. My favorite donuts are chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and not many places in Northern Idaho seemed to sell them, so I was elated when we found them at Gross. We like all the varieties we've tried, and now that we live 3.5 hours away, anytime one of us in town we buy a full dozen to take home to the family! read more

Went in about 7:30pm and this is my first time here. The service was great the young lady was kind and very helpful. The variety was ok but none of the fancy cool donuts in the pictures were available. I guess they only do those during the peek hours. I still got a bakers dozen of the common donuts and they were good just nothing special. I can get the same ones for 10 dollars cheaper next door at Yokes market. The store was a very open store with plenty of seating but is oddly quiet not any type of piped music or anything. I might try it again in the am to see those fancy donuts but not any time soon. read more

They have the usual suspects: glazed, old fashioned chocolate or plain with or without sprinkles and/or chocolate glaze, Apple fritter, bear claws, maple bar, chocolate bar, and etc. I enjoyed the fresh warm apple fritter. I had the cinnamon roll a couple of days later. Although it was good, I believe it would have been perfect had I eaten it earlier. They offer specialty doughnuts like chocolate filled chocolate bars; which one family member enjoyed. Maple bars with bacon sprinkles, another family member enjoyed. The peanut butter filled triangle was very peanut buttery tasting, didn't go over well for anyone in my group. The Reese candy filled bar was too sweet. I arrived on a Thursday at 12:30pm and they were all out of donuts. This is an hour and half before they close. Fritters and maple bars is all they had. The kid who worked there couldn't even tell me why and she seemed confused over basic questions about their menu of donuts. Also took a few times to get her attention when I arrived because she was on FaceTime with her friend and couldn't be bothered by a customer while at work. No clue if the donuts taste good because they didn't have any. Probably should either make more to begin with or close 3 hours earlier rather than waste people's time. read more

It being National donut day we decided to look for a local donut shop on our travels. So glade we did! Their donuts were totally worth the stop. Heading in at 11:15 am, I knew there would be a small selection if any. I've been here a few times and get the maple bar. It's pretty good for the Spokane area but not the best in the Northwest. I don't particularly enjoy the glazed twist or cake donuts. I ordered an apple fritter and was disappointed about 6 blocks away. Disappointed that I didn't get 3 of them. It may have been the best fritter I've had in 46 years. The girls at the counter are always friendly and they have a lot of repeat business with tons of seniors enjoying morning coffee together in the back room daily. I have been to (and actually just wrote a review for) CDA Gross Donuts. I recently went to the Post Falls location (which was what compelled me to write reviews for both of them). I have to say, the CDA location is better for sure. Store is bigger and most inviting, and also has a drive thru I believe. I cannot remember if this one did or not. I didn't use the drive thru at the CDA location, but that is an extra amenity. Post Falls location had less donuts in my opinion, and they were also sold out of 2 of my favorites from the CDA location. I ended up getting a maple bar and a cake donut, which were both good, but not great. It is pretty similar to the CDA one, it's pretty apparent that the CDA location was the first and this one was added later. If given the choice I would say go to CDA. read more

So disappointed with this location. It's like they run out of everything that's good before noon every day, and now they nixed their open all day policy for much more limited operating hours. The donuts aren't even that good, pretty standard in my opinion. If you're looking for a simple sugar rush, these donuts might suffice. Driving around I decided to stop here to get a quick snack. I've been to another Ugly Donuts location by my hotel near Coeur d'Alene (off the 95)so I decided to stop in this one. Unfortunately the experience was not the same, my donut was very hard and dry. In their defense I will say it is a quarter to 3 (pm)... These Donuts should have been tossed and there should be some in process...don't know if that's happening ...better yet doesn't look like that's happening. I paid $2. 43 for a buttermilk chocolate donut and a small chocolate milk, that's what I normally purchase when I go to Ugly Donuts. Better luck next time. read more

It was a crazy busy day and there were a lot of needy customers. Kudos to the staff for being patient and amazing. Donuts were Ok. My issue was the staff NOT WEARING GLOVES! The customer in front of me asked an employee for cream filling, she grabbed it with her bare hands, rang up customers order, handled cash and came back to help me without washing her hands or wearing any gloves. Going to Gross Donuts was a great experience. They had a nice variety of donuts available as well as daily fritter specials. They have apple fritters every day and rotate between blueberry, cherry, and banana fritters the rest of the week. I had an apple fritter, a blueberry buttermilk bar, and an original cake donut with frosting and sprinkles. Each of the donuts were crisp when I bit into them and had wonderful flavor. Out of the three donuts, the blueberry buttermilk was my savory. It had a rich blueberry flavor that was well balanced in the donut. I went here at 7am, and there was no one! I'm used to lines being out the door. The staff were very friendly. Inside, it was nicely decorated. It looks like a great place to bring a group of people. Made my last stop at a Gross this morning! Post Falls, cases nearly empty except for bars and a couple of types of cake donuts. Plus the price and selection boards had been wiped clean. When I bought a maple bar I found the reason. The bar was downsized and the price was $1.90! Three times what they get at local markets! For the price of three small maple bars, from Gross, I could get an 8-pack of pastries at Costco, or a 10-pack of donuts at Wally world. Plus, I'll swear the bar I got was a day old! It was dry! And the price, again, was unreal. I left the dime change as a tip. Get a clue, Gross! (fitting name) Not that it matters to me, I ain't coming back! I don't mind supporting local small businesses, but I refuse to be ripped off, even if it is just a buck or so! read more
