It's hard to describe how truly wonderful this hidden gem is. Tucked away off of Bowdish Road is a garden with this boutique restaurant in the middle. The owners are sweet and adorable. The chef (wife) is from Thailand and cooks the best Thai cuisine that I've ever enjoyed in the US. Check the website for hours because while Yelp and Google might assure you that they're open, reservations are generally required for the evening. You may show up to find they cannot accommodate you or they're closed. By the way, we had the cashew chicken, chicken pad Thai, and my husband and I split their spring roll. Each was amazing. We highly recommend.

Well, this is an amazing hidden gem in Spokane. A friend and I wanted Thai Food, so we googled the restaurant and found this restaurant. We did not realize that it was by reservation only, but the owner had some availability. I ordered the Red Curry dish that was AMAZING! They add slices of fresh pumpkin to it. When I say fresh, I mean that the cook (his wife) went into the garden and got a pumpkin! How cool was this!? They are only open for a short window, but all money is donated to help elephants. What is better than a restaurant with great food, family-owned, and they donate the proceeds?

My favorite Thai restaurant in all of Spokane. Every dish I've tried is delicious and authentic. Loads of good flavor. It's beautiful inside and out. Service is always awesome! They have really good breakfast/coffee too!

I waited far too long to try this magical spot. It is in the valley which is far for me but honestly soooo worth it. The couple that own this place are the absolute sweetest. The garden outside, the cafe vibes inside, the decor and ambiance all make you feel like you are at grandma's house. Which is exactly how it should be. Lots of space for seating and a full patio that is beautiful, we sat inside for lunch and ordered Thai teas with coconut milk and they were SO delicious. Try the coconut milk. It is a game changer. Between the 3 of us we ordered the fresh rolls, THREE TIMES. They were that good that we kept sharing and needing more. Same with the spring rolls. You will not be disappointed. We also tried the fried rice, drunken noodles, and the curry noodle soup. SOO MUCH incredible comfort food. I need more soon.

What a lovely little place! Food was amazing! We had the works and every thing was absolutely delicious! The owners came out to great us and made sure every thing was just right. They both were just the sweetest people. Highly recommend this treasure of a place!

The server was an incredibly nice man who happens to be the chef's husband! (That's when you just know a place will be good.) They were nice enough to offer a vegetarian sauce in place of the fish sauce we can't have due to allergies. Everything was fresh and delicious. We will be back for dinner sometime!

    Clean plate deliciousness!

Clean plate deliciousness! Absolutely fantastic! Had the drunken noodles for lunch- at other Thai places, the soy sauce is usually overpowering but not here. Flavors were so well balanced. Tiny little place & so cute. Very limited seating so can't wait to have dinner here... limited hours so make a reservation if you plan to have dinner. What a find!!!

Great food! Great service! Super friendly! Big servings! Very tasty! Will be back next time I'm in town!

I'm surprised more people don't know about this spot. So there are not that many GOOD places to eat in Spokane Valley, but this is one of them! They repurposed a small house for this business. Yesterday was the first time I've eaten here where the flowers in the back were in bloom and it was just a lovely view. The food is so good. It's a bit different than other Thai places around here, but I can tell they make it all since I've had glimpses of the items in their kitchen as they're cooking. They also put more care into their plating. Their dinner menu offers more Thai food options. For lunch, they have baked goods, full service coffee, bubble tea, crepes and quiche. Their chicken pad Thai is my go to although their fried rice is also delicious! Service is always good for me. They're always really warm and welcoming. I'm usually greeted by the cool when I leave. Everyone I've brought here had really enjoyed Mangrove. :)

Rude, unwelcoming staff (literally resentful that we wanted to eat there), genuinely ugly interior.

Came for lunch. Really good. Not fast, but well worth the wait. They were accommodating to our 5 adults and 2 kids. Again, really good.

We were so disappointed in our experience with Happy Cake Co. We always like to support locally…read morewhen we can. My husband and I got married on the 20th of December in a small ceremony to save money for a larger reception next year. We didn't plan on getting a cake bc we had such a tight budget, but my mom wanted us to have something to freeze for our anniversary so she ordered us a cake from here to surprise us and make our day a little more special. She ordered over the phone and then needed to make a change so she called back to change the writing on the cake. She asked the guy who she spoke to if she needed to email the information over and he said no and that he had it covered. My mom decided to email the information over anyway just to be safe. This was 1 month before the wedding. The day of, my dad picked it up, he didn't know what it was supposed to look like, but mentioned it didn't look great to my mom later when we arrived to the venue. When she opened the box it wasn't even close to what she ordered. Not even before she made the changes. We asked specifically for our last name in black writing and a certain font which they said they could do. We received an all white cake without our last name and the writing was not straight nor the font we requested. It almost looked like they forgot about us and went to the grocery store really quick. At this point it was too late to do anything and we were all leaving town for the holidays the next day so we left it in the box at dinner, skipped the cake cutting together and just took it home. We decided we would come talk to them after Christmas. We had a few bites out of it, but ended up throwing it away because it just wasn't very good anyway and by the time we got to talk to an employee, it would have been bad. Dec 26th my mom went in to see if we could have it remade so we could freeze it for our anniversary or refunded. The owner had the most disrespectful attitude saying between "ALL of the calls and emails" he couldn't keep up, and it was her fault. Mind you the cake wasn't even close to her original order either... He said he would refund her if we brought the original cake in (a week later). He kept trying to make her feel stupid with snide comments... Thankfully she stood her ground and didn't accept anything less than a full refund which he eventually gave her after arguing with her and making her cry, saying we should just be thankful they even made it in the first place because they normally don't even do things for "as cheap as $50" As she was walking out he said to her "If they still have the cake you should try it because it's really good..." as I mentioned before we threw it away because it was not very good... The whole experience was just very disheartening. We had heard such good things and maybe this was a one off situation, but we have a reception planned for over 200 people next year and we will absolutely not be ordering from here again. We are also in the event community and won't be sending recommendations here any longer after our personal experience. Making a mistake is one thing. Things happen especially around the holidays, but to push blame and verbally insult another person as a business owner is another. We are incredibly disappointed. Pictures of the email for clarification with photo examples and the cake we received.
