I found reviews for Fantasy Nail Salon & Spa and decided to book an appointment although they take walk-ins most days. I am SO glad we chose this place! Brian did my gel manicure and it's immaculate. He obviously takes pride in his work as he took his time and ensured each of my nails were perfect. My MIL's nails were done by a younger woman who I believe was being trained there. She also took her time and complimented the colors we chose, asking about our dogs and our lives. All three of the staff members were friendly and personable, offering us water and candy and making sure we were comfortable. Afterwards, Brian came over and cleaned up the edges of my MIL's nails to make them look perfect. Their gel manis are $33, which, in my opinion, in an excellent price and the work done was well worth the money. I am currently on the second day of my manicure and it looks flawless. I'll be updating after a week or so with how they've held up. *Note: we were the only 3 people in the salon at the time, so I can't say how attentive they are if they are busy. But the store was extremely clean and I saw no red flags in the few hours we were there.

The woman doing my nails was pretty rough, and even when I let her know I was uncomfortable, she just told me to "relax my fingers" instead of adjusting anything. There wasn't much communication, and I kind of felt like I was just being rushed through. To be fair, my nails turned out looking nice in the end--but the process felt more like a chore than a treat. I'm new to the area and hoping to find a go-to salon, but I don't think this is it.

I would never expect to have a manicurist "entertain " me, but other than "hello" and "relax your arm," she said nothing to me. I will admit, I'm one of those who just doesn't instinctively move my arm in the position that is best for them. They'll have to remind me to "relax your arm." But after a slight huff, roll of her eyes, and irritation in her voice, she was annoyed she had to repeat that phrase to me. Throughout the whole process (and it's a long process), she probably used that phrase "relax your arm" 5x. I prob would be irritated also if I had to repeat that phrase all day, but hey, I don't have to because I'm not a manicurist. My 2 star rating would be higher had it not been for her. My nails looked lovely. But I will not go back.

The women who started on my nails was an older lady and she didn't quite know what French nails were. No worries, I show her a picture. I'll put the picture in my photos for reference. She started and at first it was all okay. Once she started applying the polish to the acrylic tho I realized not only did she not file my nails enough to where the acrylic looked like a mountain of mush! Too thick. I told " hey just before we put the polish on do we mind to go a bit thinner?" She assures me she will do the thinning after the polish. Weird I think because I've got my nails done for years but I let it go. After they were done not only were they so so thick but they were ALL UNEVEN! at this point me and my friend just need to leave because we had work. So I paid the 55 for my ugly nails and even still tipped her 20! However that night once I got home for work I realized just how awful they were. My mom even said how weird and bad they looked for being done at a salon. So as I am an adult I have awful social anxiety and just wanted it fixed! So I had my mom walk in with me to explain the situation to someone in the salon! To that she says " well that's what they looked like yesterday but you had to have your mom come make me feel bad" I don't even say anything because again I have ANXIETY! The whole time she was talking to the women working beside her, as I can't tell you what they were saying, I do know that she'd pick up my hand DRAG it closer the the other artist point and laugh about things. REAL PROFESSIONAL RIGHT? Mind you she was very aggressive with my hands, not minding where the electric file touched my cuticle, hitting my hand with the file and buffer, etc. MORAL TO THIS, this place sucks and don't waste your time nor money!
